  1. Went on older Grandeur late last year for 14 nights and Serenade late in 2021 for 13 nights. Both were fine. Both ships priced much lower per night than newer Royal ships and fine for us. No sprucing needed. They age well unlike some Carnival ships where they were tacky from the beginning.
  2. Not a charter. She has been docked in Tampa since yesterday. Some work being done before her world cruises seems likely. https://www.porttampawebcam.com/
  3. Saw this video circulating a few days ago. Did not know it got over 7 million views until now. Have seen lots of blogger videos lately and they seem to all mention that the ship was basically just 'painted over' and little was spent to refurbish the ship. Shame as I usually only go on older ships at least 20 years old as they are smaller than the 'floating hotel' ships of today. Makes you wonder if Jimmy just will just license the Margaritaville brand to anyone who offers him cash. https://www.insider.com/margaritaville-cruise-tiktok-the-spirit-airlines-of-the-sea-2023-4?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=business-sf&fbclid=IwAR2udaUEWctblwq0MaDarrpRApoZcTN5ADuaj7Q8-dggZTEeR67FA0qOvnI
  4. The above link is a web page explaining it. Never seen it available to book with Celebrity though. Why it surprises me that Royal references Celebrity as this package basically does not currently exist. Pass was discontinued in 2021 on Celebrity according to this.
  5. The package is equally mysterious for those with bookings on Royal and/or Celebrity.
  6. I personally have never seen it or read online anyone actually seeing this package available on Celebrity besides reports it showed up a few years ago and the orders were cancelled.
  7. Problem with that is when folks called Royal's customer service to confirm, the too good to be true message was not conveyed. Royal's own staff thought package was legit at the price advertised. Why would the callers be wrong to not question it as being truthful?
  8. I will be gullible for the moment and believe the Celebrity spin for the error. It was loaded on the wrong portal. Price of $89.99 came out of thin air? Why would the price be incorrect if the details just were loaded into the wrong portal? The Celebrity connection is very suspect.
  9. You would think after the $18 drink package thing that some more checks and balances would of been implemented. At least a procedure to take down erroneous information from the website in a timely manner. This situation lasted into two different days.
  10. We are going on Celebrity in two weeks and this package is not showing either for us. The excuse of it being related to Celebrity is a weak spin on Royal's part to put it nicely...
  11. Only so many bottles of Veuve Clicquot in the world also....😏
  12. Big waste of space and alcohol. Just have to look at the tables around the robots that have many unfinished drink cups on them. Hope Allure never loses the Champagne bar.
  13. I wish they would move some of the Centrum events to the lounge aft of the Schooner bar on Vision and Radiance class ships. Larger seating area and the space goes unused most of the day. Centrum does not have the proper capacity when ships are sailing near full these days.
  14. It used to be easier as you used to be able to select between refundable and non at the beginning of the booking process. Now you have to get to the last part of the process to find out the price difference.
  15. No more folks using their $14 credit towards a pitcher of beer at Playmakers now...
  16. Thinking about booking a 4 night dining package. Details online say it is good for lunch and dinner in a specialty restaurant. Just called Celebrity and they told me dinner only. Wording on website says otherwise. Confused at this point...
  17. Love the older Vision class ships on Royal, but makes sense if they are forced to rid themselves of them. Use the older Celebrity M-class ships that are younger than Royal's Vision class into a combined line as Celebrity seems more desperate to cut costs over Royal now. Savings would be immense to just combine the two lines.
  18. Reposting my post from another Celebrity topic here... Seems like Royal and Celebrity should merge into one. Celebrity being advertised as a premium line, yet adding a room service fee like Royal makes the premium proposition harder to justify and Celebrity cutting back on the dinner buffet and Royal not cutting back on their dinner buffet. The line between the two seems so close now after January 1st. Less marketing costs if they combine would be another savings. Not surprised if they merge the two lines in the future.

  20. Booked the cartoon plate thing. I could not say it better! Wife has pestered me to book it for our March Constellation sailing and did it just to make her happy. Lots of flair....
  21. Sorry to hear about the dinner buffet as many have posted the same negative experience. 'You won't starve' should be Celebrity's new advertising slogan. Strange as Royal has not been cutting back at their dinner buffet in the Windjammer.
  22. Does not sound good. Stir fry station is my favorite and sounds like it is not there at dinner. The stations would have less food waste so not sure what Celebrity is trying to accomplish.
  23. They do in Tampa. Doesn't make it right that you cheat and go before your assigned time in other ports either. Glad you think you are a VIP and rules do not apply to you.
  24. Why have boarding times if they are not enforced? Not a busy-body, but I respect rules and don't look for an excuse to jump the line. Royal should get rid of times if they are not enforced at every port and many have an excuse that the current rules do not apply to them.
