  1. Hi Just rec do the rules for my cruise in two weeks……jipsy is wrong. Vaccination requirements for your holiday For your holiday, all guests aged 18 years and over need to be fully vaccinated* with an approved COVID-19 vaccine a minimum of 14 days prior to travel. If more than 270 days (calculated from the last day of the cruise) have passed since the full completion of a vaccination course, a booster vaccine will be needed and must be administered a minimum of seven days prior to travel. If a further 270 days have passed since your booster vaccine, a second booster vaccination is not required at this time. Fully vaccinated means the two initial covid jabs.
  2. Hi I just read from someone just returned from Azura saying the had a 2 for 1 offer on Guinness. If I buy the DP on my upcoming Britannia cruise and find out on board they have that offer I will be most upset.
  3. Hi Loving your review… I was on a cruise to your beautiful country Norway last week. Unbelievable weather,,,Bergen the wettest city in Europe was a balmy 24deg and sunshine,,,,,,but the price of a beer in Flam turned me into a teetotaller 🙀
  4. Thanks wowzz Im on Britannia in 3 weeks,,,I drink a lot of beer whiskey and coffee. I think I will book the package,Costa coffee alone could cost me £10 a day. So now it’s 5 Guinness and a couple of whiskey and I’m quids in.👍
  5. Hi As I read it the 15 drinks limit is alcoholic drinks,it doesn’t include soft drinks, water or coffee. Am i right?
  6. Hi I the shuttle bus shown in the Horizon above is a P&O shuttle, free if Select only. There is a bus run by the Port of Barcelona called ‘the Blue Bus’,it does a circular route from the terminals to the Columbus Monument one minute from La Rambla. It costs €3 one way €4.5 return,,pay the driver, cash only. The bus is also adapted for wheelchair users with a hydraulic ramp.
  7. So if I take the DP I won’t enjoy my holiday?,,,,,my drinks of choice are Guinness,John Smiths and Jameson’s,I can drink enough of those on the DP and have a very enjoyable holiday thank you. No effort needed. But then I am not one to go to bed after dinner, but will end up in the pub enjoying the craic with others who find it no effort to drink the £39.95 of alcohol whilst enjoying themselves,,,,better still with my loyalty discount.
  8. Mmmm! Half a dozen drinks a day? So if you drink White wine…. 2 watching the football 1 pre-dinner. 1 during dinner 2 after dinner . Throw in a cup of coffee and you are over the £39.95 Not much is it. Ooops,I forgot the G&T in the cabin.
  9. Hi Do you mean you are only allowed two cocktails a day,or the choice is only two?
  10. Hi. Is there any Guinness or Boddingtons/John Smiths bitter on the ship yet? Thanks
  11. Why do non drinkers or those who to profess to only drink one drink a day flood threads that ask if DP’s are worth it,,,,,,,,they add nothing to the question,of course it’s not worth it for them. I like a drink,I don’t get drunk,I don’t abuse people or sway all over the place. I just filled in the ready reckoned for myself for a medium number of drinks… A couple of beers pre dinner,,,a wine with dinner, another 3 or 4 beers after dinner in the show lounge or pub and a Macchiato and whisky nightcap,,,,,it came to £79. I don’t drink alcohol during the day so port days mean nothing,,,most people drink at night,,,ships sail at night. I am on Britannia in 3 weeks so will probable snatch their hand off,,,,,I will buy it on day2 after seeing my spend on day 1.
  12. I only drink Jameson’s as my preferred spirit,I have only done 9 Celebrity cruises and Jameson’s has been on the Classic on every one. Now if you are talking about Irish,,,my other drink is Guinness which is also shown on Premium but not on Classic but being $9 I have always got it on the Classic, except for my last cruise in April from Southampton when they had none in stock,,not on the cruise after either. Because of that my last x3 cruises since then has been on Cruise lines I know will stock Guinness.
