  1. No just the things that make "I Need A Cruise".πŸ˜‚
  2. I have one of those (not mentioning her name) who some time does not put the top on the milk fully, yours truly picks it up and gives it a shake before using it, end result lots of white liquid spayed all around the kitchen, and on the shaker.....πŸ˜’
  3. Hil said "Oh Noo" Oil leave the jokes aside at the momentπŸ˜„ But seriously, we have kitchen draws similar to those and a couple of near misses, lifting bottles out. Hil has a runner rug between cupboard and the bench.
  4. πŸ˜†Hil says that, but I'm striving to get it right, still learning, only started playing with wood since we retired. When I see true artisans work, I think how amazing it is, and I strive to be better, which of course is exactly how life should be.πŸ˜‰
  5. I Don't Need Any More Rain 🀬 Every time I plant my veggie garden it pours down and drowns it. This have been going on for nearly 12 months now! Where the hell is our dry season!!!!!
  6. Oh goodness no, I'm just a plodder, the amount of times I have to pull things apart and do it again, is no craftsman, then I look at the finished pieces and go, "Its not right dam missed that". But I do have fun doing it. Then I get requests like the Crib board, and I can't resist the challenge, and even though I see the faults, I'm still pleased with what I done. Its a hobby!
  7. Wellll, mostly one at a time, as some like the trivit may look straight forward, but there are a lot of little fiddly bits. However I have got myself in a little pickle at the moment as I have started on three projects, it was supposed to be only two. BUT, I have taken an interest in a Japanese art called kumiko, and suddenly found myself well in over my head. not only do you have to make the art, but all the tools to make it with.😬 See examples below I am have been inspired by, so far I have only cut some strips, and made some special jig type tools. I'm currently working on something like the bottom one.
  8. Thanks, its nice when people like what you make. I enjoy making parquetry objects, from the smaller pieces like the 160mm dia. trivit I made my daughter Rebekah, and the Tray & charcuterie board set I made Hil. See below: All made from old pallet wood.
  9. Welcome to the wonderful world of retirement. Do what you want when you want. Have a great cruise. Regards John
  10. Ahh, I have had similar issue when I used Norton's, change to a different Web Security program for a while, but it too wanted to overly control what I did, eventually started using CCleaner free version, run it daily, it removes all the trackers, that you don't have in its approved cookie list. Seems to work don't get many spams etc since using it. Still use a Web Security but soften up on its cookie tracking.
  11. Between you and TOPC72 Luminosa is starting to sound well worth a try. Thanks guys.
  12. I'm not a big alcohol drinker, my example is six soft drinks a day (ok two are mocktails, I'm on holiday $10.50 each use to be $8), and the cost if someone wanted a coffee package and wifi for 1 device as well, its almost the same as the plus package.πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Me I would do with out wifi, I'm a fossil, I can live without it, and not get the shakes.πŸ˜† But a lot of people like their wifi, so even if you only drink coffee & soft drinks and want wifi, you might as well buy the plus fare up front, the cost is virtually the same.πŸ™„ and you get a couple of other sweeteners To me there don't seem to be a choice for most people, and god forbid if your not platinum or elite level to get the discount on wifi, then there is no choice, plus would be the only logical choice. If you have to have wifi, and you wish to drink anything, you just have to bight the bullet and pay your $65 per day, or what ever they raise it too. As for me, the old fossil I am, I can wait for ports and carry on my cans like Sinbad, and I can cruise happily, but for people like the OP its confusing as you wade through a mire of options, as you try to figure which is best for you. That was the intent of my calculator, so you could work out what you thought you would drink, and be able to make an informed (to some extent) decision. But to each his own I guess.πŸ˜„
  13. Yes I agree overpriced but then that's to cover the overpriced drink charges. My calc's show if I buy a large hot choc in morning and early afternoon, plus have couple of mocktails during the day, then have couple of orange juices for dinner at night, it will cost me about $52 a day, a Soda&coffee package costs $45. Then if I get wifi, that for an elite is now around $20 (use to be free). Add the drink Package and the wifi, and I'm up for around $65 a day as an Platnum/elite. Do you think their pushing people into buying the plus Package whether they want it or not. Seems that way to me. So now you have to decide do you really need wifi, or can i just wait for ports, and do I also do your wise option with the cans. Thinking very seriously about it.
  14. You may be right about the cans, I haven't cruised with Princess since 2018, Could be their included in the basic soda package, I can't remember anyone getting cans, always seen soda fountain drinks handed out. P&O Aust does not have post mix drinks, they just have cans & bottles for soft drink.
  15. I would appreciate your impute from that Geoff, I have been updating the Calculators to include a tracking spreadsheet to record what actually was spent so it can be compared in hindsight, to see how accurate your estimate was. Maybe even if the Plus Fares were worth it.πŸ€” Regards
  16. 🀞🀞🀞 I hope you guys do too. We tried on two WC's 2014 & 2018, but missed out. both times it was sunny the seas look good but the swells evidently were from the wrong angle, making it unsafe to dock the tenders.
  17. Sorry just realised I quoted Windsor26 when I meant Relaxing Robbies was correct about the coffees. My apologies Relaxing Robbies😬
  18. Windsor26 is correct the basic Soda Package approx. $24aud does not include coffee or hot chocolate drinks also fresh juice. Use to be but both dropped it out and moved it to the Zero-Alcohol Package $45aud. Which I believe is way over the top. Soda package only includes; all post mix sodas, fruit juices (not fresh), mocktails and smoothies. Zero-Alcohol Package includes; Enjoy premium and specialty coffees and teas along with sodas, fresh juices and healthy smoothies (juice bar), hot chocolate, "zero-proof" mocktails, bottled water, San Pellegrino, Evian and Red Bull Energy Drinks.
  19. Hi Reina del Mar Below is snapshot from my Cruise Drink Calculator. The prices shown have been obtained from what others have posted re drinks on their princess cruises, they may not reflect the latest current prices, but should be current enough to get an idea of what to expect. My calculator is up to date with P&O Aust prices as I got them on my recent cruise with them, planning on updating Princess's prices when I cruise with them in Oct. Regards John
  20. Thanks TOPC72 Great post, haven't cruised with them yet, but been thinking about it, your comments are encouraging us to look closer. And yes my wife came down with covid on the third day of our first post covid cruise, she made sure she past it onto me after we got back.πŸ˜† Thanks again John
  21. Hi Marjan1 I'm sure you will enjoy your cruise, we all tend to think the standard we have experienced on previous cruise is the basic to expect, however, if your use too 4 star motels and you end up at a 2 star one you may blink, but then you stop and think I'm paying a lot less for this room what did I expect? P&O Aust. may not be exactly like Princess or other line you have been on, it is still a nice cruise line to cruise on. Just expect that some things will be little bit different. Have a great cruise regards John
  22. I was thinking I might try to do a Live From, on that cruise, thought it may be fun to do, as someone else asked to let them know what I thought of the cruise, as they were going to cruise on her I think in December.
  23. Yes whacking that many extra people on would probably make it bit squeezy, being a longer cruise 50 odd days, tends to be more older pax. I think there were very few people under 30 on the cruise. The buffet cafe on the Emerald was just out the back doors above the pool. I think that's right. We will be on the Crown in Oct for the Around Australia cruise. From what I can see of it's deck plans, its the same as the Emerald in layout.
