  1. Depends on the cabin. Some cabins on Sunshine didn't have nightstands and the lamps are on a rail behind the bed. Some do have nightstands with lamps and I imagine are plugged in under the bed.
  2. I suspected, but don't know that security at the port would know that. I might come up with a different name/description. Or at least be prepared to answer if they ask or try to confiscate. You might contact the special needs department and ask them for advice.
  3. Yet occupancy rates on cruises are way up even with testing. 69% during the 2nd quarter of 2022. Summer is the busiest season. For now. At some point pre-cruise testing may disappear. Maybe masking will return. Who knows?

  5. I'm not sure it would even be allowed. https://www.carnival.com/help?topicid=1202 Electrical and household appliances containing any kind of heating element, such as irons, clothes steamers, immersion heaters, heating blankets, water heaters, coffee machines, hot plates, toasters, heating pads, humidifier, etc. (All Carnival ships provide facilities with ironing boards and irons; fleet-wide valet laundry service is also available for a nominal fee.)
  6. I still see the "temporary" generators on deck. I seem to recall they are one of the items removed from Carnival ships before they head to the scrap yard.
  7. You used to only have 30 days to transfer bookings. Maybe that is still the rule. If you cancel, Carnival, as well as the TA, might assess penalties.
  8. It is more honest and helpful than those who pretend only Carnival is in trouble. Carnival still has more cash on hand than the others.
  9. Passage contract: https://www.princess.com/legal/passage_contract/pcl.html Guests agree not to bring alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages on board for consumption or for any other use except as follows: For Guests of legal drinking age, an allowance of one (1) bottle of wine or champagne (750 mL in volume or less) per Guest per Voyage may be presented to security during embarkation. A US $20.00 corkage fee will be charged should Guests wish to consumer their wine or champagne in the ship’s public areas. A US $20.00 corkage fee (which is subject to change without notice) will apply to each additional bottle (750 mL in volume or less) beyond the one-bottle per Guest per Voyage allowance. Limitations apply, and wine brought in quantities deemed to be excessive by the vessel or security will be refused. Guests are also prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages on board that are packaged in bottles. A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board on embarkation day, only if carried on in Guests’ hand luggage (not in checked luggage). A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person. Guests will be asked to discard open beverages in plastic containers prior to boarding.
  10. I think they have salmon more than anything. Sometimes tilapia. Occasionally barramundi which can be good. First formal night I see striped bass. But who knows what they really serve.
  11. If curious, I would have picked up the phone, called, and asked. OTOH, I have a backup generator for when the power goes out. So do Carnival ships.
  12. I see RCL and NCL are down by a larger percentage today, and don't think that is an anomaly. Hmmmm.
  13. Did you give them a valid email? Could the pharmacy print out the results?
  14. Costa capacity is higher now with the delivery of their second LNG ship.
  15. I will believe the numbers from a corporate officer who actually has access to all of the data. HAL finally got all of their ships back in service this month. I don't care enough to look up the other lines.
  16. Wow. People willing to lie to get on a ship, lie while on a ship, lie after a cruise, have limits? Anyway, I've always been honest that the tests were for travel. I have no control over what the doctor writes on the order.
  17. I have yet to pay for a covid test, but all don't use Walgreens or CVS. All you have to do is cough or (pick a symptom) and it should be covered.
  18. I have tons of credit cards from lots of banks. Time to check them all. I did see NCL and Oceania popped up.
  19. 30-50% was from the Chief Financial Officer for Carnival Corporation for the Carnival Fleet.
  20. Carnival Corp needs 25 ships sailing at 100% https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news/carnival-corp-needs-25-ships-sailing-full-occupancy-break-even Generally, the break-even occupancy for any Carnival ship is in the 30% to 50% range, depending its size, according to CFO David Bernstein.
  21. Gatorade/Powerade that kind of stuff? Any for sale on the ships? Emerald Princess if it makes a difference.
  22. On the ship. Embarkation was a snap. Cabin was ready. Muster done. On Lido now - let the grazing begin.
