  1. So 8 hrs later.... Takes longer than that long to reduce to yesterday's pricing? Hmmm.... Seen prices of cabins change multiple times in one day.
  2. Anyone onboard a cruise now and can check the price per day at a bar?
  3. See it now. Thanks for posting and highlighting the reference to it. Think buying a car is easier than getting a 'sale' price on Celebrity.
  4. Thank you for the update. I was told no 30 percent discount on my second call. I looked for fine print and did not see what you just posted. Must be hidden deep somewhere.
  5. Called to get wifi and Elite 30 percent discount. The math isn't working. They gave me a $12 discount off the total which should be a $75 discount when I do the math. Calling back and will wait again.
  6. The need to order dessert ahead of time is wasteful. Many times we are full and don't want it or have to leave earlier to do other things. Liked it better years ago when they asked you after your meal if you wanted dessert. Just a rush to get orders in now regardless of waste. Maybe the bean counters will change that as it would be a cost savings. I always order extra appetizers at the start as they seem to be better than the entrees many nights. They don't go to waste.
  7. Unpaid rent in 2015 and being sued for that in Pinellas County FL and with being forcefully removed by security at WTSP - CBS affiliate in Tampa. Not a good history.
  8. Best time to board is a few hours later if on a longer cruise of 7 nights or more. I get the desire to board as early as possible for 3 to 5 night sailings. No way around that as your time is limited. I rather give up the crowded lunch onboard and rush to board by waiting on longer cruises, We still stick to our scheduled check-in time on the shorter cruises by checking in online 45 days prior to sailing ahead of time online to get the earliest time. We play by the rules and our vacation is just as important as others who think they should be able to board early before their assigned time. Wait for your assigned time! You should of checked in online 45 days ahead of sailing to secure an earlier time.
  9. Check-in 45 days online before your departure date like we do. You will get the earliest time when doing it. The norm for the last couple of years. We take the time to be proactive and go online 45 days ahead and obey our time that we are assigned to. Our diamond status is meaningless as it should be. We all play by the same rules since Covid. Many passengers are rude and ignore their times to check-in. Some ports enforce it and I commend them for that.
  10. Why I didn't put that much in his comment on Twitter that he was not being replaced. Other's here seemed to to take his comment to be as being fully true. We know now and maybe he was told that when he was let go. Again, look at the history with the links above. Suing your former employer and not paying the legal costs associated with it raises a red flag.
  11. Has Royal confirmed that washing machines are being added to Serenade prior to the World Cruise? Met someone on Grandeur in November who is going and she mentioned talk of it.
  12. Brightline needs to add a cruise option where transfers for people and their luggage is included.
  13. Constellation also gets you to Panama, Costa Rica and Columbia which are ports that are not so common. I just cancelled my 12 night Serenade repo from Tampa to Boston this September to go on Constellation again as vacation time is too limited to go on both.
  14. Prices even on Celebrity have been good from Tampa. Their 12 night cruises on Constellation have priced close to 9 night sailings on Serenade from Tampa. We prefer the 2 hour happy hour and morning bloody marrys during Elite breakfast over the vouchers thanks for being Diamond on Royal.
  15. Not bad at all. Why we stay the night before by the airport and just drive the next morning without worrying about traffic. Hotels pretty reasonably priced in that area also. No detours to local streets like we often do in Miami to get around the traffic jams.
  16. He loved posting pictures onboard bridges of Royal's ships with officers and his Miami home. Wish him well. Don't wish anything bad on anyone. Just have to take into account history.
  17. Not sure either...Was not a good start from the beginning with Royal hiring him. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.tampabay.com/news/courts/Ex-WTSP-meteorologist-sued-over-almost-60-000-owed-to-lawyers_170784447/%3FoutputType%3Damp&ved=2ahUKEwiG7veItYX_AhU_RDABHTY_CAwQFnoECBMQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1Usarl7uX5jScsbmFbF7kt
  18. Tampa TV WTSP afterwards and it was an ugly divorce. Security had to escort him out according to newspaper accounts here.
  19. Port Canaveral recently surpassed Miami in total number of cruise passengers. Princess and Carnival recently added ships departing from this port. Never had good experiences sailing from Miami in the past 30 years. Congestion getting there just seems to get worse even with the new to tunnel. Port Canaveral seems to have gotten things right over the years. Friendly port workers and not stressed as much when boarding from my personal experience.
  20. Just a clarification for me. She will work during daylight hours. Still good? Good voice calls are the main priority. Trying everything I can to keep our cruise in September on.
  21. Port Canaveral just keeps extending it's passenger lead over Miami. Great news! Miami is just too congested even with the new tunnel. Princess just added a ship from PC the other day. The expensive parking in Miami is not helping either.
  22. Anyone work on Serenade lately just doing voice calls and accessing work related systems? It seemed good on Brilliance in December just browsing the internet. Reason I ask is that my wife will not go on our Serenade cruise if she can't work some. Thinking she will be fine since she won't do video calls.
  23. I make my own decisions and would not let anyone be that much of a factor. I personally do not like NCL since they went Freestyle over 20 years ago. Got spoiled with great service in the MDR during the 90's at traditional dining that they got rid of. One freestyle cruise in 2003 was enough for us having to get the attention of random waiters just for various condiments. Some prefer NCL, but not all of us have the same expectations or like the same things.
  24. Reprice may still be a thing, but if a new promo with extra OBC not so much..... I look at extra OBC and a price reduction as the same thing. Just a different reduction pot in the total price as OBC can easily be used for the service charge without having to spend more onboard. New extra OBC promotions require a cancel and rebook and paying a penalty of $200 for NRD. Same sailing and same ship. Does not matter.
