  1. It could be a problem on your end. Clear your cache and history as well. Try a different network.
  2. The Status Match has quirks at times. Before our first MSC cruise, I was able to receive my status match before I actually booked our cruise. But it would not allow my wife to apply until we had an actual booking number. If it doesn't allow you to receive it, other CC posters have had it applied retroactive once they actually booked their cruise.
  3. We like sailing aboard the Fantasia-class ships of MSC in Europe. Last year we were in YC aboard the Splendida, and this year's in two Fantastica Balconies to keep costs down aboard the Preziosa. Yes, YC is nice. I think even better than Viking Ocean! But Fantastica was fine for the price paid. Never saw any craziness sailing from Hamburg. We are doing two YC cruises next year with MSC. First is aboard the Splendida again for 9-night Greece/Turkey cruise followed by a 20-night Grand Voyage to Miami aboard the Divina. Pricewise the Grand Voyage is only $100.00 more a night than our usual cruise line's 14-day Tranatlantic. I also like planning my whole trip with airlines, hotels and trains.
  4. It should be fine. We were in YC last year aboard the MSC Splendida but just disembarked last month from the MSC Preziosa after a 10 night cruise, this time in Fantastica balconies. It was to keep costs down as we were paying for DSIL as well and had two staterooms. Our bookings included the WiFi and Easy Plus drink package. The staterooms were serviced twice a day and we certainly were not wanting compared to YC drink wise. The only slightly negative item was Set Early Dining which we haven't had for probably five years. We soon acclimated to it and ate in the MDR 9 of 10 nights. Obviously we were around more passengers but at 4,000 on this cruise, it still did not feel crowded. Yes, YC is nice and our next two MSC cruises we are back in YC. But Fantastica was fine.
  5. Correct! I looked back at our confirmation and it does show it as a BL2 as we were Fantastica. Cruisedeckplans is not correct in their listing. Unfortunately MSC does not list their classifications on their deck plans to be able to compare. But for an extra $60.00 on a ten night cruise it was worth it.
  6. I would cancel your booking with the travel agent. Then work with a MSC Concierge to manage your new booking. There are five decks that each have two Interior IS Bella cabins that can open to either of two BL3 Balcony staterooms. That means 20 variations are possible.
  7. Passenger decks start at Corallo Deck Five for OV and Interior. Perhaps you were thinking of a different ship?
  8. These are pictures of 11139 (a connecting cabin as we were traveling with DSIL) on the MSC Preziosa on Giada Deck 11. Surprising to me and contrary to what other posters have said, it is classified as a BM2 Junior Balcony-Medium Deck(?). The size is listed as having 194 sq. ft with the balcony as 42 sq.ft. on cruisedeckplans and was certainly spacious enough compared to a HAL Verandah. There is over two feet at the foot of the bed and it had a full size couch. My suggestion is, unless you are set on an Interior to book a balcony. Another suggestion is to join the Voyagers Club and use the status match. If you are still a year out from this cruise, there are additional benefits including a 5% + 5% discount. Showing the generous space at the foot of the bed. Looking towards the hallway door. The full size couch. It was not a sleeper couch.
  9. We are 4* on HAL but gave MSC a try last year aboard the MSC Splendida. This year we sailed on the MSC Preziosa from Hamburg. We are sold on MSC and booked two more European cruises with MSC for 2024. The Fantasia-class I feel are a perfect size and even though we had 4,000 passengers onboard the Preziosa, never really felt crowded per se. I can't speak on Interior Staterooms or Guarantees as we have done neither with MSC. My suggestion is to find a deckplan that shows the Interior staterooms. Our Junior Balcony was on Deck 11 a bit more forward than we found that we cared for with the MDR restaurant that we we were assigned to (L'Arabesque) and the Inca/Maya Buffet at the rear of the ship. But just a little bit of extra walking required. I would also suggest requesting a call back from a MSC Concierge via the website and then working with them. These are not the representatives that answer the 800- phone line but dedicated cruise consultants. For our two previous cruises we have booked online. But a concierge contacted us and is now our Concierge regarding a Grand Voyage cruise that was not showing online. As soon as it showed available for booking he contacted us. It gives you an informed reprsentative to speak to that can help manouver a MSC booking. We booked it through him, and also booked a cruise while onbaird the Preziosa with the MSC Future Cruise Consultant. When we returned home, I transfered the booking to our concierge as well.
