  1. Used to be the age was (still is?) 12 as cutoff for the kids menu. I wouldn't expect my 15 year old to order off of it.
  2. Some good info there. I would recommend posting it also in the First Time Cruiser Forum.
  3. Excursions for me are definitely not a must do. I enjoy the port days when people are off the ship and it's quiet and you have plenty of room to just chill out on the ship. I think one of the mistakes newer cruisers make is trying to cram too much in to a seven day cruise. Now, if you haven't already go to the Mexican Riviera forum and post the same thing and peruse all the threads there. There is a lot of great information available. 4. Well, what kind of comfortable shoes do you wear at home? 😉
  5. What is the significance of having a room near a glass elevator?
  6. I can give you half an answer, this is what the FAQ's still say: If there is a service issue can the service charges be adjusted on board? Guest satisfaction is the highest priority at Norwegian Cruise Line. We have structured a guest satisfaction program designed to handle any concerns about service or on-board product quickly and efficiently. However, in the event a service issue should arise during your cruise please let our on-board guest services desk staff know right away, so that we can address these in a timely manner. It is our goal to reach a satisfactory solution to any issue when it happens and make sure our guests can focus on enjoying their cruise. Should your concerns not be met with satisfaction you can adjust the charges.
  7. It's strictly up to you whether or not you want to leave an additional gratuity. You certainly aren't obligated to since you already paid the mandatory tips. From what I've observed most don't tip extra and still get good service. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your cruise.
  8. Recommend you do a quick Google for Tampa Cruise Terminal, they'll have contact numbers you can call and ask if you don't get a quick answer here. You may also want to ask on the Florida Departures forum. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/
  9. Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that prices are going up for everything considering what global inflation is like. Grocery prices are up, utilities, gas, you name it. None of those folks notified me of price increases but I don't feel like they are trying to "sneak in" a price increase. It is what it is.
  10. You can purchase onboard within the first two days. https://www.ncl.com/specialty-dining-package/faq
  11. Note that the OP is from the U.K. They have different terms/conditions/payments.
  12. From the NCL FAQ'S: What is the minimum age for purchase and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages? Passengers must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol. With the exception of US sailings, Norwegian permits young adults to purchase and personally consume wine and beer only while onboard and with the consent of an accompanying parent. Authorization will be given only when the accompanying parent completes the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form. This form can be obtained and completed at the Guest Services Desk upon embarkation of the vessel. However, passengers 18 years of age or older are permitted to consume beer and wine when sailing on round-trip European and Australian voyages without having to complete the Young Adult Alcoholic Beverage Waiver form.
  13. 102 reviews for Prima vs 2350 for the Pearl. Not a good data comparison with the Prima being brand new. Much more for the young ones to do on the larger ships. Oh, and the kids don't write those reviews. 🙂
  14. Why would they if it isn't required? You'll be fine. Enjoy your cruise.
  15. Latest requirement from Carnival web site: https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices/covid-19-guest-protocols?icid=advisory_cruisehealth_102522
  16. I would listen to @chengkp75 over the "brand ambassador" in matters related to engineering and ships systems.
  17. Also, if you haven't checked it out yet CC has a sub-forum for cruise/travel insurance. Lots of great info to peruse that may apply to your situation. Here is the link: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/499-cruisetravel-insurance/
