  1. I sure do know that experience, being a Grand Princess Feb 2020 Hawaiian cruise survivor!
  2. If you're talking about the April 11 cruise, it's most likely sold out. There were very few rooms left 2 weeks ago and that's not counting the guarantees that still needed to be filled. I'm hoping for a move over offer. Already discussed it with the roomie and she's all for it too. Then again, I'd be happy to take the cruise.
  3. You can always tell when there's noro, the salt and pepper shakers disappear and the rolls are served with tongs instead of a basket. And the buffet may be served instead of selfserve. All the good old days.
  4. This is a cruise board, it's not FB, we can disagree, but there's no reason to go for a personal attack.
  5. On a ship, that's what we pay. And it's 'no' not 'know'
  6. I did the same thing. Ultimately I paid their $10, but it left me feeling like I'd been lied to. Actually I don't feel like I've been lied to, I WAS lied to. I plan on calling princess sometime before we leave and asking for this charge to be added as REFUNDABLE onboard credit.
  7. Am I the only one about over the judgy judgy with people commenting on how bad people are for utilizing what the cruise line is offering? I'm one of those that will drink to excess while cruising. Why? Because I can. I rarely drink in the real world, but when I'm a cruise, I'll get drunk and sober up 3 times in a day. Why? Because I can. I think next time I'll try for 4 times in a day. I'm going to order the new desserts and if I like them, I'll get more. And if I don't like them, I'll order them the way I want them, then I'll order another. It's my vacation. I'll do it how I want. POOF! You have no power over me!
  8. Everyone in my household loves marvel movies. 2 60's, a 40's and a 20's.
  9. 2 bottles of wine. Any more and there's a $20 per bottle corkage fee No other alcohol allowed. I'd suggest rum runners.
  10. I'm wondering if for those of us with the plus or premier package, if the added booze bottle counts towards out 15 booze drinks per day. I can easily toss the rest of the crap for more baby booze bottles. And if the candy (suckers too?) is in a wrapper, looks like it's going to be an easy halloween at my house!
  11. You haven't cruised carnival lately. Becky is always dancing on the table, sometimes she has a shirt. (the name Becky is my go-to girl dancing on the table)
  12. I'm a serial budget traveler. I look several times a week for cruises at the price point I want. I also get casino offers and utilize them numerous times. 7 of my 8 cruises last year were casino based fares. And 5 of my 6 cruises this year are casino based. I'm always waiting for the next great sale. I always try to have numerous FCD for that onboard and bought stock when it fell to cheap. Stock has paid for itself over and over again in OBC. And I always book through a 3rd party for additional onboard. Looking forward to being able to use onboard to pay for plus, that'll help with costs too! Happy cruising!
  13. I got off the Royal Feb 10, 2023, No more Norman Love branded desserts. I think @Coral is correct. And the desserts have REALLY changed. I used to love the love boat dream and pistachio dome. Completely different desserts now. Dream is raspberry mousse, covered in a pink sugar crust and the dome is a weird thin chocolate covering/coating with a whipped cream filling, with chopped pistachios scattered around the plate
  14. I had to manually pay for my up-bid on Wed Feb 22. And yes, I booked directly though princess. I had the option of declining the up-bid.
  15. Actually, none of the desserts that used to be marked as Norman Love are currently marked as Norman Love chocolate journeys
  16. Supposedly there's a new coffee package. No idea if the minibar will be tradable for it https://www.cruisehive.com/princess-cruises-adds-new-package-option-for-passengers/95184
  17. This posted on FB yesterday, Feb 26, 2023 Boarded Regal Princess today. Beautiful ship and I know we’ll have a great week. But….when we got to our cabin we asked to have our mini bar changed out for the “coffee card”. Yes, we know there’s no card anymore but we have been able to receive unlimited Intl coffee in exchange for our mini bar. We were told that as of today, Feb 26 that is no longer offered. As of today!
  18. But none of them have ever sold. That tells me all I need to know about the value of a used medallion.
  19. Here's what I saw by booking without plus, then adding it. I opted for insurance. The price of the plus package was added as part of my fare, not as a stand-alone as it was done previously. My insurance cost went up proportionately. Then I won an upgrade by bidding. My insurance also increased proportionately. So, we went from insurance of approximately $127 to $176 for the 2 of us because of the additions. That's a $50 increase on insurance. From this point forward, I'll be buying the plus package onboard, utilizing onboard credit, without the increased insurance cost. UNLESS I go though a 3rd party TA who bases onboard credit on total cost, then I'll make an informed decision.
  20. Actually the price for the no booze beverage package is $47.xx after mandatory 18% gratuity. Add daily grats and the price for both goes to $63.xx. Plus is cheaper.
  21. Just got word from a cruise buddy on the Royal. According to the crew at the IC, there are no longer coffee cards offered. Just the no booze package for $39.99 plus 18% grat so $47,xx, Frustrating that there's different policies on different ships.
  22. CA is in a world of hurt right now. We have 18 inches of snow and it just kept coming down. Last snow we got was in 2019 and it was flurries, no sticking. LA also has snow, unheard of. You wouldn't have been able to make a flight yesterday either. The snow started dumping on Thursday Feb 23, We can't even get out of our driveway. And lost power for several hours yesterday.
  23. A lot of boardies had this issue yesterday. Clear cookies and it should clear up.
  24. It's how it is. If you want to change it, get it changed. Stop tagging me please, all you want is for someone to make a perceived mistake so you can keep the conversation going. I'm done playing your game.
  25. You got an honest laugh out of me for that catch. I'm a HUGE caffeine addict and I'd blow up with 15 caffeinated beverages per day. I might start licking walls! Now I know how the rare drinkers feel about the 15 booze drinks a day limit! Thanks for the laugh.
