It makes total sense that you wouldn’t but people say they have and it’s been a lot of people so it seems like it does. It makes little difference to me because I’ve been a 5 star for a while.

The drinks didn’t show up on my bill on the koningsdam nor did I seem to get credit for it although it seems most people have. I was maybe having 2 or 3 drinks a day and a couple of Perrier, water or virgin drinks or coffee. I’m not sure if others were maxing out or coming close it it.

It seems to me that they had silent disembarkation before Covid, maybe 5 years ago. As far as I recall it seemed to go fine but I could see some being confused.

Stated on your disembarkation. What does that mean? Disembarkation paperwork?

That's immaterial. They still come into play period. Hal insurance they don't.

I hear this all the time. I want cancel for any reason insurance. I’ve yet to hear of any plan privately that matches Hal’s. Even on Princess you get a fcc if you cancel for any reason. I want cash. Iirc celebrity’s plan for Canadians is something like 50 percent back. Ridiculous. If you get a private policy you have to concern yourself with pre-existing conditions. None of that with Hal’s.

I have no doubt that that ship did some wonderful itineraries that’s will never be replicated. For me, a beautiful ship is more important because I do tend to stay on the ship more than I used to. I have precious few holidays for now so I’m not interested in taking super long cruises that are difficult to get to. I may never be. I realize that is probably much different than a lot of people on this board. I do hope for those that love the small ships they they will support those ships instead of saying one thing then doing all cruises on larger ships.

Agree with you 100 percent. I think there are just more vocal people about the prinsendam. I personally know 2 people that sailed that ship and neither was particularly impressed with it. That said I’ve never been on the ship and I’m no fan of the old ships like the people seem to be that sailed that ship.

I've never seen it in the canaletto as has been suggested. Maybe as a pop up in the pinnacle. Too bad the people that work on the website have never been on a hal ship.

There is no Tamarind on the westerdam

I don't think anyone hated canaletto more than I did so its shocking that I feel so warm towards it now. I only go to the pinnacle for lunch now and I have to say I thought only one lunch was very good last time. The rest were meh.

I used to be a huge fan of the tamarind but I really adore sel de mer. Canaletto is so much better than it used to be. I would put it at a very close second to sel de mer. Tamarind has eliminated so many of my favourite items and the desserts are meh. The desserts I liked have all been eliminated too. I know people like the steak in the tamarind but I’ve tried it a few times and could take it or leave it.

Just a slight correction, you need to buy it the day before final payment. If you are past final then yes everything together.

I’ve done the same but it’s in San Diego. I take the bottle off the ship with me when I leave. Apparently Fort Lauderdale has taken away empty bottles from some. Haven’t heard mention of other ports. Like I mentioned they are ok with crew bringing water bottles on so it seems more of a money thing.

It was just a suggestion. Of course you don’t use shampoo at home 🙄. I guess if you want to bring everything but the kitchen sink it’s fine. Maybe you bring the kitchen sink so it doesn’t smell bathroom-y 😉.

Why bring dish soap? Doesn’t the shampoo or shower gel work just as well? They are all soap after all. I’ve seen pictures on here of crew members bringing on large bottles of water in plastic. If the passengers can’t bring it on, there rule should be for everyone.

Please don’t ever stop mentioning the good and bad. I personally want to hear it. If I want something sugar coated I could get that from hal. I look forward to your posts every day.

You are the one. I suppose if you are impressed by cauliflower steak or cheese stuffed shells hal should be happy. That doesn't even cut it for dinner at home.
