  1. Doesn't work that way. You can buy it either Day 1 or Day 2. If Day 2, any drinks you get Day 1 are charged separately to your Sail and Sign Account.

I can tell you for a fact (not counting the ports where you can't use first day) that the first time I purchased cheers it was on the 2nd day and they added all first day drinks to cheers and didn't charge. Maybe they do now but didn't then.

  2. Mine says $500 cash and FTTF is on my luggage tags. When you drop off your luggage, the porters put them with ALL the FTTF and Priority boarding people. This is my 10th Preimer and I receive my $500 each time.I sure there are lower amounts of cash given, but the FTTF and Priority are the SAME!

You are talking about boarding, which I agree with. But are you saying you get all the other perks FTTF offers too?

  3. Premier Cruises are for Casino Players Club members. We pay just Port taxes for interior room, can upgrade if we want, get drinks on us cards from day one for player and guest and $500 cash and special prizes and drawings during cruise.Priority boarding and FTTF comes with this also.

That is not totally true. There are different premiere offers. Not everyone's cash will be the same and no where does it say that FTTF is included.

  4. I did ask for the list while at the welcome cocktail party, although there were a couple of things listed that ended up being at slightly different times and if you weren't in the casino when that was announced, you might have missed something.

There was the usual Hot Seat, ping pong game, the premier-only slot tournament (for which I did not qualify (first time that's happened!)), and the daily snowball raffle. There were some other things but I think they were open to everyone.

Gift was the beach towel. I really had to work to get my bag to close to go home! I'd even taken out several items before I left the house to be sure I'd have room for my gift and I still had a struggle to zip it up.

Got chocolates one night and a bottle of Chandon Brut.

Thanks for the info! Looking forward to our cruise more and more each day!

  5. did Cruise Critic not set their clocks back? my time is one hour later than actual time, or is CC a set time zone.

Check the settings in your userCP under edit options. Down towards the bottom is a section for date and time. I have it set to auto detect and the time is correct for me.

  6. Our Premier out of Baltimore last month, we were told we had priority check in but NOT priority boarding.

That's interesting. Says on Carnivals own site you get -

"PREMIER CHECK-IN: Enjoy expedited boarding — get settled into your vacation faster."

    https://www.carnival.com/casino-premier-cruises.aspx

I'm going on my first one in January but have FTTF so won't matter I guess.

  7. How was the "Premiere" part of the cruise? I noticed you said you didn't get a list in the beginning of activities. I'm assuming you did eventually? Did they have a lot of drawings? Tournaments? Gifts? On our last cruise we got the DOU cards (even though we had cheers) and got served quite quickly as compared to when we didn't have them.

  8. Glasses of wine are included in the MDR and you get discounts on bottles. At least we did June anyways.

As stated before, if you have 5-6 drinks a day plus like coffee, water, soda, milkshakes, etc. it will be worth it. Especially if you want to try new stuff. Don't like it? Just set aside and get something else.

  9. And eliminate the whole second line. If you have to show your ID at the first desk when you enter the terminal before going through the X-ray machine (which you do), then the whole other line once you go up the escalators is not necessary.

Wouldn't you still have to get in line to check in or did I miss they were doing that different too?

  10. YEAH!!!!! If one showed up the other should be close behind!!! So glad you were able to pay your cruise off. [emoji4] Oh, if the USPS picked it up by mistake you should be able to go to UPS website and track the confirmation number in and see if it changed hands. UPS - USPS and then back. If you were curious.

Yes and no on the tracking. If UPS scanned it delivered by mistake to the USPS then they could see that. If they didn't and someone had just put it in the wrong place there would be no scan. There's no guarantee it would be scanned accepted if the USPS returned it either but sure doesn't hurt to keep an eye on that tracking.

As for claims, neither company will cover the value of the cards. The USPS won't even insure gift cards. Reason being, someone could easily claim one was lost/stolen, file an insurance claim and yet had the card the whole time. I always tell people if one is lost/stolen to call the issuing company (Verizon here) and report it. They can cancel the lost cards and issue new ones.

  11. I thought everyone on this site checked in later to avoid those "firsties" anyways......

I have done the staggered check in 3 or 4 times now. I always do my online check in stuff as soon as I book a cruise and pretty much have my pick of times. Going through security and check in goes pretty fast I have to say. I would be a little upset if they gave me a check in time that is the same as MDR time. I would hope they'd still let you in to eat later.

  12. They don't print them out as people check in? We've never been on Carnival but on Disney and RCI the person checking you in prints the cards. If you need a replacement during the cruise the person at guest services prints it out on the spot.

They are already printed out. The person checking you in goes and finds yours.

  13. I imagine this is to speed up boarding. As it is now everyone has to stop, get their photo taken, then cards have to have photos printed onto them which holds the process. With this type of boarding everyone can just walk right on, it makes sense to streamline the boarding process as much as possible.

Also I'm sure someone other than the attendants are verifying the identification on the cards and getting the cards into the envelopes. All the attendants have to do is drop the card into the mailbox along with the funtimes. How is that a hardship on them? They are already dropping a funtime off in the box, so now they drop off the card that goes to your room, that takes what all of 2 seconds to do?

I guess I should of worded my original post better.

By pain I'm not saying it's a pain for the worker to actually put them in the box. More that it's a waste of resources when more ports are doing staggered check-ins and all. Are people getting on earlier with this process? Maybe I've been an exception but I never found the check-in process to take very long at all.
