  1. maybe check with the provider of the rates to see what the rules are A friend is retired but still gets the deal but that may be different to what you are looking for
  2. No to deviate you can ask at the 270 day mark Fee is Non refundable once you & O agree on the flights But if you have no other options flying in the same day as sailing O air would be a good fall back plan (I guess) 🤔
  3. only one issue with that if you want to deviate the good flights are booked up by then JMO
  4. also have a look at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/58-first-time-cruisers/
  5. You can check the port schedule https://www.caymanport.com/ship-schedules/ Not seeing Oceania listed though
  6. In the T & C it explains the tours allowed Speculation is tours $200 USD is the max price https://www.oceaniacruises.com/legal/promotion-terms/ OLife Choice free shore excursions vary by voyage and exclude Oceania Select, Oceania Exclusive, Executive Collection, Food & Wine Trails, Wellness Discovery Tours by Aquamar, Go Local and Culinary Discovery Tours.
  7. You were lucky to get an OBC for something so far in advance & out of the cruise lines control
  8. 1st class I would not worry It depends on the gate agent if they will pull you over & make you gate check your bags We left home with a 26" checked the bag then the zipper came apart before we boarded the ship purchased a new bag but it was 28" no problem when we were flying home the check in agent just weighed it & off it went We were in BIZ class I think they are more about the weight in International flights JMO
  9. AHHH Maybe booked up I see the cruise is part of the RTW cruise Hopefully they will be able to get more tour providers However GC is easy to DIY (if you should get there )
  10. As mentioned several times on this forum you do not need to take the air just book the "cruise only fare" Simple & straight forward
  11. I am seeing excursions listed Maybe they were working on the site ?? https://www.oceaniacruises.com/panama-canal-cruises/miami-to-san-francisco-INS221228/port-george-town-GCM/?voyageday=3
  12. When we first sailed O back in 2004 the majority of the PAX were American other Nationalities were maybe 10 % The staff were International ( I miss that mix) Now there are a lot more International Pax but still the US pax are in the lead Staff now is not as diverse as it used to be JMO
  13. There are also companies that have a relationship with some airlines They buy tickets at contracted then sell to Travel agencies for a net "net price" who will add their profit to your ticket They are still cheaper than booking direct but the cancellation fees etc are not that good should you need to cancel
  14. Maybe the 2026 RTW will be a better fit ? if you choose Oceania You could always give some lines a try for 10+ day cruises & see what works best for you Enjoy what ever cruise you choose
  15. You need to check the refund policy of the one you are dealing with Some will give a small refund of what you paid & some are non refundable
  16. RECENT??? It has always catered to the American market IMO
  17. Did you check the 2024 RTW offering? https://www.oceaniacruises.com/around-the-world-cruises/los-angeles-to-new-york-INS240114I/?sr=%2Fcruise-finder%23marketing_region%3D180dayworld%26ship%3DINS%26time_frame%3D2024-1%26sort%3Dfeatured%3Adesc%26page%3D1%26pageSize%3D10
  18. Medicaid?? Maybe ask on the Disabled forum Many cruise lines will provide a shower chair for use just contact special services dept before you board the ship
  19. it could be rocky still the storm may have pasted by the time you sail Take seasick meds with you https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2022/FIONA_graphics.php?product=5day_cone_no_line The cruise line may change the route but before you cancel I would make sure you read the fine print of your insurance contract some do not refund the full amount JMO
  20. it states no more than 72 hrs prior to boarding you should be OK now All travellers are required to: complete ArriveCAN no more than 72 hours of initially boarding the cruise. This includes: any traveller who recently submitted ArriveCAN to enter Canada via land or air https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise#boarding-excursions