  10. Could your problem be your internet provider? It is Sunday morning and I was able to access my account without a problem. If your phone is a different provider, try logging in on that instead of your computer.
  11. Thank you Rich, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. And thank you everyone for being here! Have a great Sunday! Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need. - Jack
  12. We like Deck 15 on the Fantasia-class for easy access to the Top Sail Lounge. We were on the MSC Splendida in YC on Deck 15 last year. And for next year have booked Deck 15 again on MSC Splendida in YC and the MSC Divina in YC for the Fall Grand Voyage to Miami.

  17. A few of my photos from our visit to Kiel aboard the Zuiderdam in 2017. We took the train to Lubeck about an 1-1/2 hours away. - Jack Statue of Otto von Bismark in Lubeck The Holsten Gate built in 1464, now a museum. Along the Trave.
  18. Thank you Rich, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. And thank you everyone for being here! It is a day of reflection for me as it is the the first anniversary of my brother's passing. We have been to Kiel on our Battic cruise aboard the Zuiderdam. We elected to take the train that day to visit Lubeck. The advise was to "follow the Blue Line" to the Hauptbahnhof. We actually crossed the Hochdonn High Bridge over the Kiel Canal 2-1/2 weeks ago while traveling by train from Hamburg to Copenhagen. It was constructed in 1920 and Rises to 136ft. above the Canal. For those fans of the Prinsendam, I happen to find yesterday an excellent video recorded on September 22 this year of the AMERA arriving in Cobh, Ireland. The videographer had also recorded our arrival and departure while we were aboard the MSC Preziosa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmO5Rg5DHtE Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need. - Jack
  19. We sailed in YC last year aboard its sistership, MSC Splendida. The Top Sail Lounge has the same layout as Fantasia compared to the other two, MSC Divina and MSC Preziosa which are slightly different. Some complain about the YC restaurant on the Fantasia-class being aft but we find that after our meal that we should walk a bit. Your butler will escort you the first evening to the restaurant using Deck 7. We found it easier on our own to use Deck 13 without all the passenger traffic of Deck 7. In YC they literally wait on you constantly and it is a real treat. Enjoy your cruise!
  20. We were on the Preziosa in Europe. I would say that the bar waiters were not hovering to take our order but was slightly slower than I am accustomed to. Not a 20 minute wait though. By the way, prices are in Euros with that download. And they only charged the difference (3.50 Euro) when my wife ordered an Ultimate Mai Tai. Enjoy your cruise!
  21. Here is the download which might be easier to read. QR_K_BAR-LIST-GENERIC_OTHER_DAYX_EN_1694962984.pdf
  22. Interesting to read about Ada Lovelace. I just finished reading the recently published "The Wager" by David Grann. It is an account of a British warship shipwrecked on the coast of Brazil during the futile War of Jenkin's Ear with Spain. Aboard was John Byron, Midshipman, the grandfather of Lord Byron and hence the great-grandfather of Ada Lovelace. There were many trials and tribulations endured by the crew that originally numbered over 400 (that included starvation, mutiny, and even cannabalism) of which approximately 30 men survived. Through fortune, John Byron survived and his lineage continued. For those considering sailing or have sailed around Cape Horn and through Drake's Passage, it is a fascinating read!
  23. Thank you Rich, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. And thank you everyone for being here! We arrived in Wellington by train in July 2007 from Auckland. I Will try to post my photos of our three days there. Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need. 😁 - Jack
  24. Very true! Our tender port in Stornoway favored the MSC-booked excursions. They did not open tendering for other passengers until all of the excursions passengers were off. It took about three hours.
  25. Looking at marinetraffic.com for the MSC Musica, it currently shows the Musica at Santorini. There is no future route forecast shown. The next scheduled port is Kusadasi
