  1. Your invoice may show what rate code you're booked under. Some red flags. A TA having group space for suites is very uncommon. I also looked at the old rates group rates for Dec 2024 on ML and I'm not seeing a suite group rate was ever available from Celebrity. As far as moving an existing booking with a TA to another TA just because you want a different deal, that should never be allowed.
  2. There is a ton of confusion on this topic. The three Ascent sailings in April 2025 are all classed as having a solo supplement at 125%. The standard is considered 200%. If you compare the Ascent March 2025 prices to the April 2025 prices for singles you will see the difference. While we're also on the subject of checking math, percentage difference and percentage increase get used interchangeably. They are not the same. Just a pet peeve 🤓
  3. There may be some exceptions but you can. Under Where to Redeem > Espresso which is the tool agents use for reservations. Using them on your own Cruise Planner purchases is not available yet.
  4. You do not have the tasting menu reserved. You may have seen something that said *from $60 but the price right now for most Beyond cruises is 7-8% off which is $77.99 for the regular menu and $110.99 for the Tasting Menu. Eden prices increased quite a while ago.
  5. The most recent version of the form Celebrity has posted has the 12 month expiration date. They have fluctuated over time. This was last updated Jan 29. Whatever form you use, I would make sure you keep a copy just in case. https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/2023.07_BookLater_TCC_Flex
  6. I've used Sicily Limousine Service. 6 people in a van R/T was 330 euros. Probably has increased slightly by now. No tour just round trip transport. They are very communicative via WhatsApp. I wouldn't trust a taxi without a guarantee ride back to Messina.
  7. Are you sure the deposit is refunded after 6 months? I've never seen that. 6 months is the timeframe where the OBC expires, however the certificate deposit isn't refunded until it goes unused for 12 months.
  8. They are saying the cruise line operates under the premise that they would not be able to fill your cabin (ie they are now the party experiencing the loss due to the late cancellation and subsequent refund) by giving your $10k back. That’s just how insurance works. Your claim via Chase may be a whole different set of frustrations but at least you have some coverage.
  9. It’s been served this way for years in Le Petit Chef. I don’t eat it but I’ve never been offended by the thought of it. I could have sworn they also use similar bits on one of the beef dishes in Luminae. The chili short rib maybe? I’m certain I had them a few weeks ago.
  10. Le Petit Chef is far from fine dining, but chips on lobster is pretty common. They have served it this way since at least 2019, maybe even before that. I can't remember when Qsine went away.
  11. The additional amount off is usually cycled between the discount and additional OBC. The savings is a true deduction from the rate. The cycle is actually pretty straightforward. From 12/6/23 through 4/7/24 the sales will look like this: 75% off the 2nd Guest – Non-Refundable Deposit Rates 50% off the 2nd Guest – Refundable Deposit Rates Additional Bonus Savings: Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday $100 Per Inside or Ocean View Stateroom $200 Per Veranda Stateroom and above (CC, AQ, Retreat) Tuesday/Wednesday $75 Per Inside or Ocean View Stateroom $150 Per Veranda Stateroom and above (CC, AQ, Retreat) Thursday No Additional savings FREE 3RD/4TH/5TH GUEST CRUISE FARE Booking Window: 2/20/24 – 4/7/24 Applicable Sailings: Select Sailings 2/20/24 through 5/7/26 Free 3rd/4th/5th Offer is not combinable with All Included Pricing or Retreat Staterooms
  12. If you book direct and Delta screws up, you contact Delta. If you book via Flights by Celebrity on a ticket from Virgin that is operated by Delta and a problem hits, you now have 3 entities to point fingers at each other to figure it out. Almost every "nightmare" situation related to FBC I see on here has a codeshare flight involved. No one wants to take ownership and fix the problem. A far as airlines, that's totally dependent on who the predominant carriers are in your area. Since Chicago is a big United city, that's usually my most predominant option followed by American.
