  1. I think you have to try all avenues. I also think you have answered your own question by saying the kids ā€œjust want their Mum backā€ - and that to them is absolutely priceless. Go for it as you would otherwise you will always wonder if this place might have made the pain much more bearable. šŸ˜˜
  2. Ha ha. Thatā€™ll me walking the dog in about an hour!!
  3. Thinking of you @Josy1953. Your poor sisterā€¦ā€¦šŸ˜¢ what a dreadful time for her. There are no words as itā€™s just so sad for you all. Gill x
  4. @TigerB thank you for a comprehensive and informative read. So pleased you had a good cruise. I especially enjoyed reading about all the different eating venues.
  5. Iā€™m on at the beginning of June and going to Norway.ā€¦ā€¦
  6. Finding your report interesting as Iā€™m on Iona for the first time in June. Iā€™m also a solo traveller (but used to Aurora) so am especially interested in how you find it all. Iā€™m thinking itā€™ll be a totally different experience but going with an open mind and so looking forward to it.
  7. @pete14 what a lovely afternoon for a sail away. You are on my favourite ship so Iā€™m looking forward to reading your reports. Have a fabulous timeā€¦ā€¦
  8. @P&O SUE so pleased it all went well yesterday. 5 years old is on the young side for a funeral, but if they are well behaved and can understand that it is not a frightening event - then Iā€™m all for it. Strangely enough Iā€™m not keen on the Asda advert - donā€™t know why (as I like Mr Buble) and I know Iā€™m in the minority as my friends like it too. Perhaps Iā€™m just bah humbug this year as not keen on the John Lewis one either! šŸ˜€
  9. @Josy1953 did you do your volunteer training today? I hope the family are doing ok after such a tragic week for you all. x
  10. I imagine you will be glad to get tomorrow over withā€¦ā€¦. Sending a hug. x
  11. @kalos really good to have you back postingā€¦ā€¦ we have missed you. Sorry to hear about a couple of the issues you had, but glad you and Mrs K had a good holiday otherwise.
  12. I always remember my Dad and my Uncle today who both served in the RAF during WW2. My Dad happily came through, but his brother who served 3 years as a navigator was shot down over France at the age of 21. šŸ˜„
  13. Given that GG said which cabin those ā€œladiesā€ were in, I imagine a few passengers might have done that already! šŸ¤£
  14. Thoroughly enjoyed your blog @Selbourne and I look forward to your Aurora postings from the 65 nighter!
  15. Iā€™ve just seen the video Gareth posted and I think it quite disgraceful that three women (mothers and grandmothers) who should know better behaved like that. I hope P&O look into it, but sadly, unless the incidents were recorded - nothing will happen. What is even sadder, is that his whole life people have continually teased him about his stutter - but to have people do it knowing he was sitting on the next door balcony listening to them, is quite awful.
  16. Wonderful news. Many many congratulations. Hopefully you seen get to see and hold your precious bundle.
  17. Wow. What a good idea. I hope itā€™s fleet wide as didnā€™t see that Aurora a few months ago, but then I wasnā€™t looking for it.
  18. Oh @Josy1953 there are no words which will console you at this moment in time, but all your CC family are thinking of youā€¦ā€¦ Gill x
  19. Freddie hates the fireworks. They were not too bad here thankfully but imo tighter restrictions on the sale of them need to be put in place (but that wonā€™t happen). A sunny but cold start to the day here and how nice to have no heavy rain mentioned in todayā€™s weather forecast.
  20. Awful rain here again too. Looks like a very wet day ahead altho the next few days look better. Gutters due to be cleared this morning - so donā€™t think that will happen šŸ™„šŸ¤£ @Megabear2 take care on the roads and enjoy the party.
  21. Wow. To be home the same day is amazingā€¦ā€¦ 25 years ago my Mum was in hospital for 8 days after a new hip! I hope you had a restful night and any pain is manageable.
  22. Hello. All quiet at the moment in the south of Dorset. We had a couple of thunderclaps around midnight and torrential rain at times during the night, but I donā€™t think the wind has (so far) been anything like I had feared. There are lots of leaves and twigs in the garden, but cannot see much as still dark. I hope everyone is ok. Gill x ps @Josy1953 - Iā€™m sorry your niece is poorly again. Life is really just not fair sometimes.
