  1. @Jorg_

There are so many 2 tops that you will not have to wait too long even if you arrive at peak time.   The norm for booking in the MDR is when you want a large group to be seated together, say 6-10.   Above 10 you would have to book as they have to move furniture.

I have been in an MDR when a group of 16 just turned up "demanding" a single table.  It took a long time to get it "sorted"!!   With lots of ill feeling on both sides, not that the Maître d' and Restaurant Manager lost their cool!!

  2. One of the NCL debark tours from Civitavecchia to Fiumicino states " you’ll be dropped off at a central location where you’ll have approximately two hours of free time. "

Does anyone know the likely central locations please?

Similarly the other states "...  free time for lunch before rejoining your coach to head towards St. Peter's Square. Here you’ll visit the Basilica, "

Again does anyone know the stopping place for the lunch stop and also know how far from St Peter's Square the coach park is please?

    Thank you

    Mike

We were on the Star a number of years ago from BA to SF.   At Santiago lots of "crew" members arrived and the rest of the cruise was a bit of a shambles as work was going on all over the place before it was going into dry dock in SF.

You will probably find that there will be work going on all over the place.   Probably small stuff but enough to annoy.

You have received a discount, looks like 10%; she hasn't .

If you want to see your wife's you will need to log-in with her Latitudes number or ask your PCC.

The savings are probably a % discount on the theoretical fare that they offered at one time in "Free at Sea".   If you look at the website there is always a crossed out fare above the quoted fare.

Give me Bovril every time!!   Oxo would be #2.  Vegemite and Marmite #s 98 and 99!!

I would recommend that when you are considering a cruise  get on to the Roll Call in two or three places.   The Roll Call of the cruise you are interested in; the Roll Call of the next couple of cruises the same ship is doing and the Roll Call of the last and present cruise the ship is doing.

All are VERY good sources of information such as you are looking for.

I suspect that you spoke with a Guest Services "clerk" and not with a Financial Officer.

I also assume that you paid with a GBP credit card and that the currency on the ship was USD!!   As I said in an earlier post "PAPERWORK"!!

Also they have no idea if the credit card you used to make the booking is still extant.   If it isn't the funds are returned and life gets VERY difficult; been there done that.
