  1. No mantle no problem! Build a pedestal! a big one. I don't think I have ever been put up on a pedestal, but your post gives me hope. "There's dad on that BIG A## pedestal he built for himself". Sounds good. I have to plan a trip to Greece and Italy , research!

  3. yeah i agree. Now i do not only have to go bar to bar to find out which has the wine like to drink . This is my pet peeve with return to cruising, you find a wine or top shelf spirit once, only to never find it again until the last night of the cruise. NOW, I have to find TWO bars that have the wine I like to drink, order a glass from each bar go to guest services, drinking double fisted the whole way, price check it. Then return to those bars and order again have the bar tender use the "other system" , return to guest services double fisted . Forgot I have to wait like 5 minutes between orders. Price check at guest services . Now I am 4 glasses of wine into this research and i am to remember, what wine was my favorite, the bar I was ordering my favorite wine from and what system to have the bartender use for best price. You're are right WOW! just wow. I am not going to remember this! then i will have to repeat the process! good luck by the end of the day and i only have 15 drinks per day! I will never remember! next day---- repeat.
  4. I looked at the picture of the officers posted above. There is a Rui M. ( my eyes are not good enough to make it all out) on the bottom left. I assume he is the Rui that loves fountain time. I am Charlie the guy who NEEDS glasses 👓!
  5. is the "crown grill bar menu" different from the 'crown bar'. I looked at the link above and saw that the " new crown grill bar menu" listed Veure Clicquuot and caymas as wine by the glass. I did not see them listed elsewhere. For bubbles and red wines by the glass these could make the premium package a tipping point in favor of the upgrade. However, if you could only access these wines while upgrading to a specialty restaurant you are doubly limited by your meal choice and by time ( only able to find the wine during dining hours. ) so not worth the upgrade or the frustration. If there is an accessible bar that serves these wines by the glass that would be NICE.

  7. good luck, as your journey begins. looking forward to following the journey. why the memberships? I have never considered this, when you have a minute I would appreciate your insight. we are considering this cruise in summer 23.
  8. I just won!! opened the door and there it was!! It really feels great. I wasn't able to get the mega millions ticket I wanted because of this cruise. But I just opened the door and there it was! so happy to win my prize. So glad I did the up grade on the drink package! take that you naysayers! Until I wasn't. it was a princess cruises lanyard! only problem it was for the old key card and this is a medallion ship. Went to guest services and asked for an upgrade since I paid for premium plus - premium alcohol premium prize i thought. you know what they told me? " they are just clearing out odd bits and bobs of inventory". ( i loved that quote) Actually I was just looking to get back into cruising and this new policy is less than exiting and very similar to other cruise lines. At least other cruise lines don't count your drinks and they let you order 2 at a time. not that the 15 drink limit is a goal of mine but it is the principle. I have only reached the 15 drink limit once and yes i remember the day. If you reach the 15 drink limit the bartender MAY do a shot with you! ( #16), mine did. We all had a shot of H2O. it was actually one of the most memorable shots I ever took. It is tough to get excited when you remember what it was and you look at what it is and you can only assume that it will be different in a year and not for the better. ( disclaimer : I did not win a PC lanyard, but i would not be surprised if someone actually did )
  9. seems to be smoother now. however our experience was not as smooth as those reporting. Just so those that are reading this know that there are still hip ups. We submitted out TA forms 30 days out. We recieved two of 5 authorizations one week out. I was waiting on the others to follow. and gettign nervous hearing how other were getting TA without problems. Sent two subseqent email on successive days when nothing arrived. those emails seemed to fall into the ether. I then found the toll free number on the the CC thread , thankyou to the person that posted the number. ( in need to go back and do that) . I called the number the person on the line was less than personable, very effiencient , but unreliable. told me that the TA were sent and that i needed to check spam and suspect boxes. I did this for about the 6th time with her on the line. I told her i have several missing TAs. she asks well "how many is that" . I then gave her the 3 missing numbers again she said they were sent again. I asked if she could resend them , "she says I already have". I saw the first drop, told her "I got it" , saw the second on drop told her " I got two" , she said " good " and dropped off the call . I waited, and waited. and yes checked suspect and spam , no record. SO i called back and went back into the que. the next lady was very pleasant, did not question where I looked for the email , do not become standoffish, she simplely asked the number and said I got it , confirmed the name and the email and let me know she had just sent it and there is was in my email. RELIEF! I understand that the processing of the TA is a time sensitive issue and i trust the center is doing their best, but 'be nice'. Just as in any service industry you are the first impression of a culture . given my first converstion - you can stay there and i have no need to go there. Given the second conversation, that is place i'd like to see. More than i intended to say. but bottom line be patient but don't wait to the last minute and with someone on the line the process seems to happen instantaneously. I called two days before imbarkation. The Bermuda toll free number that was posted is : 833 570 2594 hope this helps .

