Congratulations! We were onboard Koningsdam right after your celebration.
  5. Just a heads up to check your airline points balance, We just discovered DHs account has been hacked and hundreds of thousands of airline points have been fraudulently redeemed for e gift cards. Sigh. Hoping it doesn’t take too long to resolve,
  6. What! You’ve been driving in the back roads of the prairies. We actually saw that scenario last year and you know who won and who lost. my condolences @aliaschief, Never easy, even when expected, congratulations @Denise T Brings back memories of my orals for my masters, three professors examining me, and I had spent the night before at the children’s hospital with my daughter for chicken pox. Both my children had chicken pox in the two week period of my comprehensive exams. Thanks to those who have checked in from California, stay safe everyone!
  7. Hello and thanks all! Here’s to the fishies in the deep blue sea of Bonaire and the bees! Hoping people in Washington state can update about the Everett fire. I couldn’t find out online. That’s where my very elderly aunt lives and my DD may be visiting as our main highway home the trans Canada is closed due to the wild fires. My friend evacuated yesterday and other friends are on alert.
  8. We love trying the local Italian wines and find it worthwhile even when paying the corkage on Holland America.
  9. See this thread, it depends on which medications, how long and medical devices like CPAP.
  10. We used Michael Sterianos taxi tours from Athens to Delphi and Meteora. He was great to deal with and arranged good overnight accommodation, an excellent driver and good van. We have visited Crete several times and find it easy to get away from touristy areas as it’s a huge island. We have also enjoyed staying on Paros, Santorini, Skiathos, Skopelos. Keffallonia, Zakynthos. So many islands yet to visit!
  11. We had an aft wrap on the Nieuw Amsterdam and loved it. I do remember a slight shimmy at times, but nothing to stop me from doing this again. It was divine!
  12. We found Rotterdam a great city to spend a few days in, and the boarding was easy.
  13. Good morning and thanks all! Love the wine and drinks today and the Marilyn quote. Great cartoons! @smitty34877 hoping Lou starts to feel better, and will start eating. @RMLincoln appreciate the great lists, something we all need to think of because we all never know. I had a friend evacuate during flooding and she prepared a Go bag. I wish you well in your next chapter, ti sounds like a good option. @rafinmd thanks to your teams, terrible tragic work, but necessary. They will be forever changed. Hoping they will be provided debriefing when they return. @DeniseTgood luck next week, how exciting! stay safe all!
  14. We are ok here, they are bringing thousands here who are being evacuated. Thank you!
  15. Good morning and thanks all! birthday wishes to @Mr. Boston @kazuThanks to Jacqui for all her quality contributions to CC over the years! @dfish St John’s is one of my favourite places, I was fortunate to spend a week in that lovely area a few years ago, hope you got to Quidi Vidi! Prayers for Yellowknife as the whole city is evacuated, military today. Also for Kelowna which is threatened as the fire jumped the huge lake! Our daughter left there yesterday. We have been placed on water restrictions with the extreme heat, can’t even fill the fountains which the birds love. Our smoke was over 200 yesterday, hoping for some rain! A lovely beach on St Thomas.
  16. We got a taxi in Shimuzu and another port without issue. English was limited. We paid cash
  17. Good morning and thanks all! prayers for Yellowknife as they evacuate 20,000 people, airlifts to our city today. I am grouchy today as our neighbours left the country and workmen came to paint their house, using our plants as a place to put the paint and compressors, leaving them trampled! Grr! Curaçao is a beautiful place, wonderful photos @JazzyV Curaçao with a side of iguana stew!
  18. We were just at Cactus club last week. They have a really great patio, and better food than a lot of places IMO. I had a delicious lemongrass chicken salad with moist tender chicken and delicious mint and thai basil. It’s my new favourite salad! Not to mention their key lime pie.
  19. Unfortunately, it's not the case. I emailed to yakkan@mhlw.go.jp and they responded that a CPAP machine is a medical device and would require a formal application/permission. All other medications on my list are okay within their limits. If someone went through this process, please chime in. As stated above we were told we needed one for the CPAP and easily got one which we showed to the officers. It’s easy to get so why chance it?
  20. Good. Morning and thanks all! We enjoyed Hubbard Glacier and I am enjoying everyone’s photos. @0106 We spent some time near Modena, and visited Spilamberto where they have a balsamic museum. The nearby three star Michelin chef has his made there. I did succumb to buying the very pricey one, over twenty years old. But worth every euro! Highly recommend a visit!
  21. We waited a long time after leaving Japan and returning on the cruise after a stop in Vladivostok on our circumnavigation of Japan. Long line ups of around and hour. If you look at the report from this year by Hiltner I think they encountered the same waits after stopping in Korea.
  22. Also another consideration is time of year. In the fall storms can make ships late docking. So leave lots of time. I recommend a private transfer for ease with luggage, perhaps you can share with another couple to lessen the cost. We find it money well spent.
