https://www.icw.gg/      website of Island Coachways.  Look for the Guernsey Explorer. Nice tour around the Island; and before or afterwards you have enough time to explore Peter Port itself.  You can reserve to be sure you have a seat at the time that suits you best. You can also just go to their busstop near the terminal and see whether they still have seats.  Guernsey is known for the very good weather, but also for the possibility that tenders cannot enter the harbour because of the waves/wind.  Enjoy the island (and the shopping).

Thanks for the information.  Is the Castle Cornet walkable from the port?

We are leaving on a cruise next week with Balcony room. We received an email offering a move over offer to an interior room with 100% cruise fare refund as Refundable Onboard Credit.

Has anyone taken this offer or has any Information?  Can the refundable onboard credit be converted to cash?

    Thanks for any information.

Have not heard back from Princess so I assume the offer is gone. Oh well, still going on a wonderful cruise at the price I thought it was. Thanks for everyone's comments.

Sounds pretty awesome.  Either way, enjoy your cruise!

Where are you going?  I suppose that would have some effect on my decision if I were in your shoes.

We are going to the Panama Canal but had planned to go throughout the ship during the passage.

Left message to get more information but might not even hear back. Lol

Well, in the UK and Ireland at least, the language is the same (more or less).

To me, half the fun of a holiday, cruise or on land, is the research and planning. There is a wealth of experience on this site as well as Google; so, unless time is short, you should not be put off by being in a foreign country.

A lot of your decisions will be a balance of wishes and budget, but most people start by picking a hotel and working from there. The hard bit is deciding which of the vast number of attractions in London to miss.

Some people like to DIY everything, while others book organised tours based in London. Of course the choice is entirely yours, but if you want advice on a projected plan, post it here and you will get helpful advice.

I have looked at Hampton by Hilton at Waterloo. It looks centrally located.

    They have a good reputation.

I expect that you know that you could make your own arrangements for a lot less money. Public transport in the UK is generally good and pretty reliable. I guess that you are paying for the convenience of having someone else to do all the planning.

I have been searching both options. I have never been to Europe and I am a little intimated by doing it on my own. Thanks for your help.

What airport are you arriving at? Where are you cruising from, and how do you plan to get there?

These answers might affect suggestions. (2 nights is going to be essentially a day and a bit of exploration due to jet lag, so convenience for transportation might be the most important.)

We are flying into Heathrow and cruising out of Southampton. Currently planning on taking Uber from Heathrow to hotel. Also planning on taking tour from hotel to Stonehenge and then to Southampton. Interested in hotel near sights. Any help appreciated.

I realized I had forgotten the links and when I went to put them in it said it was too late to edit.  Here it is:

Thanks so much for the link. Our cruise is in May,2020. Trying to get information from them since their schedule does not go out that far.  Thanks again!

Casino. Put non-refundable amount (after you account for all future deductions) into a slot machine. Play for as long as you desire (win a little, lose a little...it's "free" $), then cash out.

Can you also do this on the Ocean Medallion ships? Thanks.

One added balcony issue on Royal-class ships:  The glass-floored SeaWalk, starboardside (and to a lesser extent the SeaView Bar, portside), extend out past the balcony covers and provide a view back into the covered balconies.

The angles make the issue negligible by the time you get down to Dolphin deck, and if mid-forward, even on the Marina deck.   You're covered (pun intended) two ways.

Thanks so much for the info!!

We went to Stirling Castle and William Wallace Monument then walked around Glasgow on the way back since you have to change trains (and stations) If you get off the ship early enough you can catch express train from Glasgow to Stirling which saves you some time. We got to the castle when they opened. My inlaws did the Glasgow HOHO bus... they got a combo deal at the Greenock train station that included a train ticket and HOHO bus.

We are interested in the William Wallace Monument. Did you take the train to it or can you walk? We are just starting our planning and things are confusing. Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks.
