How long was there no running water? That’s insane.
approx 2 hours

When we boarded Carnival Splendor on 19 Dec there was no running water in the public bathrooms, bars, lido buffet or kitchen. We only discovered the problem once on board.
I asked if we could get off until the issue was fixed and they refused.
So I don't know how anybody (pax AND crew) were washing their hands after going to the bathroom or preparing meals etc.
IMHO this contravenes the hygiene standards particularly during COVID ....
Anyhoo - we cruised with a party of 8, so far 4 have tested positive ...... so 50 % is our hit rate
-
They said 6 weeks, it took 5.
Right when the Medicare data hack was going on.
PS I did not choose to fast track
-
mate on board says winds are too high and they don't want to end up on the main stage of the Opera House
Expecting 7 pm departure
-
Gangway all fixed and back up and operational .......
All a storm in a tea cup apparently (literally)
-
Heard from a friend on board that one of the OTPs gangways was damaged due to high winds when the Carnival Splendor berthed today.
Be interesting to see if there is a flow on affect for boarding and departure on time ...

Just booked a 3 nighter on Luminosa in March, $175 each for a Balcony, one of the extra large ones on deck 4.
We can get up to Brissy and back with Qantas FF points so a cheapie all round.
So many deals when I log in on Carnival, if only we had lots of annual leave.
I have LOTS of annual leave and you do kind of owe me a Xmas present

We are going on our first Carnival cruise out of Sydney 19-22 December.
How do I find out if there are any 'special' nights (pirate night, 70s, 80s etc) while on board as we would like to pack accordingly.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the replies.
It's not that they don't do it, its the fact that they no longer do it.
Its the principle.
My first Carnival cruise may in fact be my last.

Sorry to be the buster of bubbles .... I received this from "Guest Solutions" this morning.
"First things first, thank you for your service to Australia. Because of you and your colleagues, Australia is a more secure, safer and stronger nation.
Second of all, you’re absolutely right, we did have an ongoing military OBC that is no longer offered onboard Carnival Cruise Line Australia. We know this is not the answer you were hoping for and apologize in advance for any disappointment.
In closing, we ask that you not let this experience color all the fun that is in store for you when you sail with us." -

Just got off the Splendor. I had an ocean view cabin. It had 1 AU power outlet, 240V, on the table under mirror. I took a 15 ft extension cord for my CPAP and a multi USB adaptor for my devices, which I charged during the day. Also took a Portable Micro -USB Charger for when I needed it.
Much appreciated, was that the only outlet in the room?
-
Hi Folks,
RE: Carnival Splendor.
Could someone who is either on or is going on board please let me know what the electrical power outlet arrangement is in the staterooms i.e next to bed, under bed, behind "things" etc. Photos would be great.
We have a balcony booked and would like to know what to bring to power a CPAP machine.
Thanks in advance.

II don't end up with a small amount of foreign currency that isn't any use to me.
If I do end up with coins of small notes I often give it to the nearest mum with little kids. Mums always need cash 🙂

Send in your discharge book or certificate of service, once on file you get it automatically, with Princess anyway. I have got it for years due to 3 years British Army and 6 years Australian Army Reserve (ye olde CMF.) Buys a few vinos. Got $100 on Coral last week.
yup - got the same deal on many Princess just couldn't find it mentioned on Carnival. .....
Main point is "where to send it to" ........ is there an email addy?

HI Elf
The Benefit is a Carnival Benefit that's applicable across all Carnival Lines.
I just notify the cruise line I'm travelling with and the OBC pops up in my personaliser for the cruise.
A full list of carnival lines are on their site.
They also have a similar scheme for share holders, and as shares in CCL are cheap right now, its a good time to buy.
Regards
Excellent Smithers

HI Folks,
I have searched for this and cannot find the answer ..... thus the answer may be self-evident.
I have qualifying Australian Defence service and receive benefits under the Princess system.
Does Carnival offer similar benefits?
If so, how do I go about applying etc.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

I too had login problems. I could not log in for love nor money.
I tried to change my password using the forgotten password tool with no apparent luck.
I was using Firefox browser however when I used Google Chrome I did have success.
Not saying it will work for you however may I suggest trying a different browser.
Good Luck

At Suva and Lautoka if the tour operators are "inside the fence" at the docks they are reputable - outside the fence you are taking your own chances....Doing a check of Trip Advisor never hurts either way.
There are sheisters who pose as authorised tour guides in Suva. They intercept you once you get outside the port compound fence and get kick backs from shop owners for bringing them customers. Buyer beware and steer clear!

For those that find the state room shower cubicle too small or if there are "time pressures" for multiple people getting ready for formal nights etc
Use the showers adjacent to the gym / lotus spa.
They are much larger than the state room showers and there is ample room to move and lots of towels to use.

I read with growing confusion about Princess Plus and Premiere and other such jiggery-pokery ....
But what I really want to know is if I can still order a Volcano from the Children s Menu in the MDR??
Example from Sapphire circa Nov 2019
