I have cruised Princess, celebrity, carnival and hal. None of the cruises on the other lines were “exotic”. They were all different. Carnival is was too noisy, Princess seemed like wall to wall people and celebrity was meh, especially the food. What I really enjoy is hal pinnacle ships. They have the amenities I enjoy. The food with the exception of Rudi’s stand alone is average. On another note, I’m still trying to figure out what a 2 litre bottle of dr is.

Someone was complaining recently that her husband wasn’t allowed in club orange because he had shorts on. Also I was in Canaletto in March or possibly last November and a guy was turned away because he had shorts on. It happens all the time.

I thought you said it was your first cruise with hal. I must be thinking of someone else. Good for airlines. I don’t spend weeks on a plane. Not comparable to me.

Really? I’ve never seen that once at the pinnacle. I was in the tamarind one night and this guy next to me was upset because he wanted two entrees and they would charge for that. At that time the entrees were much bigger then they are now. He ended up ordering every appetizer on the menu. I wanted to stick around to see if he ate it all but I wasn’t motivated to do it. I doubt if a lot of people do that.

Same. I tend to watch what I spend on drink wise because my vacations cost a lot already. When I have the package I’m more likely to drink coffee, Perrier or even virgin drinks. I do tend to have a couple liquor drinks in the evening so it’s likely a wash.

I feel like hal has decreased their shore excursion prices over the last few years at least where I tend to go. I can’t speak for Alaska because I live where it feel like it’s cold 10 months of the year and I don’t want to pay to be cold.

Thanks for the info on the celebrity board. I don’t generally read it but my next cruise may be on celebrity because things are just adding up against hal for me plus my work schedule is not helping. You do know that one of those squares chocolates on hal are maybe 50 or 100 calories. If you are talking about those cream filled things at the Dutch cafe I bet those are at least 1000. I’ve never been able to eat like that. If I did I’d probably gain 50 lbs and I put on between 10 to 15 thousand steps plus I also exercise quite a lot. If people enjoy the chocolates why should anyone get worked up about the fact that they do? It must cost hal such a tiny bit of money. Since you are new you wouldn’t feel the death by a thousand cuts like others do that have supported hal financially over many years.

Hal makes the best bloody Caesar’s anywhere. I even love to have a virgin one before dinner. The cabana guys used to love to tease me about my salad in a cup. Anyway I’m one who likes a chocolate. I eat pretty sensibly until supper. I couldn’t tell you what desserts they have at the Dutch cafe, at the lido, etc. I never go to the dive in and rarely eat the pizza. Just because you like a chocolate here and there doesn’t mean you are in it to gain as much as possible.

Funny how people will go on and on about deals and free cruises they’ve gotten but don’t you dare respond to that because you will be beaten into a pulp. I guess I need to take a page out of your play book and stamp my feet and cross my arms and tell people they are not allowed to dispute what I say. That was hilarious by the way 😂. The lobster is incredible at rudi’s. So worth it.

Me too except for I haven’t made reservations yet. I would rather go to caneletto and tamarind than the pinnacle. This just cements it.

I have no desire to sit in a casino inhaling smoke when I can be outside in the warmth with the sound of the ocean. Not much of a decision.

Nope. Random people that haven’t sailed much or recently are getting these offers. They have nothing to do with the casino. Since we’ve gone over it so much you shouldn’t be confused. Remember you get offers because you spend $2 or 3 hundred K per trip or maybe per hand 😛😂🤪.

I’ve heard people say they’ve gotten chocolates by asking. I haven’t had that luck. As a matter of fact last November you couldn’t even get them on dressy nights. I heard every excuse in the book. These stewards where almost the worst I’ve had on a hal ship so that might have been part of the issue. I had a lovely female steward last time but I just get tired of having to beg for small things.

How about charging people for cruises. I pay plenty for mine. I get super tired of this charge more attitude. When you book your next cruise get them to add another $500 or $1000 to the total.

I’m speaking of the upcharge items like lobster in both the pinnacle and the tamarind. You mentioned upcharge items at 50 percent off. That’s precisely what I answered. I’m not speaking about the restaurant charge. That’s a charge not an upcharge.

I was told on the koningsdam they don't give that discount anymore. Emailed the mariner society. Crickets. Called they said that's not a thing.

That is crazy. Was that in Vancouver though or was it not yhe koningsdam.

My point is you don’t need wifi to use it. I’m not talking about behind the scenes but I know people love to correct others.
