Banana splits in Luminae so I don’t have to wait for gelato like a regular person. And the way folks bow as you walk by.

Are there a lot of cabins available? If so, I’d wait.

If my question is your biggest problem in life, then you should be grateful. The only thing I ever asked for in Luminae was a banana split, but I now see what a burden that was for the staff. I know they try to take care of you because I listened and watched as they ran all over the ship to “take care of” one particular demanding customer.

Thank you for that. When you ask a question people can say “no it doesn’t work like that” or they can get their panties in a twist. People around here ask for just about anything. I know from seeing it that in the Retreat they go out of their way to take care of you.

I know it must be confusing when I wrote “I’m on an expensive cruise but I don’t want to pay for anything. People are always asking what they can order in Luminae from the MDR. I’m a freeloader and want to know what I can get from Tuscan for free.” Thanks for giving me a chance to clarify my post. I appreciate it. Fortunately the President of Celebrity reads this forum. She knows as someone who has booked a Sky Suite twice that Celebrity needs my business to keep the company afloat. So she has generously allowed us to pay for our meals in Tuscan for the entire length of our cruise.

I see your point. I liked Eden on the Beyond for the view of the wake. On Eclipse, I recall large windows in Tuscan but we were sitting where there wasn't any view. Maybe we'll book it on the first day or when there is a discount.

Are they on the same cruise ship, one floor away? I’ll ask what they have in Luminae. Husband wants to go to Tuscan once. I don’t think it’s worth $55 a person.

I don't know MSC. I am interested in a cruise that circles Japan but they only seem to have 3/4/5 day cruises that go to Taiwan. Am I stuck booking with Celebrity on the Millennium?

Since Luminae is right above Tuscan on the Millennium, would they let you order anything from the Tuscan menu, and save you the $55 per person charge for pasta? Does Luminae have any pasta dishes on the menu?

I can't seem to find this in a search. Can someone tell me when they serve lunch on the Retreat sun deck on a port day on Millie? I know that Luminae isn't open.

Yes. I know. As I said, I've been on that cruise. When I boarded, the line to get on the BUS was 2 to 3 hours long. Then 30-45 minutes to get from the bus on to the ship. That is the reason, IMHO, that they changed the cruise in 2025 (or is it 2026) to go to/from Buenos Aires and NOT Valparaiso. Because the port of Valparaiso is not well managed.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been too good about doing what people on the internet tell me to do. And if someone is in the Retreat, I think the only appropriate tip for the butler is $500 per day. Anything else shows that you don’t have class.

I’ve been there and done that. And that’s why celebrity is cutting out Chile from future cruises and focusing on Uruguay and Argentina.

I’ll ask why you didn’t ask this or that. Why the cheerleader post if you, yourself had some concerns? If a President can’t be bothered to listen to some polite feedback and say “let me have my assistant look into it”, then I think we have a problem.

I'm seeing pretty limited times for massages on Millie. The cruise isn't until December but they have published spa services. Will they add times later on or will I need to book onboard? These times seem to be the same every day. But the prices change. They advertise really low prices that you can only get at 5AM in the morning. 😁 Edit: I thought it was because I picked couple's spa services but individual times look very similar. Nothing late morning or in the afternoon.

The reason I did a move up bid to a Sky Suite on the Beyond is that I didn’t want the window cabin, I mean Infinite Veranda. For me paying money for a window is an infinite “no”.

What the? You're asking where the good coffee is and you drink an americano? This thread is already off the rails. 😁 You could at least ask about red eyes or macchiatos. Just go to Cafe Al Bacio. It's pretty good. No judgment? Too late.

Celebrity is great. It's a nice balance between party time on Carnival / Royal Caribbean and the sleepy atmosphere on Viking. If you want to celebrate a retirement, consider something like a Sky Suite or Aqua class cabin which each come with their own restaurant. Aqua is usually a lot less expensive than a suite, even the small Sky Suite. Why leave your money to your grandchildren?

Our HOA isn't horrible, but typical example is, you have to paint your mailbox every year or so. A few years ago they went after your shutters. You were told you could get them painted or get them replaced under warranty. I had to do a bit of homework since we are 2nd owners. And it wasn't like anyone's shutters looked bad. The HOA just decided they didn't look "good enough". I wish our HOA set the dress code rules for the restaurants on board. 😁

I see maybe 3 different Japan cruises. More southern or including northern Japan. One going from Tokyo to Seoul. Some to Busan or Jeju Island, Korea. I’ve never been to Japan and I’d like to see northern but I’m flexible. I’ve heard Jeju Island is beautiful and Busan maybe not so interesting. Any suggestions or comments?
