  1. We've booked numerous cruises with guaranteed cabins and have always wound up with a cabin, most of the time in a higher category than we expected.
  2. We moved to Bonita in 1993, in the summer in Naples and Bonita a lot of the restaurants had 2 fer dinners. Now it’s a madhouse down there. Bonita has grown leaps and bounds. Traffic in season is insane, that’s why we moved to Sebring but after 10 years we missed the Gulf Coast and moved to Punta Gorda. There’s traffic here but nothing like Naples and Bonita.
  3. Thanks RNB, hope you have a great cruise also. The Punta Gorda area has grown, we lived in Bonita Springs for 17 years and then 10 years in Sebring and now 2 years here but I remember taking a ride from Bonita around 1994 to Punta Gorda and we said to each other "what a waste of time and gas", wasn't much to see and do so we turned around and hightailed it back to civilization.
  4. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. A little cooler today with a high of 80 and breezy. Good selection of days. The quote makes sense. I'll pass on the mustard coated meat loaf, that might be as bad as putting ketchup on a Chicago style hot dog which could get you exiled from the Windy City. It was good to get back on the golf course, no problem with the finger but I was rusty and my tempo was off along with being stiff and sore from not playing for a month, I usually shoot from the mid 70s to high 70s and shot 89 yesterday. We are just about all packed for our Nieuw Amsterdam cruise coming up on Sunday, I have 3 books written by some of my favorite authors that I'm looking forward to reading. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  5. So sorry that your DH came down with pneumonia, hopefully he is on the road to recovery and all will be well soon.
  6. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Nice day coming up, sunny with low humidity and a high of 85. Good selection of days and a good quote. The meal works for me. The USA with a win yesterday at the World Cup and they advance to the round of 16 and every game now is either win or lose and go home. Happy to say I’m off to the golf course in a few minutes. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  7. Hey everybody, saw the hand surgeon at 8AM, said the finger is healing well and I'll still have swelling for another month but he gave me the OK to golf. Sped home and grabbed some clubs and rushed to the range and hit some balls, a little stiff but will play my regular game tomorrow. Thanks for all the nice wishes and caring. This is really a great group with some of the nicest people on the planet. This wasn't the worse affliction compared to what others are going through but there was a chance of the infection getting so bad I could have lost part of the finger, so again thanks to you all.
  8. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Sunny today with temps in the low 80s. Not sure about the quote. We learned how to Square Dance in 8th grade in Chicago public schools along with the Waltz, why Square dancing, I've never been able to figure that out and I haven't square danced since then. I'm not sure what giving Tuesday is but it sounds like something good to help the less fortunate. I'm not a fan of lemon cream pie but a lady friend of ours at our old golf club in Bonita Springs made lemon bars that were to die for. Pass on cauliflower pizza. US needs a must win today against Iran if they want to advance to the round of 16 at the World Cup. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.

  10. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Rainy this morning but sunny later in the day with a high of 80. The quote makes sense. The French dip Reuben sandwich is something I'd try. French toast is great. It's Cyber Monday and I'm going to celebrate it by buying a new I Pad. I see the hand surgeon tomorrow and hope he gives me the OK to play golf. The fingertip and nail bed is still a little sore but getting a little bit better every day. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  11. No, just the one week from the 4th to the 11th, hoping you have a great cruise also. Did you happen to read the review by sayvan last week on his NA cruise, everything was great. My only concern is Covid but so far we have managed to beat the bug, this will our 7th cruise since Thanksgiving of last year so hopefully we make it through another cruise without being quarantined.
  12. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Foggy and humid this morning with temps reaching the mid 80s this afternoon. Good quote. I’ve never thrown a pie in someone’s face but there’s always a first time. I'd try the stir fry chicken, not sure about the drink. Michiganders must be ecstatic with the Wolverines trouncing Ohio State yesterday. One week to go for our Caribbean cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  13. I'm a big fan of Daniel Silva, have read all his books. I'll give Pavone a try, thanks for the recommendation, always looking for new authors.
  14. Great photos, Vietnam has progressed and has come a long way since 1968 when I was stationed at Nha Trang Air Force Base.
  15. We've been on 68 cruises and haven't taken a shore excursion since we did a Mediterranean cruise around Italy in 2007. We are 77 and now just cruise in the Caribbean as we live in Florida and drive to Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa or Miami, we don't fly anymore, hate the whole experience. We been to all the Caribbean Islands some as much as 30 times. At this stage in our lives we just enjoy being on a cruise ship, every so often we will get off the ship in places like Havensight in St. Thomas or the mall at the port in St. Maarten or maybe a stroll around Old San Juan.
  16. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Another nice day in Punta Gorda, sunny and a high of 85. Good selection of days. Every once in awhile I'll read a Nicholas Sparks book for a change of pace from the usual mystery and espionage books I read, I'm sure the quote is a line from one of his books. IMHO the French Onion soup on Holland America and Princess Ships is excellent. The US did what they needed to do with a 0-0 tie against England, now they have to beat Iran on Tuesday to advance to the round of 16. The bad news is the American team is having trouble scoring with only 1 goal in 2 games, they'll have to step it up against Iran. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  17. The Mediterranean. The Linguine and clam sauce on Princess, the Beef Wellington on Celebrity. The Dover Sole on Holland America. Country Club Casual. On dressy nights a sport coat for me and a dress for DW.
  18. In Soccer the clock never stops so with all kinds of delays during the game the officials add on time at the end of the half and then again at the end of the game to make up for the delays.
  19. Didn't hear about Salming's passing, couldn't have been that old.
