  1. Nice when they go above and beyond. You can’t buy the goodwill being treated fairly generates.
  2. Just have to pop in and say again how much I enjoyed your thread! I am missing it, we may have to take up a collection for you to go again🤷‍♀️😀
  3. @ottahand7please wish John a happy birthday! @rafinmdhappy attainment day! @cruising sisterI’m sure it’s hard to say goodbye to the memories, but I hope you enjoy your new vehicle! Hard to get the right size, I love my Lexus SUV but new ones are bigger, so I am happy to keep it but will get a hybrid next time too. Good morning and thanks all, great photos of the port and other places! Thanks! Our last trip to London we took a river boat down the Thames to Greenwich. It is a relaxing and very interesting trip, the museum is quite amazing with interesting maritime exhibits.
  4. Sending hugs to @kazu Hoping Ivan will be ok! Grief never really ends. and more hugs to @smitty34877 these roads are hard and lonely at times. I find cancer like the lines at Disneyland, there are so many twist and turns. I am inspired by the caring in this community and how so many are and have come to grips with life changing events with such grace! Too many to mention. I taught some of the early boat people who were escaping from Vietnam. I’ll never forget their stories. My DS has worked with many refugees and supported them in their court hearings. We are fortunate that we don’t really know what it’s like for them to leave their homes and risk so much.
  5. Love that quote! Wish more people lived that way! @smitty34877 good luck at the oncologist, always so many questions. @Heartgrove so tricky picking out paint colours! I’m sure it will be great. we are finally getting some rain and some snow and sleet in different areas!
  6. The beauty of the aft wrap is the wonderful balcony, sun or shade. It was Devine!
  7. Good morning and Happy Father’s Day! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Rotterdam and sailing out of Rotterdam on the former Rotterdam. A beautiful city, with wonderful restaurants and museums. A very amazing experience! @smitty34877 our DHs share the same birthday! Glad you had a nice celebration. @Cruzin Terri sorry to hear about your luggage, from what I’m hearing it is all too common lately. Good you allowed enough time for it to catch up. And if you have credit card or travel insurance it should cover you right now for anything you need to purchase. We once arrived at Heathrow with only the clothes on our backs, not fun, but easy not hauling luggage.
  8. @durangoscots happy birthday Susan! @aliaschief you’re visiting some interesting places! Enjoy! We had the good fortune to stay at a wine agents home there 😀 @Quartzsite Cruiser we did most of our road trips in our motor home and later fifth wheel. But now we’ve got a permanent lot, so back to car. I’d think I’d like a small motorhome, but with some of those prices hotels look good, as do cruises 😉
  9. Good morning and thanks all! Agree about Colon, we got off the ship and got right back on after five minutes. Eek! I love road trips, last big one was to Arches and Canyonlands, but agree with @ger_77 re the price of motels, average seems to be at least 300! We have been planning one in the Canadian mountain parks and it can even be more. The beautiful Fairmont properties are well over a thousand! @Cruzin Terri Bon voyage and safe travels, wishing you a fabulous trip!
  10. I think that plan will work, we stayed at a hotel Granvia right at the train station so that was easy. It is also worth a visit to Miyajima late in the day. Not sure what you mean about the two nights in Osaka? If that means less of a rush, we spent two nights in Hiroshima and that worked well for us.
  11. Maybe I’m the exception, but I enjoy eating with others and not being segregated. I really didn’t like the atmosphere of class on Cunard and their MDR was definitely lacking. although I did like the Pinnacle Grill for breakfast.
  12. Good morning! Well we had rain so today we have the wet smoke smell, I foolishly thought the rain would help clear it out. Prunes also may help with bone density. Thanks for the wonderful Shetland photos, I’m a fan of the tv show and Ann Cleeves. It feels very familiar. We are scheduled to visit next year, hopefully. But HAL just changed the cruise a lot, instead of embarking in Copenhagen and visiting Oslo they have both been dropped. We love Copenhagen, so not a plus for us to go through Amsterdam. DH takes some wonderful photos. And Sometimes I’m lucky.
  13. When we had a Neptune suite we were invited to a special cocktail even with officers in the Tamarind lounge. It was lovely, I’m sad that sounds like it is no longer. I loved the space and the huge balcony on an aft wrap. Nothing quite like having a beautiful dinner out there sailing between the Greek islands. But alas, a signature suite or balcony is my usual go to.
  14. It’s such a nasty disease! My brothers was the size of an orange when they operated. Praying he has some more good days! @Cruzin Terri stay safe, we’ve had several yesterday and today in our province, too.
  15. @kochleffelmy DH has family in that county too.! @smitty34877 sending hugs, seeing the oncologist is SO hard! Black humour really can help! @57redbird some good news
  16. Will stay tuned for your Anchorage report, however I have some contenders for Greek salads…. Crete, Rhodes, Meteora and Katakalon now if we are going to talk shrimp salad, Vernazza wins hands down!
  17. Thanks for sharing the photos of your cabin, so spacious. Looks like it was a nice upgrade also glad to see you TM’d the fish and chip challenge, lol! Looking forward to future contributions.
  18. Oh my! travel is definitely not for the faint of heart but your lovely photos and attitude make all the difference! Air France definitely has a certain attitude🤷‍♀️ I absolutely loved your photos of the Admiral hotel, we stayed there and thoroughly enjoyed the quirky rooms and lovely breakfast outside. You brought back great memories of Copenhagen, we were booked to sail from there next year but HAL has changed it to Amsterdam instead. It was so refreshing to read your report and how you roll with what arises. Thank you Miss G.
  19. Yup, but this was awhile ago, they would barely talk to me and told me my agent had to call. They were the only ones who could make changes on the bookings and all the payments had to go through them.
