  1. In July 2023, we tendered on the morning arrival at Ketchikan. After the departure of a Princess ship mid-day, the Koningsdam moved in and docked. Read the itinerary details precisely to see if this might be the plan.
  2. I had the equivalent aft view room on deck 7 Koningsdam, and saw how the extra door would work. But never used it.
  3. That blank space is where the two rooms have a third door available. If the corner suite and the adjacent aft view verandah room are in a group, they can activate the third door and the two inner doors will allow them to act as one room. Of course, the swinging door on the balcony can also allow them to work as one.
  4. Try not to break the ship. I am booked for the Boston - Greenland - Iceland round trip in July.
  5. Play with the filename and you can see a different one. Hope this hyperlink is allowed in the forum. 5 Star
  6. A logo icon will appear at your account profile screen. But only for the current level that you have.
  7. Must cost a fortune to heat your house. 😀
  8. After a couple years off, back onboard.
  9. I know it is not really significant, but I love the glass elevators on Vista (Noordam) and Signature class. I have to agree with other posts, for Alaska, the itinerary is big in the decision.
  10. I did this in July 2023 and it matched the description and photos. I would say the distance to walk was less than 100 meters (or 100 yards, your choice). Maybe even half that.
  11. As Crystal stated above, the HAL Deck Plan shows that 7006 is rated for two passengers. Note the circle on 7010 which indicates support for three passengers. I hope the image uploads.
  12. I had a Lanai room on the Maasdam. The sliding door to the promenade area had a powerful force closing it. You will not be able to leave that door open.
  13. One more item I recall, there was a small table for drinks on the verandah. And those on deck 11 are fully open to the sky, no cover above. It takes a couple minutes for your brain to absorb that difference from other decks.
  14. In Dec 2016, Eurodam VQ on deck 11 had two chairs on verandas. No footstool, as I recall.
  15. For the music player, HAL does not list any officially in Spa Veranda, but they seem to be present. A few years ago in Eurodam, my player was Bose and worked via Bluetooth. No cable problems.
  16. And soon afterwards, you notice that Kevin Bacon is standing next to you, enjoying the deck view. (Six Degrees of Bacon)
  17. Today, I do see the PDF links on the "My Cruise History" tab. Most do download, except for the second half of a B2B voyage, as someone mentioned earlier. However, I cannot download the PDF for my 2017 Trans-Atlantic on the Rotterdam, same problem as in the Navigator app. Not a big deal to be missing that one, which i do have in paper form.
  18. In Vancouver this July, I stayed in Pan Pacific hotel booked through HAL. As per the guide sheet, I visited the the HAL agent in lobby at 8:30 am and confirmed how many pieces of luggage would be in my room. The agent advised to proceed to the HAL check-in room at 10 am. At the HAL room entrance, no one asked about assigned times. They were looking for 4 star, 5 star or Neptune codes (none applied to me). During that morning, the only processing area with a line up more than 20 people deep was at US customs.
  19. Long ago, the iPod dock music player was replaced with a Bose music player that operates via Bluetooth. HAL does not list music player as a perk against Veranda Spa or Interior Spa rooms. But, when I had a Veranda spa on Eurodam in year 2017, the room did have a Bose music player (sounded great). I have also seen a recent internet video that showed the Bose player in a Veranda Spa room (forget which ship).
  20. Pre-Pandemic, HAL put me and a bunch of other Trans-Atlantic cruisers into the Rotterdam Hilton. The hotel is located next to a traffic circle with transit trains zooming through.
  21. For timing of update to Mariner Status, I disembarked Koningsdam on July 29, newly qualified to 4 Star. The new status now appears on my account listing today Aug 1 (just three days).
  22. After the ipods to borrow disappeared from the HAL ships, you could still download an art tour podcast per ship and use your own device. I did have the podcast file for the Rotterdam R-class (previous Rotterdam) but erased it after she left the fleet. Was hoping to sail on her once more but never happened.
