  1. Thanks for the hint on that. I thought for sure it was in the fall. Spring started yesterday in Canada, not March 1. So no one should cruise for 2 months in the spring and November and December. It’s not everyone’s dream to be cold in Alaska. But wait, you can’t go to Alaska either because kids will be out. There will always be some kids.
  2. Some people do not live in the USA and don’t have school schedules memorized. I couldn’t tell you when spring break is. From what I hear it can be anything from Feb to the end of March. That gets rid of a ton of holidays for those of us that don’t live in palm tree county.
  3. If I remember correctly mine showed the entire set of cruises but only the first was “populated”.
  4. It’s the time of year I guess. After several 7 day back to back cruises I’m happy that the next cruise(s) of mine will have very little appeal to kids. It’s going to be different for sure.
  5. I’m pretty sure staffing isn’t the problem. It’s likely more of let’s see where we can cut and make due. Every business I’ve ever worked for is like that. I’m speaking of companies with shareholders. Let’s just see if there is any change, let’s say 2 years down the road. I’d be willing to bet nothing will be different.
  6. They have to appeal to more than 2 people. They need to get internet that actually works. Also keep bars open after midnight. They also need to improve their entertainment. I doubt if discounts in specialty restaurants for 20 year olds without kids is at the top of the list.
  7. Their IT specialists should be home from kindergarten now. Maybe it will work better tonight 😛.
  8. That’s where I’ve run into issues as well. Can’t open menus on my phone for one, but that happened last time I was on a ship too. No problem on my iPad even with the update.
  9. Take the phone and throw it out the nearest window. Unfortunately I’ve gotten that error too but it seems to work later. Strangely enough, it seems to work almost perfectly on my iPad. My Samsung phone, not so much.
  10. I found the lines to be very, very long at the Dutch cafe and explorations on the Koningsdam in November. I was lucky if it was only a 20 min wait. It didn't help that each person seemed to be getting a number of coffees each and not simple coffee that just get poured into a cup and done.
  11. Oh yes, the old t-shirt, photo, shore ex. An oldie but a goodie. I can tell you without a doubt anything I buy onboard is MUCH more expensive than that. When I was in club orange a couple brought their daughter into club orange. That child smacked a spoon against a glass the entire meal. The mother supplemented that with singing, repeating the same word over and over and saying nothing to the child about the spoon behavior. Contrast that with a couple that brought their child into Sel de mer. They were in there for a very LONG time. If I wouldn't have seen that child with my own eyes, I wouldn't have thought she was there. As I walked out, I said I hope you don't mind but I really admire how well behaved your child is. I wish all kids were like that.
  12. It’s definitely on an angle. I’m not super tall but I found it somewhat awkward.
  13. Canadians aren't either, at least I'm not seeing anything close to those prices.
  14. Same. I've seen both. Some kids are lovely and you wouldn't even know they are there. Some, not so much.
  15. I find this an odd step. Specialty restaurants and getting more and more difficult to book on board. Also with hia. It makes me wonder if hal is doing this to fill the restaurants even more and ultimately charge more.
  16. In post 10 the op said they were in a suite. Maybe the op can clarify that because $6000 does seem high especially if its usd.
  17. I suspect that your experience will be much better with the dining on celebrity. Is the price the same? I would think the celebrity price would be much higher but I really don’t know.
  18. I hadn’t seen that either but it’s always a possibility that I have forgotten. I believe the op upgraded to a suite, not a veranda.
  19. Unfortunately the skip the line seems to be a myth. I’ve had club orange on my last few cruises. The line has been much, much slower at the front desk and also with shorex. I’ve also waited to get into club orange for breakfast most days. Some days the length has been fairly long.
  20. Hal’s “free” upgrades are never free. Usually what they do is increase the price of the oceanview to match the balcony price. They must feel people are gullible.
  21. That is simply amazing. It’s a wonder they didn’t ask, are you sure you didn’t go? I have to wonder if they do it just to see if people won’t notice.
  22. I'm a 5 star and I really don't drink that much. It still works ok for me.
  23. Your attachment isn't working for me. That said, it seems every shorter cruise lately is jammed to the rafters. Perhaps the person you quoted can provide a link as they always ask of posters.
  24. You are only allowed to do that if you stay up past 10PM ;).
