  1. My points don't expire, and I have more than enough for whatever trips I take.
  2. It sounds like we are talking about different types of points and credit cards. My credit card purchases earn me points for a specific hotel chain that I can use for free stays. Prepaying the gratuities would get me those points earlier, but that's most likely of no benefit to me (earning them earlier).
  3. Mine work that way too. I probably worded one of my responses poorly to indicate otherwise. I was originally responding to a poster that said, "Prepay a week or two prior to cruise to get our credit card points." It sounded to me like they were saying that they don't get their credit card points if they don't prepay the gratuities. I was questioning why that was.
  4. I'm not really understanding what you are asking. Whatever charges I make during a month result in points accumulated. They aren't available the day I make the purchase but I accumulate points for every purchase. Maybe we are talking about a different type of points? My points earn me free stays in hotels.
  5. Good info. Thanks. My existing insurance covers a lot, so I'm very comfortable self insuring.
  6. My credit card gives points for every purchase. I don't have to wait for anything.
  7. Wouldn't you still get your credit card points if it was charged to your onboard account?
  8. I'd rather be on a cruise ship in an interior room than not on a cruise ship.
  9. I agree with this also. It's my money, I'll hold onto it as long as I can.
  10. For me, the biggest issue by far would be being away from family for a prolonged period.
  11. I'm confused...you said you saw an image of a camera facing into the dark, but then you said that what the OP is seeing ("snow") is normal. Seems contradictory?
  12. Deck 6 for sure! You are within two of decks of SO MANY things: theater, clubs, ice rink, casino, dining room, promenade, fitness center, boardwalk, schooner bar, central park.
  13. The problem is, people might think that they are booking nearer to the stairs based on the diagram.
  14. What exactly do you mean by this? Did you expect them to upgrade you because you've sailed with them for 39 years?
  15. Only if the person on the ship has purchased Wi-Fi access.
  16. Um none. I have a fairly strong tolerance for food issues.
  17. But you are violating global standards! 😏
  18. Great post. There are no "global standards", as has been suggested in this thread.
  19. What part of the world are you cruising from?
  20. Depends on what ship and what balcony. With many balconies, you'd land on top of a life boat.
