  1. they were removed just as quick as they appeared, thankfully!
  2. they had 000 wheels on Sunshine just before Covid. I saw it with my own eyes.
  3. What is incorrect about what I said? Answer: nothing. The documents have to be printed.
  4. I think that’s an overly broad generalization but beside the point. The problem for carnival is only being able to compete on price isn’t going to get that $30Bn in debt paid off and allow them to build new ships.
  5. It depends on how successful the current "Costa by Carnival" ships are for Carnival as to if they continue the concept. It's their only hope to keep the Carnival brand relevant over the coming decade, that's for sure. Their fleet really can't compete against the Prima and Icon or even Oasis classes, except on price.
  6. They can desalinate and treat sea water, but often they take water onboard when in port. Either way the water is perfectly safe to drink and in my opinion tastes better than the bottled stuff they sell onboard. There was only once I got nasty green water out of the tap - that was years ago on the Ecstasy.
  7. The Magic had it on my cruise over Labor Day this year, so unless something changes you've got a good chance!
  8. If you booked using a travel agent, your travel agent will have to make the change. Call them.
  9. It's up to the Captain. I've been on Carnival cruises where they did change time and I've been on Carnival cruises where they didn't. I don't know if there's any hard-and-fast rule.
  10. I don't know, does it really matter though?
  11. I do the same - sometimes I'll squirt a little lemonade in it if I'm feeling wild - frankly the water on Lido tastes better than the spring water that Carnival has in my opinion. It tastes like pool water to me.
  12. Some folks may be confused by the Banquet Brown n' Serve sausage links that are served on some days in the buffet and in the MDR. That's not what we're talking about here.
  13. It hasn't changed and it's detailed on Carnival's website as @ColeThornton shared.
  14. The documents have to be printed as it states on the documents themselves. Maybe one day Carnival will allow digital documents but not tomorrow. All you need is the boarding pass - the rest of the documents that print are not necessary.
  15. Only if you don't consider NCL a mass-market line I guess. I'd definitely agree that Virgin isn't a mass-market line.
  16. As I said, Carnival should outsource their buffet to Golden Corral. It would be a marked improvement.
  17. There's a reason the casino only opens in international waters...the odds are much worse than on land. Just speaking of Blackjack - it's all continuous shuffle, pays 6:5 and the dealer hits on soft 17.
  18. No, I've seen cut up hot dogs passed as sausage on Carnival - going back years (over a decade) at this point.
  19. Consistently good except for the foods they took off the buffet right, like the bacon and layer cakes 🤣
  20. You really should read the contract of the product you're buying rather than take stranger's word for it on the internet. My understanding is the only provision of Carnival's vacation protection that igores pre-existing conditions is the CFAR provision, likely as it is underwritten by Carnival themselves and not the travel insurance underwriter.
  21. At this point Carnival should probably outsource their buffet program to a company that knows how to run a consistently good buffet - Golden Corral.
  22. To use the CFAR provision there is probably no fraud, good point.
  23. Some crew I've talked to are dying to get on Virgin voyages - which is a no tipping line. They pay much better than the tipped lines and they get free internet. Granted Virgin is still a very small line compared to Carnival or Royal, so they aren't making many waves in the industry yet (pardon the pun). But I wouldn't be surprised to see Virgin continue to grow, steal marketshare from the big players, and force them to make changes. The market sorts itself out in most cases.
  24. I for one loved the cakes, especially the Funfetti Cheesecake and the German chocolate cake. I liked the sheet cakes served for dinner as well, to be honest. I don't have much of a sweet tooth so I'm fairly easy to please when it comes to sweets.
  25. The invisible hand of the market will decide what the right pay is for the job, as it does for every other job in the market. The McDonald's by my house is paying something like $13 an hour plus a $600 sign on bonus and you get paid every week. If Chili's can't beat that when they do away with tipping, then they'll have to do better. That's how the market works.