  13. Found carpark OK although One end of Boundry St was closed off the diversion took you down along Great Howard St then a right down side streets to the carpark. You will see CPS personnel and minibuses waiting to direct you. It is a pice of waste ground with no line markings and you will be parked nose to tail. Came off Borealis yesterday and operation to the CPS carpark worked Ok. Bags taken from cabin straight to carpark. You will be given tags marked Carpark with group #1 to 7. Bare in mind if you are first into the car park it’s best if you are in the last group, you will be boxed in. If you are in the back row against the railway wall there will be probably 5+ rows in front of you to get away first before you can,,,,,,they call group numbers out to disembark from ship. We we’re in Group 4 and got called at 08:00,,,I was in the second row from the back. Some alongside me were stuck,I managed to squeeze between 2 cars in front.
  14. Hi Do they currently have Guinness or John Smiths/Boddingtons on board. They didn’t on my April 21st cruise or the one after.
  15. Hi There was a good balanced article in the UK newspaper,,The Guardian last week re the good and bad of US tipping culture,,and how some eateries are moving away from that model,,,and some who did move away moved back. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwih_4qz0eL5AhUpSEEAHbrVAM0QFnoECAkQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theguardian.com%2Flifeandstyle%2F2016%2Faug%2F14%2Frestaurants-no-tipping-policies-effects-portland&usg=AOvVaw16R-Z0BW5J6nQmDXRT-3zy Some of the comments on the piece are interesting.
  16. The description gives you a clue,,it’s a Hop on/Hop off. There could be 20 stops on the route,,the cruise terminal being one, people get on and off every stop. The HoHo bus stop outside the terminal will be pay on the bus or a company rep will be selling tickets,,,,same at all the other stops. Example…one of the best HoHo buses in my opinion is Barcelona,,there is probable 20 stops on 3 routes.people from all over the world getting off and on.
  17. Hi I have no problem if Celebrity raises the level of Gratuities knowing that the crew will get the benefit in higher wages. Or am I being naive?
  18. Yeh!! Found a gate on Boundary St.just behind the van before the railway bridge. Notice on the map directions for L5 9UD takes you to Shadwell St.
  19. Hi Barbara I have looked at Google Earth,I have looked at Google Maps,I have looked at post#3. I have even done street view from The Strand to Beers timber yard. On street view I can’t see an entry into that waste ground we can all see. I can see entry into Beers where the CPS car park is.they are on Shadwell St and Athol St. By asking the simple question where is the entrance and hoped that someone who has used the car park may enlighten me. I don’t think you have used the car park so you are seeing what I see,so can’t help me. ps I live 30 mins from the car park so believe me I will have no problem finding it. Wether I go via the M57 through Bootle,,,down through Islington along St Anne St or through Garson along the Strand down Great Howard St. Im going down through Otterpool so I see the ship early. All I’m asking is,,,,,what street do I take a left off Great Howard St to the car park entrance.
  20. Hi Barbara. But in Google maps L5 9UD also covers Shadwell St and Athol St. My SiL works for Merseyside Police he might look for me. I could get a taxi but the £15 difference is not worth the hassle,,I’d rather drive myself.
  21. Hi I have booked CPS parking at Liverpool for next Monday,,do you know the exact street the entrance is in? Thanks
  22. Hi Thanks for the info. But I wasn’t talking about hotels but seeing that part of Iceland that to me is most interesting. I found the Golden Circle tour very interesting,,,the sights from Akureyri to me were a pale imitation. As you said Thingvellir National Park is the most important and interesting part of Iceland, not being able to see it would be like visiting NY and not being able to see the Satue of Liberty. I should imagine being on a ship during Culture Day would add to the enjoyment of the place. ps As for tours……the buses were free and running all day in Reykjavik. The last time I did the Golden Circle the minibus never touched the city centre. To miss seeing this, the scene of the worlds first parliament and the example of the tectonic plate and the story told about it is to miss what Iceland is about. Thingvellir National Park. One leg in each continent…
