  1. I didn’t mention sea state in my post,,, As for the Med being rough…not often but it does have its moments.
  2. I remember reading on CC when Beyond was in the Med people were sleeping on the sofa’s in the atrium/Martini Bar area to try to get some respite from the noise in their cabins.
  3. Nice looking ship shame about that orange monstrosity stuck on the side.
  4. The OBC amount is dependent on the length of cruise. Over 10 days it’s $800. Ive just booked a 10nt cruise from Southampton for May 23,two of us in cabin=$800 OBC.
  5. Hi I prefer Guinness. OK then,,,don’t forget the Jameson’s whiskey in Cork,,,,it’s distillery is in Middleton,Cork. I was on a Ireland/Iceland cruise before lockdown and the ship (Reflection.) had no Guinness except bottles of Foreign Extra,,,,even the Irish on board couldn’t drink it,,,except a man form Cobh who drank it with water!!!! He liked it weak/watery just like Murphy’s.😉
  6. Hi And don’t forget the Guinness in Cork/Cobh. Not sure overnights in Copenhagen/Stockholm add any value.
  7. Hi What demand is there if they are the opening prices? #1…Not in the UK. #2…Thats a good idea. #3..Thats a better idea.but if I do this and the prices drop,,,,too late I’ve booked under #2.
  8. Hi jelayne. Trouble is here in the UK we can’t just reprice,,,,and we don’t have refundable deposits. I hear of US cruisers booking 6/7 cruises then picking just one and getting deposit refunds on the others. For us in the UK and presumable the US that just pushes the price up.
  9. I’ve noticed…..why? I see on this forum ships still sailing at ~65%/70% capacity from US. Most Silhouette sailings this summer from UK have been as good as full. That will change when Beyond comes over at the prices I’m seeing. An Ionic Suite @ £76000 for a 13 day cruise? You can buy a house in some towns for that in the UK.😉
  10. Hi It won’t be a new ship in two years.!! Celebrity cruises from Southampton in 2022 weren’t going for a song,,,I went on one. I am pricing up a few cruise lines for 2024 i they come out far far better priced than Celebrity from Southampton.
  11. Yes,the 2nd para was from a Social media post which I totally agreed with. As did many of the posters on that platform.
  12. Hi I came back from a cruise on P&O a few weeks ago,14 nights Southampton to the Med. We paid £145 pppn in a balcony with a DP. The cheapest cruises from Southampton tend to be Norway Fjords,,,,you can get plenty under £1500/£2000 for 2 for 7 nights,,,,Celebrity are pricing them (I’ve just done a dummy booking) at £4390. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.😉
  13. “Palma: Love this port. Did a train trip from Sollar. Loved it but the walk down to the Sollar port was a major hike on cobblestones and narrow streets with cars rushing by. Worth it but you need to be ready to walk more than they inferred in the“ Hi Den Just for info maybe for others doing the trip in future.. You must have missed the tram that goes down the hill from Soller to Port Soller. No need to walk down.
  14. Hi The one I was looking at was £610 pppn for a bog standard IV balcony. Luxury cruise line pricing by a mainstream cruise line. Celebrity just doesn’t deliver the product any more to justify those prices IMO.
  15. Hi Thanks for your advice. Thats exactly what I aim to do…..don’t spend with them that is.
  16. Hi The prices are out for Apex sailings 2024 from Southampton. Heres an example of a 13 nt to the Med in the cheapest IV balcony. I don’t think so!! As we say over here ‘They are avin a lard’.
  17. Tried yesterday to book a cruise,,,no option to book DP. The only option was to pre-pay tips. Tried again today still the same. Im in the UK.
  18. Hi One person can upgrade,,,,,my wife only drinks Prosecco so she stays on Classic. I like to try all whiskeys so I upgrade.
  19. Hi Yes it covers drinks in the Glass House,,,if the price is less than £6.95. The large glass of house wine (250ml) is £9. The DP only covers spirits in single measures,,,but they are branded.
  20. Not long back off Britannia, had the DP. You don’t get the house wine…you can choose from the wine menu as long as the price per glass is under £6.95 A 125ml glass of Prosecco is £6.25,,,,there is no such thing as a large glass of Prosecco.x6 glasses and you are quids in. The cheapest large glass of wine (250ml) is £9. As for spirits and beer almost everything on the ship is included.
  21. Hi Probably Wensleydale & Cranberry…..lovely.
  22. Hi You should try the other market that Jim mentioned I think it’s the Central Market. Food stalls on the ground floor,,,upstairs is the food stalls cooking the fresh food from downstairs,,,open upstairs until midnight. Florence is one of my favourite cities. I can recommend a book called ‘The rise and fall of the Medici’ by Christopher Hibbet. It helps to relate to the history of the city.
  23. Hi Jim Did you rub the wild boars nose in Florence market?
  24. Well done on the free bus today that’s unusual in my experience. Hope you enjoy Majorca it one of Brits favourite holiday places. Tip..for those who love shoes there is one street in Palma called ‘Calle Sindicato’ that is all shoe shops.real leather.
  25. I asked for an Irish Coffee last week and was told it wasn’t on the DP.
