  1. Great news but what a worry that was for you all. Enjoy your BH Monday…. Gill x
  2. One exception imo was Steve Larkins who always performed a really good Freddie Mercury show…..
  3. Yes. You will get your boarding time when you do online check around three weeks before you sail.
  4. I hope you are right, and I suspect that the content of their email is currently correct in that the staff have probably not been made “officially” aware of any changes to come, but my gut feeling is that it will happen. Enjoy your cruise…..
  5. I wonder if the cocktails offered are already pre-mixed - I haven’t watched them make the drinks but might explain why they won’t make one that’s not on the menu. I will watch carefully when on Iona in a few weeks time!
  6. My gut feeling is that there is an element of truth in this. Social media is full of it and some are threatening never to book with P&O again! What an over-reaction over a litre of spirits.
  7. Neither of you look like you are in your 60s. Cruising obviously suits you both! 🤣
  8. You are a very good looking couple. Pauline always looks so elegant….
  9. Good morning. Foggy here in Dorset. i see on another well known site that there is a lot of chatter about drink packages going up next week and that only 1litre of wine/champagne will be allowed on embarkation and no spirits. Have a good weekend everyone. Gill x
  10. I think on 1 week cruises (like Iona ones to Norway) there will be a lot more self-disembarking and therefore possibly clogging up the lifts when wheelchair users need to get in. However on longer cruises when many pax will have more than one case each, I think people will still be putting their luggage out at night. My guess is that on the many 1 week cruises available now, there have been too many people leaving the ship during a limited time slot and they are therefore stretching that flow of people out. It will be interesting to see what happens.
  11. Hello. Just back from a few days away in Cheshire. The weather was glorious and we were so lucky not to have any rain. Freddie stayed with the owner of his doggy day care in West Sussex and apparently he didn’t bark or cry during the awful thunderstorm last night. If he had been at home with me he would have barked continuously at it. 🙄 I hope everyone was ok. Loved the Queen Anne pics and especially loved the Iona photo posted by @Ardennais (going myself next month).
  12. @Adawn47 Happy Birthday Avril……. Each birthday achieved is a privilege. Enjoy the day and hopefully you have some celebrations planned. Gill x🎂🎈🎊🎁🎉
  13. On another forum that shall remain nameless, there are so many posts asking how early they can turn up at the terminal to board, and there are so many replies saying to get there early as you’ll probably be let on board.
  14. I saw a little of the Neil Diamond at the BBC last night, but reverted to the snooker when it switched channels. I saw him at the O2 about 10 years ago and he was excellent. Freddie happily goes out in the rain for ablutions and to check the perimeters of his property 🐶. It is somewhat of a nuisance at 3am tho. I hope you are relaxing and taking care of yourself. Gill x
  15. The exact same question has just been asked on another well known P&O Aurora forum 😀. Fingers crossed both posts will get similar answers and if they are both not posted by you, it might be worth looking on there too 🤣🤣🤣.
  16. I had the same problem on my iPad,but could access via android phone. I cleared yesterday’s and today’s history (settings/safari/clear history and website data) and immediately got back in.
  17. I’ve stayed in midship cabins on decks 10, 9, 8 and 6 and never had issues with movement (apart from when a plus force 10 occurs). The only noise you will get from a sea view cabin on deck 6 is if they clean the deck or from people that are heavy footed when walking the deck after 8am.
  18. You can usually deposit your luggage from around 1100. However, P&O are generally very strict about boarding times. You may be lucky to get on a little earlier if there is a lull, but I would suggest only getting there as early as you are prepared to stand in a queue outside the terminal which is not protected from the elements.
  19. @Purdey16 - oh my goodness, that all sounds utterly draining. Make sure you take care of yourself too.
  20. I think you are spot on, as I believe the pax was briefly transferred to the local hospital by ambulance and then later that day flown to Australia. We had to wait a few extra hours in port for the ships doctor and nurse to return.
  21. We had an instance about 12 years ago on a world cruise when a fellow passenger was taken poorly in Papua New Guinea. The patient was flown to Australia (Darwin I think). The doctor told me that it was just as well they had insurance as the flight etc would have cost them 40k. I have no knowledge as to whether this would have been true, but there was no reason to disbelieve him.
