Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I very much agree with you. I was on a 4 day on the Discovery last month and was so glad we didn't commit to a 7 day on that ship. Any future cruises for me will be RC, Celeb, or Disney. Might give Virgin a go.
  2. I'd agree but I just sailed with friends on the Celebrity Solstice at nearly full capacity and had zero issues. We had an amazing time and never felt crowded and the crew members, service, and food were all excellent. Our experience on the Discovery left a lot to be desired.
  3. Hahaha. We had 3 in the mini suite and were very comfortable.
  4. You had a different experience than I did with the crew. A few were great (the person behind the counter up at the Salty Dog Grill - amazing!) but most of them seemed irritated, bored, or confused. I think we actually got what we ordered once with the Room Service feature. I agree, beautiful ship and the mini suite was very nice but way, way too crowded. I really do not understand the one tiny coffee shop that is supposed to cater to everyone on the ship. Especially after 10pm.
  5. This really helped me, thank you! I could not figure out how to get the QR code to show up until I followed Valiamo's instructions!
  6. That is crazy. I would definitely ask to be reassigned to someone else. I left a message with mine about making a payment and didn't hear back for around 4 hours. Tried her again and she picked up right away and was very helpful. Our party had put a hold on two staterooms the night before and she was able to get us a better location and deal, as well.
  7. I can't stop staring at that burrito 🤣
  8. Fantastic, thorough, and thoughtful review. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences!
  9. Just had sushi on five on the Solstice. Menu was per item & they did serve the non fresh grated wasabi & ginger with each roll. It was definitely fresh! I enjoyed all of it.
  10. We just boarded about a week ago in Seattle & could have easily carried on 2 bottles each. I was chicken & only brought 2 total but they could have cared less who was who. They were just watching each passenger that went through Four bottles (2 each) would have been no problem.
  11. My friends all had premium. I had the classic. I paid the extra couple of dollars on 2 or 3 drinks in 7 days. They all ordered the classic drinks 90% of the time. When I asked them about it, they replied they didn't know what "those drinks were", lol. For our group, the classic package seemed to be the more economical choice. If you are picky about wines & top shelf alcohol - premium is your huckleberry.
  12. Sunset last night was breathtaking. We enjoyed a free walk around Stanley Park. Top of Vancouver for happy hour. Cab fare from the downtown blue horizon hotel was $40 with tip. Took a little under a half hour. Security @ YVR is no joke. Line after line after line. I was really glad we were in business class.
  13. One note about Solstice: no one warned me about Abba night. Staff told us on board it would be popular and they were not kidding. I had no idea people loved Abba that much. The entire middle of the ship from deck 4-11 was singing and dancing. Great time. Don't miss it!
  14. Getting off the ship was a breeze. $15 flat cab rate to downtown. We dropped our bags at the hotel & walked around for awhile. There are security officers pretty much everywhere. Selected a couple of chicken sandwiches & truffle fries from Tap & Barrel. Had a lovely meal outside watching the sea planes. Watched Top Gun Maverick at the Scotiabank theater & grabbed a late night sandwich at Breka.
  15. My husband loves chocolate mousse. Almost obsession level. He made a disappointed joke about it not being on the MDR dessert list & our waiter happily informed him that it was on the kids menu & brought him one. Every night after that, he asked him if he wanted anything off of the kids menu. They will happily accommodate.
