  1. maʻalahi wale, enjoy your snacks.😁 and you trip. Regards John
  2. For what its worth, this was the status of the Roll Call late January. Regards
  3. Have a great trip, how long will you be in Sth Korea, will any of his ports of call marry up with your stay, for a quick catch up?
  4. In addition to the advice above, we always take a photo of all food stuff we're planning to pack in a group so each item can be clearly seen. When they asked us re food declared we showed them the photo and indicated the bag it was in. Always got excellent feed back from them. These we took to Norfolk, as we grocery were difficult there, at the time.
  5. Hi ceecee Thought someone would have had a copy of a drink menu for you by now. So for lack of a better answer when we were on the Encounter last November, all the basic cocktails I think were around $16. Regards John
  6. Sorry colourbird, did not mean to offend you, I'm ok with people who like big ships, as indicated the last part of my post. just don't understand theme parks on ships, seemed to me to miss the point of going cruising.🤷‍♂️ I was replying to your post were you said "The best thing would be to get rid of the smaller ships and just build and run the larger ones that can fit substantially more passengers on them". I was pointing out one size does not fit all, and I would like to keep some smaller ships.🙂
  7. Ahm, I for one would not enjoy being on the latest mega ship, the shear thought of being on a ship that has 8000 pax, all there for a water park/amusement park, does not interest me. Why would you go on a cruise, if all you want is a water world/dream world, is beyond me. I'm not saying that people should not, just saying one size does not fit all. Viva the old Sun Class!!! and yes small ships = more ports.
  8. In the video the commentator said the LNG ships were just as bad because they discharged a different greenhouse gas. Seems the cruise lines can't win. The commentator said they should use energy cells, not sure what they are, (assume some type of batteries). But batteries require huge amounts of rare earth minerals, can't see how that helps, humongous amounts of mining to obtain, isn't good either. All this is well beyond me, every time they come up with a solution, there seems to be ramifications. However it is great that RCL is looking at bucking the big ship trend.
  9. I could not agree more. But to my shame, it is more for my preferences for small cruise ships not because of the emissions.😬 Good choice of subject Chile. I was under the impression they were making headway on pollution reduction, not smoke & mirrors. Jees this makes life hard I love cruising.😡
  10. Oh I believe it was if you were going to Melbourne not Brisbane. I'm sure the info on tram line numbers was very educational if not a little confusing.😵 How to feel totally dumb in one easy lesson.🤣
  11. Here's a tip, when your on a driving holiday, been driving several hours a day, don't respond to a question on CC. Checked into motel last week, checked my e-mail, seen a question, oh yes just been looking up that, wiz of a reply with attached doc's. Felt that was good that I had just researched it, and was able to help. Went back today see if i had helped today. THEN noticed the question had nothing to do with the port I thought it was about. I Think I Need A Cruise
  12. Hi ArlineLA Posted these for another thread, Hope its of some help. Melbourne Port.docxMelbourne Info.zip The zip file is related JPGs to the Word Doc. Regards John
  13. Hi phoenixx Did you mean make the spreadsheet of the ships? If so no, it was possible when Princess issued their cruise atlas's, but with out them its too much hunting around to find what each ship is doing, it fiddly just link up a back to back, without a whole year for each ship.😵 🤣
  14. Every so often, we take a trip up to Maroochydore to buy my TA a coffee, and just discuss cruise ideas. A little later after one of these what if's trips, he contacted us and said there is a cruise from Southampton to Australia in Sep, if you did your trip to England you wanted, you could catch the ship back. That turned into one of the best trips we have done. All from a "What If". There is always room, for a what if in a cup of coffee.😁
  15. If you walk to the main sea front and to the Elizabeth Street pier in the evening, and out on the left side of the pier, there is some nice places to have a quite coffee, from there if your lucky and a cruise ship is in and all lit up, the bay looks really pretty.😂
  16. JVes actually I can identify with the wheelchair issue. One of my daughters had to have corrective surgery to both of her knees when she was about 9, and she spent about 6 months in a wheelchair. When we were out people would ask us what happened, or speak to her very very slowly. How are you dear? This annoyed her immensely, then one day when a woman started talking to her like that, she snapped, "There is nothing wrong with my brain, its my knees that are in plaster". I did not know whether to chastise her for being rude, or cheer her on. I don't know whether I should be ashamed, but I did the latter.😟
  17. Ah yes, very true. But, what if; You don't know what you want, and your looking for inspiration.😁
  18. Ah Geoff, your exactly what the world needs, a realist.😉 However I guess I'm a what if!, we can do so much on the net, solve almost any problem. But like a certain Beatle said, I'm a dreamer, what if we could???🤣
  19. Oh guys, your all so right on the nail with this, its something that I think only the cruise industry could/should put together, or someone with a real burning itch. Even if it was just something reginal, say Australia; US; Europe; Asia; what ever, it would be a gold mine. At one time, way back when Princess would release their Cruise Atlas, I had a spreadsheet (yeah ok stop laughing) where each ship had a column and each line was a date and you could see where each ship was on a set date, and if they were in the same port within a week of each other, they highlighted green bold. I thought it would be handy to cruise somewhere, spend a little time and then catch another cruise to somewhere else. Stop giggling I thought it was a possibility......🙄
  20. Hi JVes I checked out your thread above. Wow; yes you did need a cruise, and yep I would go along with you need another one. Certainly hope it works out for you. Its common for someone like me, to not grasp what challenges other people face, as I fortunately have good health. But then you hear the challenges someone else faces, and its then you start to appreciate what you do have. You sound like a fighter, and I feel, you will make it happen. Keep fighting you can get through it. Its not just our own mischief that makes us need a cruise, but sometimes what life dishes up, is also a need for a cruise. Regards John
  21. I sincerely hope that's from work-outs etc, not impact.😬
  22. Well I was going to say you could have all of ours, but then I read others having 200mm, and then our 90mm didn't seem so bad.🙄
  23. Hi Yehootu One thought to look at, get the ship bus shuttle to the CBD, there is a river cruise to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary from the Cultural Centre River Pontoon. A short walk from the CBD, costs $99 Leaves 9am returns 1:30pm from Sanctuary, arrives 2:45pm back in Brisbane with 3h 15min at the sanctuary. For information and to book, contact Mirimar Cruises: Ph: 0412 749 426 Email: info@mirimarcruises.com.au
