  1. Lyn, that’s exactly how I tried to do it. It would only let me “invite” one couple. Wouldn’t take the next couple. I thought it might have been due to Covid restrictions but all 3 O reps said that was not the case. So who knows? It all worked out once on board.
  2. Please don’t tell me I’m wrong. I am relating my experience for my July cruise. I had everyone’s booking number and we (3 couples) were all paid in full. I tried at midnight on the first day PH was eligible. Could not book a table for 6 on the website. 3 different O reps were unable to book a table for 6. No explanation as to why it couldn’t be done. Each rep said they’d look into it and call me back and no one ever did.
  3. You won’t be able to do it online. I tried to book online for 6 of us for a July cruise and it wouldn’t accept the reservation. I called O 3 times and none of the reps I spoke to could get the system to accept a reservation for 6. No explanation as to why not. We subsequently became 7 when a single friend decided to join us. I decided to wait til we boarded and went immediately to the specialty restaurants reservation desk. Explained the problem and, in about 3 minutes, the reservation person got all 7 of us at one table for the nights we wanted. It may have helped that we were in a PH. BTW, when our butler came to introduce himself, he told me not to ask him to try for extra reservations because the ship was full and he couldn’t get any. First time for us having a butler and I was counting on that perk.
  4. New personal record for us today-four! To be fair, one was a post card advertising a 10% sale on certain cruises. The volume of brochures has increased since we sailed in July and booked another cruise while onboard.
  5. We were also on the July 12-19 Bermuda cruise. There were 7 of us traveling together. One couple tested positive for Covid after arriving home. The rest of us are fine up til now. Since we’ve been back for a week I think we’re probably ok but who knows with this virus?
  6. The crowds are unbelievable! Love the ceramics you chose. I have a similar pitcher. We’ve eaten at that restaurant. Liked it so much we went twice on our last trip to Florence. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
  7. Recently returned from a 7-day NYC-Bermuda cruise. The line to turn in Big O points for merch was huge! Couldn’t understand how folks earned enough points in only 7 days to get anything worthwhile. I suppose they did nothing else but participate in the points-yielding activities. We were busy doing other stuff.
  8. It is 9091. I was confusing it with the first cabin we selected which was further aft, Happy it’s only 30 seconds to coffee. Great memory! It was Regatta to Alaska in 2015. We were on the same trivia team that also included Hawaiidan. Haven’t been on such a great trivia team since then! Hope we get the chance to cruise with you and Teresa again.
  9. Opinions on 9091 on Riviera, please. We prefer to be aft but is this too far aft? I know it’s a walk to the Concierge lounge for coffee.
  10. We were on your cruise on Insignia and my husband got smoothies from Waves.
  11. In use on Insignia in Bermuda this week.
  12. Try Oceania. Best croissants outside of Paris. In fact, all breakfast pastries are outstanding.
  13. Our experience was the same on the first segment of the 2019 ATW. As soon as people we met found out we were “segmenters” and not on the full ATW, they really didn’t want to know us. We were traveling with friends and met another segment couple so we had a great time. Still traveling with the new friends we met. Agree that our experience would not prevent us from booking future ATW segments if there are itineraries we want.
  14. We stayed here also on an overnight at Ashdod. Exactly as Joe describes. We saved so much time doing this instead of going back to the ship and starting out again the next day.
  15. Thanks for this. I was going to check Mike’s site because I know his takes pictures of absolutely everything. You saved me the trouble. I’ll forward to our friend.
  16. ORV, do you know what the beer offerings are? Maybe they’re something our friend would be happy with.
  17. Thanks for all your responses. I also suggested to our friend that he contact his TA if was still unsure.
  18. Does anyone know if O allows passengers to bring beer on board at embarkation? Asking for a friend who has the basic drink package but would like to have beer in his cabin to enjoy on his veranda between lunch and dinner. He told me read that wine was ok but not beer.
  19. Why can’t you book both nights in the same hotel on your own? Why do you have to go through SS?
  20. Online check-in required for our July 12 cruise.
  21. We just used Timeshifter for a trip to Spain in April. Works great going to Europe. It’s a little hard to follow the plan for the return trip because you’re still on vacation and want to do all the things you planned, not necessarily adjust your schedule to what Timeshifter suggests. We live on the East Coast and I have worse jet lag coming home than going. I just deal with it when I’m home.
  22. Lois, you can also contact your airline directly for wheelchair assistance. Go into your reservation on your airline’s website and search for assistance. There should be a way to request it directly through the site. I would do this myself rather than wait for the cruise line to do it for you.
  23. Another thank you for your helpful description of parking at the pier. We’re also on the July 12 sailing. My husband said he doesn’t want to deal with the parking lot so we’ll probably take a car service from our home in Westchester. The round trip cost will probably be the same as 7 days of parking. We wouldn’t normally cruise to Bermuda but we’re using FCC that has to used by 12/31/22. This cruise fit our schedule and no flying to the port was very appealing. We have 5 friends joining us so it should be fun.
  24. I had to jump in here even though I’m not cruising. We were on a land trip in Spain last month. Filled out Spain travel health form 48 hours prior to arrival. No testing required. Needed negative Covid test for return flight to US. Hotel arranged testing service to come to our room. 50€ pp. Expensive but not absurd. Daughter got test at pharmacy near her hotel for 40€ pp. Both easy peasy. None of the Covid protocols in Spain were difficult.
