  1. Good morning and thanks all! I'm missing @erewhon too! It’s hard with the different time zones, I kind of wish they wouldn’t t lock the days post until a little later for us in the west or very far west! @dfish that cake looks amazing! @summer slope so does that drink! @cat shepard I’ve always wondered about that one! Hope the transition goes smoothly for your sister! @Heartgrove so nice to see Sam still enjoying his walks! Glad @ger_77 asked! Hope you get answers soon Geri! @RMLincoln hope things are easily treatable! You have had so much! @kazu I’m sorry you’re not getting to Sete. But lots of cool places to visit from Marseille. We have enjoyed Aix and Arles and Les Baux and a boat trip on the calanques. And the Camarague. If I can be of any help? There is a tv show in French called Candace Renoir, that’s quite enjoyable and set in Sete. Free on Radio Canada or US prime. Well our daffodils are most definitely MIA!
  2. Thank you! I am giggling, thinking about when I did my two weeks comprehensive masters exams comprised of five hours written exams, major paper and orals here. Both my kids got chicken pox and our DD ended up in hospital the day before my orals as they were on her eye. But we all survived and I passed.
  3. Good day and thanks all! Appreciate all the good wishes for DS, thanks @JazzyV@dfish@ger_77 @RMLincoln We will look forward to his May convocation. @kazu yikes, I’m so sorry to hear the results, I will hope and pray the physio helps things. @Nickelpenny hope the surgery provides relief. Sandi, glad your checks went well. Mine did too, thankfully. Salerno is an interesting port, provides access to Amalfi as well. Unfortunately the day we were in port I had to travel to Naples for an ultrasound.
  4. Sorry to read such sad news! How devastating! Now some good news DS did extremely well, all your kind thoughts and prayers were appreciated! We are hunkered down with the beginning of the snow, much more to come. Good for the farmers, the fields are absolutely barren and they are already talking water restrictions. the animals are enjoying it IMG_1115.mov
  5. @Haljo1935 sending prayers! These transitions are very tough. I have read that a huge percentage of retirements are due to health issues. It makes it more complicated for sure! Gentle hugs! If anyone could spare a few prayers for DS, his master’s defence is tomorrow! They would be greatly appreciated
  6. Great question! Only by country and love of bears! @BermudaBound2014 loving your reports!
  7. Good day and thanks all! I am sorry so many are suffering and send gentle hugs to all! yikes on the age 70! @JazzyV thanks for the kind wishes for DH. He is doing well, thankfully. @kazu praying for some good news! @Haljo1935 hoping you get some answers! @grapau27 I have no words! Perhaps Sarah could place her own obituary or do something meaningful for her! Well today is the calm before the storm, a lot of snow on its way tonight! Sigh!
  8. Home now and thankfully the anaesthesia worked this time! 15 stitches and over two hours, I was getting worried. Thanks for all the kind wishes! @smitty34877 glad the bed is delivered and Tana is ensconced! So nice to see all the mutual support.
  9. Good morning and thanks all! My late DF and DGF birthdays today. I really appreciate the photos of the holy land, I am beginning to think after several cancelled cruises there. We may never visit. I particularly appreciated seeing Masada, @Quartzsite Cruiser as I had read the novel the Dove keepers. @smitty34877 hope the new bed comes quickly! @RMLincoln those tests are SO important and life saving! Hope all goes well. @StLouisCruisers so glad your DGD feels so much better. @YourWorldWithBillwelcome aboard! We got to visit our little grand dog, who’s recovering nicely. wishing all a good day, DH has to have a follow up surgery today for a skin cancer, praying this goes better than last time.
  10. Sharon, just have to jump in because my experience was similar. My mom was very bright and could cover easily. It took a gerontologist to see what was happening. As they explained to be by mid nineties there is likely hardening of the arteries in the brain. At times she could take her frustrations out on me, yet she had never been a grumpy person. She would argue that I hadn’t told her things that I had. I wish I knew earlier how best to handle this. I didn’t realize for a long time that she had any dementia because she would seem so with it. Best advice go with the flow as much as possible! Sending hugs!
  11. Thank you! I think my visit was a result of your recommendation, it was truly amazing.
  12. Highly recommend the visit to the ancient cities of Priene, Didyma and Miletus. Absolutely fantastic, Not busy but very atmospheric!
