I'll give that a try next time. I was actually doing some research for some place to try poutine and I read something that made a lot of sense. Ordering poutine in Victoria is like ordering a Philly cheese steak in Seattle. Thy might serve it, but it's not necessarily authentic. So I abandoned that idea but I still want to try it just have to wait till I hit eastern Canada. I can't wait for that char sui chicken to come around again 😋.

After we got settled into our new room we went up the the buffet for some lunch. Chopsticks and Lido lunch menu. My lunch.

Lost internet for a while. Went down to the room and our card wasn't in the box so defeated we turned around then I realized we were already wearing our cards duh 🙄. We got an Oceanview this week. Port view right now.

Took some convincing but got my nice new card. I'll probably wait to use my free dinner until Celebration and see if I can use it at Rudi's. Did muster now checking on the room. New signs are posted.

I just want the shiny white card lol. I'm about to follow up now I'm just not ready to be told to mask up.

My mom and I both moved up levels this cruise. I did not expect either to be correct so I'm a little worried hers is platinum and mine is still platinum. I have exactly 200 days and I have checked and double checked And it says platinum is 75-199 and diamond starts at 200, not 201. Guest services said they can check after the new voyage is loaded.

They just announced the housekeeping department has informed them the rooms were not ready. Saved me a trip to go check lol.

Zero count achieved. They are now calling our names and we are free to go. Easiest b2b ever. They say our rooms are ready but I somehow doubt that is true but will check it out once my name is called..

Just informed cbp will not require us to walk off the ship and back on. Once they check us back in we are free to go 😁

In the theater for our b2b meeting. They had champagne and mimosas waiting for us and they our checking us in now for our next sailing.

Good morning. I'm up earlier than I need to be. Repacked this morning and I'm gonna go grab some frozen yogurt for breakfast. We meet in the theater at 9am to checkin for our next cruise. They seem to be pretty efficient with this whole moving cabins thing since so many ppl lost their cabins. They have delivered us numbered luggage tags and our new cabin number is written on the back.

Off to bed now. Turnaround day in the morning.

I had pretty low expectations for Canada. I know this is just a technical stop to check a box on a legal form. I expected a tourist center with some tourist traps and. It much else. My very low expectations were way way too high. There was one shop open with a line that quite literally wrapped around the entire length of the store. I heard town was a 30 minute walk but nothing was open but a couple bars. I don't knownof that was accurate but I didn't bother just turned around and returned to the ship. Back onboard now and probably in the room for the night although I may go out for a late night snack. I ate light at dinner in case I found something i wanted to try in port.

After dinner I went around the ship for my platinum goodies. I missed out on the casino fun play because when I went this afternoon the line was all the way down the Promenade because it was closing at 4. If it had been real money I probably would have waited but the Spirit is set up to give you casino credit. Pass. Got my other goodies the water was a challenge because most of the bars were closed per Canadian regulation but I eventually got it.

Tonight's dinner menu. For my starter I ordered the chicken tenders. Next I had the braised short ribs. For dessert I had the baked alaska. The baked alaska has shrunk but I still enjoyed another great dinner.

The ocean is very calm as we approach Canada. Canadian sunset. From my window table I can see the sun has dropped below the mountains.

16 days. She indicated anything over 14 days but I'm not sure sure that is true. I thought it was at captains discretion. Easier to say carnivals rule than captain mandated it.

Headed to dinner before we arrive in Canada. Looks like we all had the same idea there is a 20-30 minute wait for a table.

Finally got my exercise in and now I'm in line for the VIFP party.

Some fun facts I learned at today's q & a: There are 2065 guests this sailing. There are 1900 expected on the Panama Canal crossing. Around 175 b2b but she couldn't remember the exact number. And one not so fun fact: Masks will be required indoors on the next sailing because of the length of the cruise.

Ooops q & a is at 2. Luckily I favorited it in the app and it let me know to get my butt down there now 😅.

I'm making a good comeback on the duck hunt. I found 3 today bringing it to 5-7. I'm at least back in the race. I went by the cabin just now to brag and my mom is taking a nap so I'm gonna go look for more and work in some exercise time before the q & a event at 3 with the CD.

Not satisfied with my steak i went up to Lido for some broccoli which is my secret weapon for filling my belly for not a lot of calories. They had Kung poa chicken at chopsticks which is a big weakness so I got a small plate of it to go with ny broccoli and a shrimp wonton. It was all so good I wish my brunch experience could be this good. I also got some dessert my favorite of all the cakes the chocolate peanut butter cake. The chocolate extravaganza has returned and there were a lot of tempting items to choose from but I resisted except for my one piece of cake. Lido lunch menu.

36 minute wait for a table but my original assessment was correct- I did not starve. I see a new thread started about the same thing I was going to point out, the brunch menu has been scaled back quite a bit. A number of items are missing and the pay section has been expanded and of course the hours reduced. I still look forward to brunch but they have definitely taken a popular favorite on carnival and reduced it to the point of being almost unrecognizable. Happy to see the yogurt parfait still on the menu. I ordered the steak and eggs many times when it was filet and it was always bad. To me the loss of filet is no loss because that was the worst filet I've ever had and it was consistently bad. So for research I ordered the new version today. I really wanted to enjoy this so I could say to all the complainers about the missing filet how good this was. But nope - hard hard pass will not order again it was that bad. I am also happy to see my cheese grits still available I imagine if you put heaven in a bowl it would taste like those yummy cheese grits 😋.