  11. can on have on final mimosa or bloody Mary on the morning of disembarkation? on your drink package or are bars closed that morning.
  12. so not ( ticket gook) in St. George? and would that be at any post office. are post offices easy to find. I ask because we plan to start in St george on day one and would look for a post office if they are easy to find. thanks again for all your help by sharing your knowledge and experience.
  13. Are other islands giving passangers this fleecing or just Bermuda. At this point they are having passengers pay for a service that the cruise line requires for embarkation. basically paying 40 $ for the privlage of being in Bermuda's international waters. Now we are looking for "approval" to the privilage. thanks bermuda for the New common sense approach.
  14. had trouble with check in as wall over the weekend . we are on the west coast so your midnight is my 9pm. the web site was off line. waited an hour called at about 11 and was told web site was down for maintance. In the morning the system was still glitchy. had to go into and out of the site as well as each tab to input my families information .
  15. can you give some info on what the wine list looks like at the Cellars . Is it more than the wine lists you find on the treads or on like. I am a wine fan ( mostly reds ) but I am not impressed with the offerings at 15 $ price limit . I would consider the up grade to have better wine, but the wine lists have only a couple offerings by the glass ( reds ). Thanks
  16. do you have to buy the package / up grade on day one? If you can and do buy the package on day two you pay for the whole cruise , so do they credit your day one perchase retroactively. I ask because if read on line that some of the top shelf is limited or not available. I also like nicer wines that would exceed 15$ price point but if not by the class or not available then the regular package will do. I would kind of like to shop before I buy. when does the package end. ie can you order drinks the with disembarkation breakfast on the last day. if that is the case am i paying the full day upgrade for one meal.
  17. why taxi and not the bus? I realize the convivence of the taxi , but if you have the bus schedule wouldn't you know the time the bus leaves the spot. along those lines how are the buses in general with regard to reliable pick up ( do you have to flag them down or will they stop at the stop if you are waiting) and are they on schedule.? is this are also where one can see turtles? Sorry lots of question did not mean to dump all that but one lead to another.
  18. this is rediculous. NCL had noting to do with this. It is obvious if there are 14 beds covered by staff in the ER do not go to rooms 15 to 46. you have to be made at yourself. However , if you did need to call NCL you could have easily called and been in the cue one , maybe two times during your Admission. got the kidney stone addressed, AND been given questionable information by your vacation rep.
  19. that boat belongs to someone! you can tell because the exhaust pipes are totally plastic! It is like they swiped them from playground and bolted them to the boat, so that the fumes carry all the way to the stern. From the size of those pipes probable coal or steam driven. Stand back I about to fire her up!

Sorry Jim BO. didn't realize you were going to use my guesstimate as your source for your purchase. please use you local market as it will be more accurate. not sure how my "Bucks" tanslate to your GBP. Must be paying tax and import fees for that ETOH locally. But thanks for the google currency conversion and info, will have alchol shop on the next trip. I am going to take your numbers to my local Bev Mo. Maybe they will change the price tags. Different market guess.
  22. just looked at the web cam on joy. not sure if it is accurate. how is the ride. when we booked this i was wondering about open sea days. On one cruise the it was very rough the captain announced that he was making a course to "fall into the shadow of Norway" . He got to were he wanted to go and the sailing was WAY smoother. But out there there is not shadow to fall into. hope it is not too bad. do most passengers pack motion sickness meds for cruise? we never have. do they work? for some reason i think they told use to eat apples. ( does that make sense). thanks for posting will enjoy following your adventure.
