  1. Am I being a bit cynical here? Maybe the problem is the Drink Package,,,it seems ships/lines that don’t push the AI have plenty of floor servers to make sure people spend in the bars. And lines who push the AI packages need to reduce the waiting staff in bars to maintain the profit by introducing AI. Especially when more drink is consumed on Transatlantic cruises.
  2. I came back of Britannia last Sunday,,,I bought the drink package for £1050 ish with loyalty discount. I drink John Smiths,Guinness and Jameson’s. My wife only drinks Prosecco,,,there is only one size for Prosecco= small,,,,and at £6.25 a glass only 6 glasses were needed to break even. x2 before dinner,x2 during dinner,x2 after dinner. I believe we nailed it without really trying with 4 days spare…..don’t forget we also had coffee and those small tins of water,,,,and soft drinks. And without late nights as the ship died a death at 23:00 hrs.
  3. A tip. I was in Palma cruise port 2 weeks ago. From the terminal to the Cathedral is a nice 45 min walk. The #1 local bus outside the terminal costs €1.5 takes 10-15 mins. There is an HoHo bus outside the terminal cost €20? Better than the cruise lines $10 shuttle.
  4. I was on a P&O cruise last week, hardly anyone stood at the bar,if you did order the barman gave your card to a waiter to serve you. There were at least 7/8 waiters in a bar the size the Sky Lounge. They just took your order on a tablet, scanned your card,,the order went to the bar,,,by the time the waiter got to the bar the drink was on the bar waiting,,,,once you were registered on the tablet they didn’t even scan your card. Even P&O can modernise.
  5. When I read threads like this or indeed reviews. I take no notice of the everything was superb, likewise everything was awful. I will believe the middle for diddle, some things were good, some things were bad. I feel they are reporting with no prejudice or agenda.
  6. Returned from Britannia last Sunday,to people who say P&O lack entertainment. Here is a list of performers for evening entertainment on that 14 nigh cruise. Headliners Theatre Company. Pulse party band. Britannia orchestra. George Wilding,,guitar, busker. Michelle Farqhuarson,,singer Micheal Wroblewski,,,pianist. In the Limelight club…. 4 Poofs & a piano. Hayley Tamaddon. Eric & Ern. Guest Artists. Neil Lockwood,,ex ELO lead singer after Jeff Lynne left. Herbie Adams..comedian. The Flyrights,,Soul and Motown. Issy- Pearse - Higham….5’ rock singer. Joe Little…comedian. Andrew Browning,,,,George Micheal tribute. Aaron Kavanagh..Elton John tribute….allegedly!!! John Clegg,,comedy impressionist. There was also ballroom dancing every night with the dance hosts.
  7. I was on the same cruise and enjoyed it. I am glad to read the moaners on this topic say they will never cruise P&O again,I find they are the type who perpetually moan on board, spoiling my cruise. One of the reasons we ask for a table for two in the MDR. No marmalade and jam in little dishes,,probably because the same moaners get more than they need, hence waste….. ps there was jam and marmalade in little dishes last week on Britannia.
  8. Returned on Sunday from Britannia also.Good time had by all. We had the DP and reckon we nailed it with 4 days to go. Pretty easy with a little glass of Prosecco @£6.25.
  9. There was a toilet on our coach problem was when you went in for a pee you were fit and healthy but came out bruised to heck.😀
  10. This morning getting off Britannia on disembarkation form all passengers travelling on Eavesway,Intercruises and other cruise companies were instructed to wait in Meridian restaurant for 08:30 debark. This started at 08:30 by a section of the restaurant at a time,,,it still took an hour for our Eavesway coach to fill up.
  11. Returned from Britannia today,,,,Sindhu was shut for the whole 2 weeks. We requested a table for 2 in Meridian at 18:30 and told lady we liked a pre dinner drink in Atrium before Dinner. The lady usually bleeped us at 19:30. You could walk in if you were willing to share. There is still staff shortages,,,when you actually get in the restaurant after maybe 1 hr wait you find half the tables in the restaurant empty. Never used the App on phone,,,people getting frustrated when they are 39th in the queue and still 39th over an hour later,,,,,it’s just a case of waiting for those first in to finish dinner. And they were queueing up at 17:30 to get in at 18:00.
  12. When does this start, left Britannia this morning and ALL staff were wearing masks 100% of the time.
