  1. Do you have to book the cruise through them by using them as a travel agent, or can you simply bill your Carnival.com purchase to your Chase card?
  2. How many times does OP have to say they know it was stolen?
  3. Unrelated perhaps but has anyone else noticed how pretty much everything on Amazon these days is some anonymous brand that looks like what happens when your cat walks across your keyboard? I don't trust any of it.
  4. I don't think they'll go paid, at least not any time soon. I think if anything Carnival will do away with the traditional set time dining room and use that space for another dining concept. The YTD room will stay, perhaps with a section cordoned off for the fewer and fewer every cruise who insist on set time dining.
  5. Yes, all individually served alcoholic drinks count against your 15. I say individually served because if you buy a bottle of wine in the dining room for example, that doesn't count against your 15.
  6. I assume Rolex watches are serialized. It would have behooved you to file a police report even if you had no intention of filing an insurance claim. The police wouldn't have investigated most likely but if the watch was ever pawned it would have been flagged. The same advice applies to OP. File a police report any time something is stolen (and you're more than reasonably sure it was actually stolen). Pawn shops run everything they buy by the police.
  7. Your port arrival appointment that you chose when you did online checkin is all you need to worry about. Usually when parking first opens, the traffic flow workers turn away folks who are obscenely early. But enforcement of that varies from week to week. Generally the lines at Charleston are pretty good these days, they were bad years ago but they've made great gains. I believe you can prepay for parking on the SC Ports website via credit card, or pay when you arrive at the pier on embarkation day. If you happen to have a handicap placard or plate, parking is free per SC law.
  8. Because when you press the button, you are spreading noro. At least that's what I'm gathering from this thread.
  9. Most of this is fleet-wide stuff. The only thing you're asking that is actually "specific" to Sunshine is the first question. On an average day they start boarding at around 10:30-11, but so many things can affect that I wouldn't recommend you planning around it. On debarkation day, I am platinum so get priority debarkation. I am usually on I-26 by 7AM. Don't worry, the wait isn't much longer if you don't get priority. The rest applies to every other ship in the fleet and is the same as every other ship for the most part.
  10. Insurance may give you a check for your mother's heirloom jewelry, but it can never replace the sentimental value of the piece.
  11. Yes, a bottle filler like airports have past security (that governmentally secured water always tastes fresher somehow) or gyms have. I feel like I've seen them on Carnival ships before, but maybe not, and definitely not enough of them.
  12. As has been mentioned the folks scanning luggage and loading it on the ship aren't Carnival employees, so it's very likely that Carnival won't be able to find your missing jewelry. The shipboard crew can't really get away with stealing.
  13. As with any new fee or new policy there will be people adversely affected. Carnival probably considers it acceptable collateral damage.
  14. I would love to see Carnival install bottle filler taps on their Lido decks etc. I know space is limited and this is a big change involves plumbing etc. But it would be worth it for guests.
  15. I knew when the crew started ringing everything up (down to charging us a penny for the champagne or excursion tickets they give away during the fun ashore talk) it was a matter of time before extra charges started. Frankly I don't mind it, I understand that Carnival has to cut waste. I am glad they're starting to bring back things they cut like the late night snacks buffet - I didn't expect that, at least not so soon.
  16. I went on 4 "last minute" "free" cruises last year alone! 4 hour drive to Charleston. Had vacation time saved up due to COVID and Carnival was eager to fill their ships! Make hay while the sun shines.
  17. I don't think water bottle fill ups is a big noro spreader.
  18. The water you are drinking today out of your clean cup was once dinosaur spit.
  19. According to the website I linked, all passengers are supposed to go to the parking lot to ride the shuttles. It's a traffic management thing. Practically though I have heard it reported that they'll let you walk up to the Nauticus building. They just won't let a taxi stop in front of the building to drop you off. So I guess they can drop you off a block or so over and you can walk up?
  20. Some people have a desire to feel superior. It's a character flaw of theirs that they shouldn't be proud of.
  21. They probably booked a "Cheers To You" rate code. Those rate codes were much more common than they are now, they've slowly dropped off most people's offer listings as we've gotten further and further away from the initial restart.
  22. If they can take my money immediately, there is no excuse why they can't give it back immediately or within a reasonable time frame.
  23. They used to offer tenders on the late night snacks buffet, before they nixed it last year.
  24. Yeah that makes sense to me. Time will tell. I am inordinately excited that hot dogs are back on the late night menu...silly or not, my wife and I have very fond memories of eating hot dogs and chicken tenders at the buffet on our honeymoon cruise after getting out of the comedy club (we'd take the rear stairs to beat the crowd lol), years ago now on Fantasy.