  13. What a special day! Thank you @richwmnand @LAFFNVEGAS for originating this happy safe place! Thanks to ALL who participate and special thanks to @kazu @rafinmd@dfish @summer slope@cat shepard @JazzyVfor all their contributions! I discovered it too at a crazy time in my life, we had to cut our time in Hawaii short so I could have cancer surgery amidst the early days of the pandemic. I appreciate all the kind sharing and the wonderful supportive community. @cruising sister thanks for the beautiful photo of Baby Murphy! @Haljo1935 it’s great that we can share good and bad! @marshhawk such wise words today! Thank you! @irishjimnice to hear from you! Congratulations on your 63 anniversary tomorrow! Bon voyage to those heading off! our little house guest has headed home, now we can rest.
  14. Good morning and thanks all! @Nickelpenny can’t think of a more serving person! Congratulations! @AncientWanderer sorry to hear of all your port changes. We had a big one 30 days out where they cancelled one and added a different one. As we had never been to Japan, it was all good as it was all new. I’m sure yours will work out too! What a pain though! @cat shepard I’m sorry Bindi’s not well. You are so right that everything catches up with you, hope things will soon settle for you. @Lady Hudson Bon Voyage! @superoma how cool to see all those turkeys! @ger_77 I get nervous when I hear of people up on roofs. Our roofer added heating strips this fall you just plug in to melt the snow and prevent ice dams. It was very reasonable. Having had one once and the amount of damage they can do, I was thrilled to find a way of preventing them. We had a lovely sunrise.
  15. Yes ours is on our profile and in the past shown up automatically. This time for some reason it didn’t. Wondering if it was because of a renewal?
  16. Good morning and thanks all! Also Pi day! Great photos of Lerwick! Happy birthday twins @Mr. BostonDM and. @StLouisCruisersDB appreciate all the good wishes @JazzyV @puppycanducruise@rafinmd@cat shepard@StLouisCruisers@kazu@seagarsmoker@grapau27@smitty34877@dfish@Denise T@aliaschief@Nickelpenny@RedneckBob@ger_77@Haljo1935@ottahand7@marshhawk@Quartzsite Cruiser@Overhead Fred@AncientWanderer
  17. Just be aware that your airline has entered things correctly, and your boarding pass says TSA precheck. I had to recently go back to the checkin when they wouldn’t honour my nexus card without Precheck on the boarding pass.
  18. Almost good morning and thanks all! @grapau27happy birthday to Pauline! We’re puppy sitting today, such fun! @fruitmachine welcome aboard! @cat shepard so glad your sister is transferring today! @summer slope hope tomorrow goes well! @Seasick Sailor glad they caught those levels in time! Hope Allen feels better soon and he gets his appointment quickly. @JazzyVhope you feel better soon! A special shout out to you and @Quartzsite Cruiser for such consistently kind and condensed comments! We loved visiting Aomori, went to Hirosaki Castle and enjoyed the pink snow!
  19. @cat shepard thanks! I’m sure it’s awesome! @VMax1700 happy birthday to your DW! @grapau27 I am very sorry to hear the nastiness continues. So difficult for all of you but particularly Sarah! Such good advice here on forgiveness. Hard to do, At times. Our Nextdoor neighbor removed all our spring bulbs and peonies, pathway pavers on our property against our expressed concerns, the day after we told him DH was having cancer surgery. Leaving us no safe access to our water and losing our plants. We could sue, but after spending significant $ for boundaries and legal advice it’s probably not worthwhile. We wonder if he is developing dementia. So my heart goes out to you.
  20. Good morning, lol! And thanks all! I love the quote, the sunrise in the clouds yesterday made me think of my parents and brother. It’s DGD’s 17 th birthday, how is that possible? March is a busy month in our family, me in a couple of days and then my late father and grandfather four days later. DS was due mid March but came early, so all my kids and DSIL are February. Forgive me for rambling. We went to bed at 10 pm local time, which I thought was respectable but at 1 am I was awake. I guess with the time change, my body thought I had a nap, as it was 6 pm Hawaii time. Finally, went back to sleep until 8 am Hawaii time. Oh well. @marshhawk thanks for the update, I wish the news was better. I hope you can solve the weight loss, or slow it down. Poor man! And you! Yikes on your LA adventures. @Quartzsite Cruiser Happy birthday Lenda! Hope you have a great day! @Overhead Fred happy birthday to Mitzi! @smitty34877 I had been thinking of baby Camilla, amazing how quickly they grow up! Thanks for sharing the update! Glad you can easily walk places! @cat shepard awesome on the gas! I am looking at a new hybrid soon, remind me of the type of vehicle? a couple more sunrise photos. You can see the mountains peaking through 😉
  21. Sorry late reading this and responding. Their Katsu sandwich is even better!
  22. Wonderful! We just bought that camera and had a great experience with it in Hawaii. Now I need to go to French Polynesia!
