Mrs Gut has always found it, but now days just takes her own. (She prefers ginger and hasn’t found it on any ship so far).

I already have 3 boxes of Aldi Lemon & Ginger packed (40 per box) ..... 37 night cruise ....... plus days before and after

    sorted!!   😎

Happy to hear it all went well. Many cruisers seem to be ho-hum about Noumea but I've been there about four times now and always find something new or interesting to do.

+1 for always finding something different each time.

We usually book with the same local guy who takes us off the beaten track to different places each time.

Much more to see than just the 'tourist traps'

Definitely cheaper by bus, but don't see how you can possibly get from Waterloo to Southampton faster by bus than train.

National Coach website indicates their fastest service is 1 hr 50 min and it leave from Victoria, not Waterloo.

Oops my error.  I was only stating what the carrier was telling me.

I was using an APP called Trainline.  I believe the carrier is National Express.

We are traveling from Victoria Coach to Southampton Coach.

Coach travel time 2h.15m; cost approx $10 Aussie Dollars (Direct, no stops)

Train travel time is 2h.26m; cost approx $80 Aussie Dollars (Direct, no stops).

    Hope that clears it up.

  4. The local Vanuatu currency is VATU.

You can use $AU for the water taxi ($5 each way per person).

You can use $AU cash in Vila for most shopping however you may receive VATU in return as change.

We have used our credit cards there every time with no problem.

Remember Pt Vila has the cheapest duty free alcohol in the known universe.

You pay and hand over your cruise card to the shop keeper, the goods are packaged and delivered to the ship.  The goods are delivered to your room on the last night at sea for you to pack in your luggage.

Even if you are a non-drinker a cheap bottle of booze can be a great Xmas present!!

We also have a Citibank Debit, so either is good, although at least with the 28 Degrees I wont have to keep checking the balance!

We looked at other Accor accommodation, but I cant go past the price of the Ibis, we ended up paying around $130AUD a night, no pool but will have 15 nights to laze in a pool on the way home haha!!

Whoops, just checked my booking, Ibis booking was more like $120 per night.

Thanks Carole, our Ezy Link cards run out next year, we have a fair bit of credit on them for our November trip, but the following year will not be able to use, so might try registering and using our 28 Degrees Mastercard.

How good is the Singapore Transport system, gets better every time we visit, with extra MRT stops as well.

We usually stay at the Ibis Bencoolen and we now have Bencoolen, Rochor, Little India and Bugus MRT all within easy walking distance. Green, Blue and Yellow line all taken care of!!

sheesh look at you two with all the credit cards, colours and names .... like talking to crazy rich aussies innit !!!!  .....

I know  .... back under the stairs   😎

  6. There are tour operators at the tender dock.

No beaches near the tender dock or township.

Take a walk into town from the tender dock and check out the Captains Cafe  - good food & drinks

While in town check out the local market for freshest of fruit

On the way back stop at the Decked Out cafe for another cool beer and some food

You can take a short walk to the hot springs form the tender dock

Bring back some bread to feed the tropical fish that live around the pylon at the tender dock while you wait for the tender
