  1. I don't think twice about the exchange rates. Sometimes I use peso, or dollars, or charge to Mastercard and have even used American Express. I don't plan on buying much or spending much. Personally it seems too much like work to figure out and I don't see the return as being worth anything. I know some people like the challenge - I'm not one of them.
  2. and soon I will be leaving to board the ship!!! once I cram everything back into my suitcases.
  3. Carnival isn't doing anything different from here. This isn't on Carnival. How do these people even find the dining room?
  4. As I understand it, 150% of statistics are made up - at a minimum. Nobody has a 100% retention rate, and repeat customers don't grow the business or build new ships anyway. It takes new customers for that. As for old customers, nobody is irreplaceable. As for loyalty programs, they are nothing more than marketing programs. Yes, repeat customers are desirable, but as long as a company is satisfied with the percentage they get, it is good enough.
  5. I guess it was smoke that I was seeing earlier. It did mostly clear up later in the day. "The smell of smoke that is felt in Buenos Aires at the moment is due to fires in fields, due to the significant drought that is going through a large part of the country. The good thing is that when we return, on February 25, the temperatures are expected to be more pleasant."
  6. You have to prepay when making a reservation and I believe you need to give them at least 24 hours notification of a cancellation.
  7. If they replace the port they don't. Did you check your final bill for suspicious credits?
  8. Sounds like standard Carnival menus. Not sure what this is all about. E.g. On page 3 from last month's Carnival Dream 1st night menu. QR_MENU_D1-50-082022.pdf
  9. I was delighted to read that Celia would also be on our cruise. It didn't occur to me that they will be shown on the TV (makes sense). Just in case I'm winning in the casino (fat chance) when she's live or if no seats are left.
  10. I think your cruise got to tender in the Falklands and the next one missed the port. I like bumps but hope we get to the Falklands. I have plenty of warm layers so no worries about that. I am a little light on warm weather clothes, but can probably pick up a bunch of cheap, disposable tee shirts along the way.
  11. More peeps on the tower now, My room is roughly at bell level, so I have a better view of the haze.
  12. I didn't realize you could go up inside the clock tower (Torre Monumental) or I probably would have down that. Now I think it is too late - more on that later.
  13. There is an Italian restaurant in the hotel that looks like it might be good. But I was sleep deprived too long and decided on on of their pizzas to take back to the room before I passed out.
  14. With a little wine buzz, I took off for Hard Rock to check it out and off into the 150 degree weather I went. I must have lost interest in taking pictures of forget to download them. I'll check later.
  15. So back to yesterday... Checking out the Sheraton Club that I have access to... Not bad.. I'll have to return later today. Beer and wine are complimentary, as are sodas, bottled waters, and coffees. and of course food. I didn't try any of the food. Keep forgetting I'm not on the cruise yet and there will be free food all over.
