Nothing really "special", where it is held depends on the ship but is usually in one of the MDRs.    The usual menu with, maybe, a special meal available.   Plenty of free wine (a little less of a draw now that so many people have the package).   Nice way to meet some of the officers, often ones you will never come across: the doctor, chief security officer and so on.

  2. Jade 4 cruises  November & December.

NO Dining with Officers.  No Ship Tour.   Yes Wine Swilling, you couldn't call it a Wine TASTING (we tried tow, no difference).   Yes Mixology Experience, not an EXPERIENCE we intend to repeat (Went once, once too many!!)

    And NO no OBC.

We did get a bottle of wine at the first Latitudes Cocktail Party as the most days on NCL.   The "Boss" changed and no one got one on the later cruises.

  3. I wonder how many people just turn on the TV or Phone when the Muster has to be watched and then go to do something else!!!

I detest the outside on in the heat or rain; waiting for people to turn up, waiting for them to start listening, and seeing my wife in pain from having to stand for far too long.

However it assures that people are actually "involved"

White Bay looks like a more interesting trip through the harbor, though...

The only difference is the last "30" minutes after you have gone under the bridge.   You can see this with a walk from Circular Quay round The Rocks and Dawes Point.

Give me Circular Quay every time so close to the City Centre.

I have just looked at Google Maps; try using public transport to get from White Bay to the city if you are B2B.

Also to or from White Bay will need a taxi from anywhere in the Sydney area.   Circular Quay is on a direct rail line or a ferry from "everywhere".

  5. They are upping the DSC by USD4 per person/day and this is the start of also removing some Daily Services.

    Which are next?

Same plate for starter and main?   Same glass if you have red wine and then white?  Carry your own napkin to breakfast, lunch and dinner before getting a clean one for the next day?   Daily limit on the value of drinks in the "Free" package?

There should be the Group Coordinator at a desk where the M&G is being held.   (S)he will have a sign in sheet that requires, CC name, personal name and cabin number and will give out those cards when people do sign in.   This ensures that only CC members are able to attend; I have had walk-up who just want the free feed!!   Or to be a nuisance in asking a very personal question that has NO place at the M&G.

I make sure that I have a copy of the list of those who have indicated personally to me that they intend to attend just in case there is a change of time, day or venue and give a copy to her/him so each person can be notified.

  7. Remember that where there is an "Exchange Rate" involved then the rate for the cruise on any one day may well be different to the charge offered the day before or the day after.

In New Zealand we sometimes see an overall cost change on a daily basis if there is a large Exchange Rate change, certainly a cruise fare change on an almost weekly basis.
