  1. Happy to hear your cruise is off to a good start. If you happen to venture up to the pool deck I recommend you introduce yourself to Romeo, the deck and and safety person. He is an absolute delight and will take care of all of your needs. Also, there are three covered cabanas on the pool deck, 2 of which are reserved for upper suites. But the third cabana is up for grabs and can be yours for just $34.99 complete with drink service and an ice chest of sodas and waters. I stumbled on this little gem when I was seeking some shade. We spent an entire sea day here and loved every minute. You can book with the concierge if interested.
  2. You can likely change your time once you board...as many cruisers have reported doing this on embarkation day.
  3. I hope someone will chime in on this. If true, it's just one more thing that makes me look elsewhere. Like MSC...
  4. But there's lots of comfortable seating around the bar too. We kinda like that a little better....
  5. I'm not sure I'd like the vibe of a big ship with only 900 passengers on board. Seems like it would feel like a ghost town. From a service standpoint I'm sure it was awesome!
  6. I mean, there's still a deck 13 even if they opt to call it something else...but I get what you're saying. 😀
  7. Mine too! Birth date of my DD...can't get any luckier than that.
  8. Yes! A great place to go if you want wait service over the buffet.
  9. Continental breakfast located where? Room service or somewhere else?
  10. I noticed in some of the pics that people are wearing light jackets or long sleeves...some even have lap blankets. So have to ask, is it chilly on this itinerary? Not sure what to expect for our early March sailing as I am used to the warm Caribbean weather.
  11. I really wish I was more tech savvy. Smart tags, fire stick, hdmi at sea 😳. I wouldn’t know where to begin.
  12. “Worth it” is such a difficult question to answer because worth is subjective but I would say that if you’re on a cruise for that length of time you’d be missing out if you didn’t try at least one. If I had to pick just one it would be Butcher’s Cut. I’m not familiar with Prezoria but assuming the specialities are consistent across the fleet, I think that would be an awesome start. When we were on Seashore we did BC and had a fabulous meal. It was pricey bc we went a la carte but they have a fixed menu option as well. We skipped the Japanese and Mexican options bc we can get both at home. A great steak is always a treat, though. IMO it’s worth a try if for nothing else but to decide for yourself if it’s worth it.
  13. Happy embarkation eve! Who knew I could get so excited about someone else’s cruise?! 💁‍♀️
  14. I don’t bring anything of value to the pool deck. In my cabin I feel ok with leaving my electronics in sight but I lock wallet, passports, jewelry, in the safe. As far as receiving assistance from security if needed, I am happy ( and grateful) that I’ve never felt the need for security on a cruise ship. When our girls were teens I was a little more protective and kept them on a pretty tight leash. Overall I think it’s wise to err on the side of caution.
  15. Years ago I had to start sleeping with ear plugs because DH snores like a freight train. The ear plugs have a noise reduction factor by 33 decibels (available at Walmart) and have been a life changer. As such, I NEVER hear a thing on a cruise ship where living in close quarters with random strangers is bound to produce noise.
  16. So how does that work? How do they know you have Elite status when in the casino?
  17. I'm so glad you came back! I bet you never dreamed your question would lead to such a downward spiral. I think you have the right attitude here. Lesson learned is any question that leans itself even slightly toward one's moral turpitude is a no go...got a question about the weather, what to wear, or how the food is...you've got yourself a forum 😊. In fairness though, lots of great points, both for and against, were made as a result of this thread!
  18. Lol...I think they do. It's called Pay as you Go...😊...which is what the OP's friend should do instead of putting OP in a position where they feel compelled to take the pulse of the crowd about it being right or wrong.
  19. I don't disagree...some people are dangerous behind the wheel...period. I tend to have a lead foot on the interstate...and my car is red and sporty...so I'm a ticket magnet, which is why I asked my brother. At the same time, I know speeding could get me a ticket and I accept the risk when I speed...and actually plan on at least 1 ticket per road trip. I've been pretty lucky in that respect...except for in Italy, when I got two! 😳
  20. Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been a little shy about booking the Bliss because of it's size but we are looking at her for Alaska in the future...assuming she still goes to Alaska.
  21. Were you happy with your cabin assignment and would you do guarantee again? We have some friends who are considering a guarantee but I think I may have dissuaded them because I've heard that they generally assign the "undesirable" cabins. As I've never done it, I'm kinda regretting giving them my opinion.
  22. As an aside, my DB is a career police officer...now a chief and I asked him this very question. Turns out that there is a general rule of thumb that they follow, at least in my state...and that is 12 miles over the speed limit on the interstate and between 7 and 10 miles on surface streets depending on the posted limit. There's less tolerance for speeding in a 25-35 MPH zone than there is for a 45-50 MPH zone. We have some 50MPH zones in our area that are on local hyws.
  23. When we boarded Epic in PC it was at terminal 10. Carnival was both in front and beside us.
