On March cruise there was a line of people at customer service at embark requesting to upgrade( for fee) Cruise was sold out but they had a wait list started and said people would be contacted after sailing if there were any no shows

Bid strength was strong. My daughter way overbid but an upgrade was important to her. Inside to obstructed balcony. Funny story, she then called to inquire about the cost of just traditional transfer to mini suite since there were many available. Princess rep told her they couldn’t quote because of the successful bid. Day before we left, received an e mail bid was cancelled and she was back in original cabin. Princess rep had filed a form that cancelled the bid

It depends on if the new fare is a special promotion. If it is not a special promotion, they can just 're-fare' and transfer you. However, if the fare for B4 applies to 'new bookings only, you would lose any perks from your original booking. I've had it happen both ways.

Public Service Announcement- My daughter bid and received an upgrade from IG to OVB. Noticing there were still many mini suites open and prices were dropping rapidly, she called Princess to see if she could purchase, not bid, an upgrade. She was told there was a'code' and that the reservation could not be modified with the code in place. The agent could file paperwork that would take 3-5 days to remove the code. She told them to file the paperwork and was planning on asking about upgrade at check in. This morning , the day before we leave, she found her accepted bid cancelled and they are back in an inside cabin. FYI- she is a travel agent. No luck so far with anyone at Princess that can help but she is not giving up. Luckily not flying to port so she can spend the entire day on the phone.

My entire family, even 5 year old granddaughters do this. Whenever we do, others in the elevator tend to chime in. For those of you who want numbers to make sense- relax. You are on a cruise. Have fun. Besides, if you ever cruise with more than one cruise line it helps you remember which one you are currently on.

Elevators on the Discovery in June still anouncing deck names. Everyone would start singing on 'Fiesta'

Yes, the only way to tell how many cabins there are is by doing a mock booking and counting cabins on all decks. I like to think of it as helping the time till embark pass, not too much time on my hands.

Always use deck name also. Helps with clarification

i happen to enjoy the deck names. I feel it retains some of the elegance and class from the golden years of cruising.BTW, HAL decks also use names though not that colorful (Promenade, Upper Promenade, etc..

There were 90 mini suites left 10 days before we sailed and the minimum bid had not lowered.

Can you confirm for me that if you purchased Princess Plus at the 50$ rate, you now have to pay the 3$ difference for all 15$ drinks. Thank you if you can confirm or deny. We will upgarde the first day if this is true but not for the desserts or classes.

Head waiter brought one to twin granddaughters on Discovery to Alaska last June. They loved it especially since it was made just for them.

Most of what I've read has been embedded in specific cruise reviews, You did not mention their ages but I can tell you my 4 year old GDs loved the Treehouse on the Discovery to Alaska last year. We had to drag them out every night. They can not wait for the kid's club on our Hawaii cruise next month. Be prepared for a lot of extra items to bring home. They made T-shirts, bracelets, teddy bears and backpacks. You might get a more detailed response if you post in family cruises board.
