I constantly see them ( rci ) cleaning and asking you to Washy Washy and they have the hand sanitizers all over the place. People need to wash their damn hands after going potty. They should cattle shoot everyone into a single line before going into any eating place and MAKE people use the hand cleaner. It may not kill 100% of the gems, but I'll take 99% any day over some moron who didnt wash their hands after going potty.

Also, if I see someone not wash their hands, I follow them out and embarrass them and tell them to go wash their damn hands.

These ships are amazing. Even if you took the kids on this cruise, there is SOOO much for them to do, you'd still get your alone time. :rolleyes: cuz they will be busy exploring the ship. If you chose, one of these ships, Id go with the Eastern Route. I prefer the ports better over the Western. So - you cant go wrong with either one really !!

Where did you read the Oasis will be late..?

I should also mention....we will be on a cruise to Bermuda, so staying at a hotel is OUT.

Im trying to help my niece with some wedding plans. She is interested in getting married on a cruise or better yet, on Bermuda. Does anyone know of any hotels or groups we can contact to see about getting them married on a beach. The ships packages are kinda pricey and looking for alternate ideas... any ideas are welcomed. Thank you !

We needed to buy tix to be able to get on the Missouri and that included a bus ride from the main area to the Missouri. I think you can buy tix to enter the ship there too and not at the main area.

I just did it and it was very cool.

I didnt care for this area to be honest. There were high end shops there and it was VERY commercialized. Im ok with growth, dont get me wrong, but why a Cartier and other high end shops. Kinda reminded me of Time Square in NYC.

If you like snorkeling, you can go to Hanauma bay..... amazing !

I just did a Helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian on the Big Island and it was amazing. I thought I would be scared but once we took off that fear left me as soon as I saw the scenery.!! A helicopter flies slower and gets lower and closer too so I vote Helicopter.

In my opinion, they could improve with enforcing their own rules. Like keeping adult-only-areas on the ship child-free, no kids in specialty restaurants after 7pm, taking towels and belongings to towel-stations after 30 minutes etc.

But honestly, not much else comes to my mind, I love to cruise with RCCL.

Id like to see them toss out people who are not dressed for the MDR. Ive seen tee shirts and basketball shorts...etc Really..?

I agree with the Scotch Guard comment. My SIL went on a cruise with us once and she had pink luggage. I mentioned to her that by the time we got to SJU there will be black marks all over it... and sure enough there were. The belt systems the airports use will place black marks on all light colored bags. Unfortunately, its gonna happen, but I think if its treated, they may come off with some elbow grease if they are treated.

No, just let the agent that is checking you in know and they will use the other one.

We like the Southern routes much more. You cant go wrong with either

We take our bags and check them in at the terminal, then we go to town for a bit. ( old san juan )

We have had an ocean balcony cabin on our past Oasis/Allure cruises but are thinking of trying a Central Park one to save a little money.

 

Anyone thoughts or opinions from any normally ocean balcony folks that have tried a CP one?? :) Thanks

We LOVE our ocean view balconies, but in order to save a few bux opted to get a Central Park Balcony. Although its a balcony, I must say I missed watching the ocean and scenery go by. I also am not fond of sitting there and looking at the people across from me looking back at me. I think we may try a Boardwalk balcony next time as you can at least see the ocean from them. They are a bit more noisy, but you have to do what ya gotta do. Maybe I can convince my DW to get a ocean view next time...:D

Are you kidding, Wrona? Most retailers now consider Halloween to be the starting line! I have been seeing Christmas merchandise in stores for at least two weeks now. (Maybe they are all Canadians. ;))

I went to Lowes yesterday and they had all their Christmas stuff out too... too early.

I have been reading through reviews on the main part of this website and a lot of them mention very disappointing food experience on the Explorer. I'm starting to wonder if I chose poorly. For those that have sailed recently, like say the past year- have you any stand out memories of the food being particularly poor?

You didnt choose wrong in my opinion.

I was just on Explorer in Oct and we didnt have bad food at all. Sure, some people complain about the food, but you have to remember they cook for thousands of people, so they cant make is every way they want. The sushi was actually very good. if I had to pick one thing that was bad... the rolls for the hamburgers and hot dogs are a little dry.

If the ship doesnt have a Chops, can you still get a Chops Filet in the MDR. I know we have to pay, but I wasnt sure if we can still get one in there is no Chops on board.

Our next cruise is Sept 28th on Explorer to Bermuda :)
