  1. Why does Celebrity exaggerate transfer times when selling shuttle tickets….. Palma centre by public bus from terminal is 10 mins and cost €2,,X say 20 mins and charges $10. Water bus from La Seyne into Toulon is no more than 10-15 min and costs €4 return. Celebrity say 30 mins and charges $20
  2. Beers at 4 quid? when was the last time you went on a P&O cruise.? I was on Britannia a week ago and there was no beers at 4 quid. Peroni, pint £5.20 Stella Artois, pint £5.00 Budweiser, 330ml bottle £4.50 Old Speckled Hen, 500ml £4.75 Guinness draught can 440 ml can £4.75 IPA, £5.15per pint Doesnt take many to reach the cost of BP if you add in coffee, water, soft drinks etc.
  3. You don’t need a daily calculator to work out the fact that the DP with discount is £36.50. I know that my wife will drink x6 Proseccos a day at £6.25 a go. 6 x 6.25 =37.50. Easy peasy.
  4. Am I being a bit cynical here? Maybe the problem is the Drink Package,,,it seems ships/lines that don’t push the AI have plenty of floor servers to make sure people spend in the bars. And lines who push the AI packages need to reduce the waiting staff in bars to maintain the profit by introducing AI. Especially when more drink is consumed on Transatlantic cruises.
  5. I came back of Britannia last Sunday,,,I bought the drink package for £1050 ish with loyalty discount. I drink John Smiths,Guinness and Jameson’s. My wife only drinks Prosecco,,,there is only one size for Prosecco= small,,,,and at £6.25 a glass only 6 glasses were needed to break even. x2 before dinner,x2 during dinner,x2 after dinner. I believe we nailed it without really trying with 4 days spare…..don’t forget we also had coffee and those small tins of water,,,,and soft drinks. And without late nights as the ship died a death at 23:00 hrs.
  6. A tip. I was in Palma cruise port 2 weeks ago. From the terminal to the Cathedral is a nice 45 min walk. The #1 local bus outside the terminal costs €1.5 takes 10-15 mins. There is an HoHo bus outside the terminal cost €20? Better than the cruise lines $10 shuttle.
  7. I was on a P&O cruise last week, hardly anyone stood at the bar,if you did order the barman gave your card to a waiter to serve you. There were at least 7/8 waiters in a bar the size the Sky Lounge. They just took your order on a tablet, scanned your card,,the order went to the bar,,,by the time the waiter got to the bar the drink was on the bar waiting,,,,once you were registered on the tablet they didn’t even scan your card. Even P&O can modernise.
  8. When I read threads like this or indeed reviews. I take no notice of the everything was superb, likewise everything was awful. I will believe the middle for diddle, some things were good, some things were bad. I feel they are reporting with no prejudice or agenda.
  9. Returned from Britannia last Sunday,to people who say P&O lack entertainment. Here is a list of performers for evening entertainment on that 14 nigh cruise. Headliners Theatre Company. Pulse party band. Britannia orchestra. George Wilding,,guitar, busker. Michelle Farqhuarson,,singer Micheal Wroblewski,,,pianist. In the Limelight club…. 4 Poofs & a piano. Hayley Tamaddon. Eric & Ern. Guest Artists. Neil Lockwood,,ex ELO lead singer after Jeff Lynne left. Herbie Adams..comedian. The Flyrights,,Soul and Motown. Issy- Pearse - Higham….5’ rock singer. Joe Little…comedian. Andrew Browning,,,,George Micheal tribute. Aaron Kavanagh..Elton John tribute….allegedly!!! John Clegg,,comedy impressionist. There was also ballroom dancing every night with the dance hosts.
  10. I was on the same cruise and enjoyed it. I am glad to read the moaners on this topic say they will never cruise P&O again,I find they are the type who perpetually moan on board, spoiling my cruise. One of the reasons we ask for a table for two in the MDR. No marmalade and jam in little dishes,,probably because the same moaners get more than they need, hence waste….. ps there was jam and marmalade in little dishes last week on Britannia.
  11. Returned on Sunday from Britannia also.Good time had by all. We had the DP and reckon we nailed it with 4 days to go. Pretty easy with a little glass of Prosecco @£6.25.
  12. There was a toilet on our coach problem was when you went in for a pee you were fit and healthy but came out bruised to heck.😀
  13. This morning getting off Britannia on disembarkation form all passengers travelling on Eavesway,Intercruises and other cruise companies were instructed to wait in Meridian restaurant for 08:30 debark. This started at 08:30 by a section of the restaurant at a time,,,it still took an hour for our Eavesway coach to fill up.
  14. Returned from Britannia today,,,,Sindhu was shut for the whole 2 weeks. We requested a table for 2 in Meridian at 18:30 and told lady we liked a pre dinner drink in Atrium before Dinner. The lady usually bleeped us at 19:30. You could walk in if you were willing to share. There is still staff shortages,,,when you actually get in the restaurant after maybe 1 hr wait you find half the tables in the restaurant empty. Never used the App on phone,,,people getting frustrated when they are 39th in the queue and still 39th over an hour later,,,,,it’s just a case of waiting for those first in to finish dinner. And they were queueing up at 17:30 to get in at 18:00.
  15. When does this start, left Britannia this morning and ALL staff were wearing masks 100% of the time.
  16. Been to the Fjords several times, last time last month. The weather in the Norwegian Fjords can be mixed at the best of times even in Summer. I have been in July and it rained every day. Been in May and it’s been lovely sunshine. I prefer May as with the melting snow the waterfalls are at their magnificent best. On my cruise last month they were down to a trickle.
  17. Hi Its apt that the video is set in Blackpool in the North of England. I think Sue and family came from the area and she cut her teeth on the Blackpool Workingmens Club circuit.
  18. Thank you for your reply,I will bear your comments in mind and consider posters feelings next time. I was just posting from personal experience.
  19. Hi With 60 years of practice ordering drinks at a bar I think I know how to go about it🤔 Btw it’s even worse when the man seats his lady on the chair and he stands behind. Its now a couple of layers to get through,,if it’s a group of friends it’s worse, especially if they insist on having a conversation with the bar person about their families. The Passport Bar before dinner I find the worst example. Its made worse as the seats in Passport and Ensemble are touching each other,,,no gaps to squeeze into.
  20. Those who sit at the bar (bar flies ) are similar to sun lounge hoggers. Get your drink and move letting those that want a drink to get in. Why when you say ‘excuse me’ do the bar flies move their shoulders together with the look that says you are intruding on my enjoyment. Or they force you to shout your order over their shoulders, then complain you don’t need to be that loud. Well!! I wouldn’t if you move.
  21. Her son played in a band called Tenors of Rock who where regulars on Celebrity. As we say in the UK..Sue is a good pub singer.
  22. Hi I was in Flam x3 weeks ago there is now the worlds first all electric boat,it sails from Flam to Gudvanger called Vision of the Fjords. Its silent like a Tesla on water.
  23. Hi The Briksdal glacier is the most underwhelming experience in Norway,,,it’s slowly receding and you can’t get anywhere near unless you are a mountaineer.
  24. I was in Flam 3 weeks ago,you can book a train ticket on line far cheaper then P&O. There is a little Land Train that goes up the valley and around the other side of the fjord for great photos of the ship. There is a brew pub but be aware a bottle of beer is £10,,,there are other shops selling Norwegian apparel. Photo of Flam.
