  1. Do those that say the pax are over 80 do you go around & ask people their age? Looks can be deceiving I have met some 80 year olds that can run circles around me
  2. I do not think they ticket you until 45 days out You can always ask them to do it now so you can book seats if required
  3. If you let them know ahead of time they can make you something Make sure you have it noted in your file if you are Vegan do not rely on just walking into dinner & have something on the menu
  4. I would look at 1pm or later noon at the earliest you probably need to be there 3 hrs prior & getting off the ship may not begin until 8 am Ride to airport could be 1 hr with traffic Then I understand you have to go out to the street to pick up a taxi We have embarked in NYC but never disembarked JMO
  5. Did you book while onboard? I would call Oceania again you may get a different answer or if you used a travel agency get them to go to bat for you If your Cabin category is still available they should give you the deal but see what the extra perks will cost you as it probably will 😉
  6. Is your booked cabin category still available ? Did you use a TA? Usually they will honor the new sales but you may end up paying a bit more There are some that posted here on their experience with the deal Welcome to Cruise critic
  7. I do not believe so Just C & B plus inside cabins Check the VISTA they do https://www.oceaniacruises.com/ships/vista/deck-plan-details?deck=07
  8. Maybe keep checking for a PH on deck 7 or 10
  9. How do you know it is not true? No one has been on VISTA yet That said on the O class ships the location near the elevators in not really a problem for noise unless there is a group of loud people getting off the elevators Being over/under the Theater on the R ships you will hear noise toilets systems on all ships we have sailed is a problem with noise no matter where your cabin is JMO
  10. In recent years they combined the entertainment teams I suspect they can get a better deal on food & other supplies They are all run separately AFAIK As for service dogs I believe that is from US ports that allow them under the ADA I believe all lines have to comply so not unique to NCLH Have a read on the Viking Forum for informative info JMO
  11. It depends A lot of moving parts to your question A lot depends on when they decide to cancel & notify the reservations desk You will usually get to keep the time slot but you may be at a 2 top or they may put you at a sharing table Unless you are VIP I would not think you can walk up with others but you never know these days
  12. Well we are taking a chance this year sailing end of Sept/Oct Canada /new England cruise 😲 I am taking my Ginger candy & if we miss ports will deal with it not making any plans ashore we will wing it if we make port booked a cabin low & mid ships just in case 😉 Fingers crossed all goes well
  13. Years ago FDR posted about how they ship containers to the ports to restock supplies so I am guessing this still happens They want to insure safe food in some of the Countries where buying on shore could be a problem for food safety I have seen in some ports the local trucks pull up with fresh fruit/veg & the Chef out there checking it over before he accepts it They also might get fresh local fish as well It is a mixed bag of how they get food supplies
  14. you would think so but sadly not all pax do 😄
  15. Which specialty ? Did you advise the Maitre'd in advance ? OP I am sure RG would not be a problem as they have the bank of tables along the wall
  16. Usually the Dinner Reservations desk on Deck 5 If you have a Butler you can also see what he can do for you
  17. I guess he just needs to be on his best behaviour when checking in with border agent If he is denied boarding then have a great cruise on your own😉
  18. If you have spirits or beer just drink in your cabin Wine you can take the bottle to a dining venue & pay the corkage or drink it in your cabin N/C Do not wander the ship with YOUR onshore purchases in a glass
  19. Have only see a couple of 8 tops in both GDR & Specialties There is a 10 top in GDR but for the Captain you may or may not get to use speak to the Maitre;d well ahead of time
  20. I would call the US Consulate in Toronto & ask what your options are Can he get a Waiver ? https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/admission-forms/form-i-92-application-advance-permission-enter-nonimmigrant?_ga=2.72289175.588663773.1614641377-547071534.1604693033 https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/united-states#entryexit I would not wait until you are at the port to find out the US Border service will not allow him to board the ship JMO
  21. Hope you can find it A friend did the NWP on Crystal a few years ago they loved it
  22. Maybe look at Viking Polaris or Octantis The have less than 400 pax have unusual itineraries no under 18's allowed Unfortunately most line charge more for solo cruisers I think a couple of the Luxury Lines have a low SS rate but then you are basically run of the mill itineraries
