  1. Did you read my original post? Are you currently on Eclipse?
  2. It seems the ship has been telling guests that they can’t use the proctored tests on board for travel to return to the US. Was this your experience ? We were on the cruise prior to yours, wish we could have done B2B.
  3. Hi Gerry! Lol I don't think I knew your name! My thoughts exactly but I wasn't sure if that was still the requirement. I also read the Canadian forum and have seen that if possible one should test onboard, it sounds like X is just trying to avoid the potential expense by telling this guest that their test isn't valid if used onboard.
  4. I have been having a conversation on social media with a cruiser on the May 4 Eclipse cruise (Honolulu to Vancouver) Apparently they inquired about premium internet to perform their return to the US Covid test onboard prior to disembarking and were told testing needs to be done off the ship, that they can’t test onboard. My first thought was that X doesn’t want to be responsible for them if they get a positive result onboard, perhaps I am missing something but this makes no sense. Any info I can pass on? I feel badly for this person who is stressing about this on their vacation.
  5. National Kidney Foundation at HNL when you arrive may be an option. https://kidneyhi.org/covid-19-testing/ We did this last year (for interisland travel) we had results in 8-10 hours.
  6. Not accurate. Eclipse has had 2 stops in Lahaina since return to sailing.
  7. Recently off Eclipse and we tendered at Lahaina. Renting a car at OGG Kahului would be a long taxi or Uber. Check car rental locations at hotels in Kaanapali or Kapalua airport.
  8. Actually if the OP is cruising from Vancouver to Hawaii, they will have left the US. But still no test required to fly from Hawaii πŸ˜ƒ
  9. A few years ago we flew into YVR on Canada Day and were staying at the Fairmont (across form the Pan Pacific) our taxi driver had trouble getting to the hotel and at one point suggested we walk a few blocks with our suitcases, he eventually got us to the hotel.

  11. We did the same RT itinerary on Century in 2013.
  12. I will keep an eye out for your name 😊 If anyone had reason to be unhappy then it would be you or your husband! Are you still enjoying your Oahu hotel? I don't know that X has ever stopped in Kauai, at least not for the last 8 or so years..
  13. Completely agree with your comments. In Blu we noticed a big difference in how they all worked together as the cruise progressed. I feel bad for the those who after the itinerary change was announced were determined to not have a good time. Complaints about the weather and not enough tv channels πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
  14. We were on the 4/23 cruise, we actually preferred the extra sea day but that was just person preference. I do think the Captain could have commented on the barnacle issue and explained why it wasn't addressed sooner. We had a flooded bathroom after our first shower, it was fixed immediately. The crew was amazing, some were noticeably less experienced but overall we had a fantastic cruise The one lingering negative for me was the menu in Blu, there used to be chicken and steak available every day but that was replaced by the Clean Cuisine. I would book an Alaska cruise on EC this summer of not for the testing to return to the US from Canada.
  15. Based on the ships mentioned, I would guess this is for Alaska? If so, don't base your decision on the ship, look at the itinerary first. If Alaska and it will be your only opportunity to go there, I would chose Millennium, Eclipse, Solstice in that order.
  16. I would hope that if you test positive you would isolate and not risk infecting others.
  17. I was on the first cruise back, we did not get royally screwed. It was a big disappointment for some who may never make it back to Hawaii. For us we loved the extra sea day with sun vs a rainy day in Hilo πŸ˜† I think the itinerary change for Alaska is much worse.
