  1. Aren't you guaranteed that with a neptune to get your choice of dining? I believe that used to be the case anyway. THanks.
  2. I’ve looked ahead but the strange thing is that I’ve been given totally different numbers when I’ve called. It’s absolutely a must do to look at a deck plan.
  3. I don’t see one person saying you should do that. People need to stop with this idea that only the worst cabins are available are available for upsells and guarantee assignments. It comes across to me as sour grapes. If you don’t want to take an upsell then don’t but to give advice is another. It’s like me commenting on a sports team. I know less than zero about sports.
  4. Nope you are 100 percent wrong. I’ve taken a number of upsells and in every case I was able to pick my exact cabin out of what was available. It’s good to post accurate information. I highly doubt anyone is going to pick a worse cabin than what they have. That makes no sense.
  5. You can drink water out of the tap. Another idea is to get a drink card and put your cheaper items on there this not using the 15 drinks for that.
  6. It was nuts on the koningsdam. I took the last table at 5:40 as I recall. It was embarkation day for the thanksgiving cruise so that may have come into play.
  7. Mine has been stuck on the same day (menu) for several days. Personally I would not take that as gospel.
  8. It’s not. It’s you that seems so puzzled, as you have posted.
  9. Yup, that’s my sweet spot at 6. When I’m at home and working at eat around 5, sometimes earlier if I’m doing the cooking. I get up at 4am weekdays so 5 pm is like midnight 😛.
  10. Thank you for all that information. Much appreciated. It’s been ages since traditional has been at 5:45 to my recollection BUT I’ve cruised mostly on the pinnacle ships since around 2018.
  11. I think it’s highly dependent on when you book. For instance if you book Alaska for late April or early may I imagine those bookings would be less busy/booked than August. Just because you haven’t had trouble and make one call doesn’t mean it’s exactly the same as your situation. This is puzzling that you would think so.
  12. Don't give them any ideas ;). I'm wondering if any other cruise line is charging for an extra appetizer in specialty restaurants or is hal alone in this silly endeavor.
  13. Yes disembarkation on a Wed is totally different then Saturday. It just seems so prevalent on cruise critic to discount the experience of others. That's really my issue.
  14. That was 60 plus years ago. Where do cookies fit into that? My former mil used to fill up on pies and sweets all day then would get upset when we were making food for ourselves wondering how we could be hungry. I've never gotten away with eating like that.
  15. So you didn't take a cab but you know it wasn't a problem. OK. I think I'll take the information from someone that did.
  16. Just heard back from my friend that was on the Rotterdam for 30 plus days and just disembarked yesterday. Early dining was at 5:15. He was not sure but he thought late was still at 8. He also mentioned that open dining seemed to function well. It was not the disaster that it was when we were both on the koningsdam in November.
  17. Yes the other proteins are definitely larger. I don’t usually have pasta. I know someone that says they don’t like sel de mer because it’s too much food. Yes it is but I am careful what I order. They also mentioned how good and hot the fries were at the Dutch cafe. I can say I’ve never eaten one fry from there.
