What is an "L" shaped cabin?

Hi, I'm not finding the info I need... please help?

We are planning on spending the day at Secrets Resort while in Montego Bay. The resort will provide transportation for $50 round trip 1-4 guests. Since there are only 2 of us, I'm thinking that is pretty steep. Any idea how much a taxi would be? Its suppose to be not more than 5 minutes from the port.

Here is the response directly from the hotel...

 

"Thank you for your interest in our resort. We do currently have day passes available at a cost of $119 per person which is subject to change. As you are cruise ship passengers you will get a 50% discount on the rate so it will be $119 for both you and your husband. This will give you access to the resorts’ facilities and activities from 10am through to 6pm. With this you will not however have the use of a room. If you would like to have one arranged you can let me know and I will be more than happy to facilitate. "

 

The excursion thru the ship only has us there from 10-2:30 at $110 per person.

 

FYI - this is an Adults only resort.

I did get that deal! My online TA was great. My agent for this booking was off for the evening, but I got to talk to a service manager who handled the situation for me.

Because I had booked under a "free upgrade" fare, to get this deal I would have to pay an additional $110 to stay in my current category. Well, I like money more than location, so I am now in the lowest of catergories that is not bunk beds. My feeling is that I have 10 weeks to watch for an upgrade that I can puchase.

I've learned alot over the years, but this tip was by far the best for me!

Do you have to book strictly with Carnival to take advantage of the VIFP offers? Following the original posters lead, I registered my husband and he has a fantastic offer for the cruise I booked last week and online TA finally payment was today and Carnival final payment tomorrow. Have sent TA an email, guess time will tell.

After a ton of research (thanks to all of you for the great info) I have decided to rent a car at the airport and return the car to a Canal St location. I am thinking we can drop off luggage, return car and stroll back to the ship.

My only concern is will the entire downtown area be closed due to be a Sunday morning?