  13. RCG better be watching. Haiti essentially has no government. The gangs causing the mayhem do not care about making a cruise line happy. 130 miles away from Labadee, in the past 24 hours, 4,000 inmates escaped a prison. If they really wanted to get some attention, some razor wire and some guards who may work for the gangs aren't going to do a thing. RCG also has deep pockets and a growing number of behemoth ships that really can't go that many places so they will try to maintain it as long as possible.
  14. They have not stacked the discount, even accidentally, that I have heard of in a long time.
  15. Exactly why you should never book a codeshare through Flights by Celebrity. Or any third party. When it looks like this and says *Operated by ______ don't book it.
  16. Right. That part is speaking to Future Cruise Credits which are no longer issued. You can still book a NRD, change the sail date or ship and only be penalized $100 per person. Previous to this change that went into place March 2, 2023, if you cancelled a NRD you could get a FCC to use within a year. They no longer offer that.
  17. You still see a fair number of suits and jackets. I wore a dark emerald green velvet jacket on my last cruise. I also have a teal suit, a burgundy suit and a light pink jacket that I often take. I've never felt overdressed or out of place. Actual tuxedos will be far out numbered by suits, but don't let it hold you back.
  18. Ultimately, yes. While most resorts and All Inclusives still give you a nonrefundable option at a lower cost, the cruise line is trying to avoid that cabin sailing empty. If it's empty, it's guaranteed to be empty and producing no revenue for the duration of the cruise, Sunday to Sunday for instance. The resort on the other hand could have the room cancelled but then has the added flexibility to fill it with a guest arriving any day for any combination of days between Sunday to Sunday. People booking multiple 'back up cruises' to decide on later and filling the high price suites at deployment then canceling at day 91 are the root of the cause for Celebrity's more stringent deposit price and refund options.
  19. There are at least two versions of the website in use right now. Safari and Chrome may look different. I think what you're getting as is that you prefer the Chrome version. If there is only 1 iterinary that fits your search parameters you will have to click through either way. Chrome: Safari: Outside of that, there are a few TA's that have really archaic websites that show each category in a simple grid. Looks like it's from the early 90's but it serves the purpose. Of course there are multiple variables in the pricing if you go that route.
  20. You pick which option you want just like if you were booking online on your own.
  21. Flights by Celebrity can certainly be challenging to work with. Some tips if you do book with them... Do not book 11 months out. You will have several flight changes as airlines change schedules. Do not book codeshare flights (i.e. sold by Virgin operated by Delta). Know the airlines rules and fees, especially for seat selection and bags, because you are still responsible for those additional costs.
  22. Amuse-bouche and a palette cleanser are two totally different things. They are not interchangeable and you definitely would not serve that beet amuse-bouche that they love as a pallet cleanser. In Luminae they still serve an amuse-bouche before serving appetizers. I can’t recall a palette cleanser being served between courses since early 2022 on Reflection. Maybe they do in Murano but I haven’t dined there in at least 2.5 years.
  23. You would be repricing your cruise at prevailing rates. Since the rates typically increase as you get closer to the sail date, your gamble is if the NRD fare is actually lower than your previously booked Refundable fare. The easy solution to avoiding the extra cost is what was previously mentioned by finding a TA with group rates.
  24. You can choose any cabin in the category that is available. TA’s do not hold specific cabins. For example if the TA has 5 C1’s in their group they can sell any 5 C1 cabins at the group rate they secured. However they won’t have group space available in all cabin categories.
  25. No stairclimbers. The free weights are okay but the area is very small and there are usually a few people who commandeer the whole area and make it a challenge. There are lots of videos of the gym on YouTube. HIIT classes are usually between 8 and 10. Maybe look at a current sailing for a better idea. I know I've done them early around 8am on an S Class ship, maybe it was Reflection, because I was one of two signed up. The trainer was a giant Slovak man who I'm fairly sure was trying to get me to barf. Definitely had no need for other workouts on that ship after a 45 minute class with him.
