  1. I will add that we did check out the buffet in the evening just to see and it was pizza, pasta, salad, and a few stations different each evening. Many stations were closed.
  2. Just got off Reflection today. All of the items mentioned above were gone from MDR menus. The every day sirloin was not good either. I will say our dinners in the speciality restaurants were all excellent with very good beef.
  3. I don’t remember reading other threads about this. We (DD who never takes a bad picture) have enjoyed this prior to the restart. Our last two cruises since have been slightly disappointing as the available spots have been decreased and one every night is a green screen. This means you get 4-5 of the same shot with a different background, so if someone looks iffy, it is the same for all of them. We are cruising shortly on Reflection and did pre purchase it a few months ago, but it may be the last time for us, especially as we will be cruising more without the photogenic one.
  4. How accurate are the menus recently? We have cruised twice in the last year with pretty accurate results. I prebook 2-3 specialty restaurants as we are not in a suite and a party of 3. DH does not like to eat at 8pm. For our upcoming Reflection (1/8) cruise, the order of the menus has changed 2x in the last few days. Today, lobster is on day 1. I would like to make a switch, but what if different again tomorrow?? I am reluctant to wait until boarding as we are not Retreat guests. Anyone have any updates in recent cruises?
  5. We usually ask our steward to just service our room in the evening while we are at dinner. We mostly travel with a twentysomething who wants to lounge in the morning and not leave the cabin until lunch. We do like our towels changed in the evening and the bed straightened but otherwise we are good. Hope we continue to have an option but will adjust if needed.
  6. We have done this twice and are booked again in a few weeks. It is so much fun. DD has taken on very active roles, I have done less active and DH has been timekeeper and ice burg watcher🤣 definitely book it if you can
  7. Did you make reservations for The Porch for lunch or dinner? We are thinking of trying it for dinner on a night the MDR does not appeal and we can’t get an early time at LCG.
  8. Please report back how transportation is from Terminal 29 as others have reported limited taxis available. Thanks.
  9. I updated my app, both cruises showed up. An hour later, back to only one. 🤷‍♀️
  10. I had suggested to my DH to follow these TA threads in an effort to convince him he would not be sea sick. So glad he never listens to me. He swears by Dramamine, ginger pills, and his new stable- vodka and ginger beer in frequent doses. feel better
  11. I know you posted your cabin number earlier, are you in a corner family veranda? If so, could you post a pix or two? And congrats on a great veranda. Stay safe and healthy on the way across.
  12. I will be following and taking notes. A trip to Tuscany, then a Med cruise, followed by a TA is my bucket list retirement cruise. Enjoy your trip and stay safe.
  13. We simply walked over to the taxi area and got a cab for the 3 of us. It was very easy and I think the price was posted near the area. My DH is not an Uber fan for some reason or DD would have just ordered up an Uber. It is a short drive to the airport.
  14. I am going agree with the other replies in that Europe is awfully hot in August. We even had a heat wave at the end of June in 2019 in Venice and then on cruise to Rome. When we go back it will be in May or September. We have done Millie south bound and did a week land trip before on our own. We rented a car (Hertz) in Anchorage, drove to Denali and down to Seward. We returned the car in Seward and walked across the lot to the ship. It was easily one of our favorite cruises ever and is definitely on the list to do again. Our trip was late June/early July and had great weather. I did a lot of research on where to stay etc on the Alaska board trip reports.
  15. Your pictures are wonderful. They really make me hate COVID even more then I already do. We had an Ireland/Iceland cruise booked in May 2020 that was to overnight in Reykjavik and spend 1 day in Akureyi. We had small groups tours booked for all 3 days hitting the highlights. The itinerary no longer exists as it was round trip from Dublin on the Reflection and Dublin is no longer a cruise ship port. I am throughly loving your report and pictures so please keep them coming. I am hoping this itinerary exists in a few years when I am retired.
  16. We frequently travel with friends and he does not drink alcohol anymore. On our most recent cruise, we all had the AL package and he “downgraded” for a fee to the premium non alcoholic package. He was able to get non alcoholic wine at dinner. If they opted for the “cruise only”fare, what package would he need for this to be included? I have searched and not found an answer. thank you in advance.
  17. Jim, I guess I missed it earlier but what type of test kits did you use and where did you get them? Thanks
  18. Several years ago, we always flew in the day of the cruise due to work and school for DD. We booked a rare February cruise that worked with DD school, but it was Super Bowl in Miami and hotel prices were outrageous, so we planned on flying early am. Two days before, a Nor’easter was predicted and we were able to change our flights to the evening before. The problem was hotels were booked and we ended up sharing a room with our friends who travel with us. He snored…loudly. That was it… we now alway go a day before and currently plan 2 days before due to airline issues.
  19. Waiting to get off Summit. I upgraded prior to the cruise. No Decoy Cab, no Villa Maria SB from day 1. All bars but casino ran out of Aperol. DD drinks white zin which was hard to find also. Some nights, no classic Pinot Grigio in MDR and DH was not offered anything else. We enjoyed the cruise but did find it annoying.
  20. Buddy is still working, we just toured with them on Saturday.
