  1. Hank, enjoy your cruise. We also cruised on the R class ships starting with Renaissance followed by the ship’s Princess purchased in the French Polynesia. The newer Oceania ships have amazing Speciality restaurants with no extra charge. It will be interesting to see how the experience compares for you. We enjoyed the overall experience more than Regent experience.
  2. Steelers8054, excellent and entertaining review and comparison. Your and effort is very much appreciated. Thank you very much.
  3. Hank, why haven’t you tried Oceania? You might want to try them sometime, especially if food is a priority for you.
  4. If you have a different return flight that they like better, you should call. It cannot be done on line without affecting the pricing. How much of a change did the airline make?
  5. Princess is correct. It might make you feel better if you do a dummy booking and check the price for your current cabin. You want to make sure that you comparing the same packages. Did you book Standard, Plus, or Premier? Yes, you will need to pay the difference between what your originally paid and the current price for the upgraded cabin. Just make sure it is a true comparison with the same benefits. As an alternative, you could make a bid for an upgrade when the bidding is available. Good luck.
  6. Makes no sense to me? When did you originally book your cruise. Did you pay $60 a day per person or only $50? I wonder if your TA made so kind of error? She was not given a reason does not sound like a very good TA IMO, since it is her job to find out. When is your cruise? Did you get free medallion shipping? If not perhaos you were over charged and our due a $10 credit?
  7. Do you still have the ad that you can post? I would like to see the fine print. Thanks
  8. You could look on line and see if there are other Forward BB that are not connection in that exact same category. If yes, have your TA see if the will move you. There have been reports of others being successful. Must be the same exact category.
  9. Correcting the error that you mentioned, later with the water, your number is now $85.50 for two. Given what you summarized, Princess is doing a great job meeting your needs. Others are in the very same category. (Perhaps 20% of the passengers?. If you are willing to cruise in an inside cabin, you will have an even more affordable vacation. Congratulations. I think that is really great. It is rather ironic that the Elite benefits play such a major role in allowing this to happen, when those that purchase one of the two packages do not get as much value from the Elite benefits. It is good that those in the 20% category are able to benefit. It does seem like Princess Elite benefits are focused on the wrong demographic IMO. I am sure you realize that for a vast majority of us, a single glass of wine that cost $11with gratuity, two $8 cocktails plus gratuity from a very limited Cocktail party in a very limited time frame is not our idea of an enjoyable cruise vacation. Lucky for Princess that you are in the minority. I am sincerely happy for you. I can appreciate a good deal hunter. In the case of a cruise, my needs are much different. It is not because I am ignorant as some people seem to imply, I just have different needs and priorities. (And my financial situation in retirement certainly helps). I am happy for us as well. Enjoy your cruises.
  10. Just to clarify. The suite concierge told you that Princess did not save enough spots to allow the invited suite guest (no charge) to be able to attend? Some suite guests on board your cruise did not get to do the 360 experience, because there was not availability? And this is the case for the next four cruise. Really hard for me to believe. I trust if this happened that any rejected suite guest would have been well compensated for the screw up. Here is what my e mail said: ” And because you booked a suite before December 1, 2023, it won't cost you a thing! This epic, seven-course journey transports you to the Mediterranean. We can’t give away the menu, but we can give you a sense (or five) of what to expect: Seven courses showcasing the best of Mediterranean cuisine perfectly paired with cocktails and wine Dazzling imagery in a room wrapped with hi-def screens Stunning hi-res sound for a unique sonic element Enticing aromas pumped into the atmosphere Captivating stories about the food you’re enjoying ? and the people who produced it Space is limited, so secure your seat at the table with your suite concierge as soon as you're on board. “ Could not be clearer. What did your concierge have to say? Oops, you shoukd not have done what we said to do?
  11. I am not surprised, especially since Princess’ packages are very competitive. I would never cruise without a package or some type of all inclusive included in my rate.
  12. As best that I can tell, there is no way (nor has there ever) been a way to make a 360 experience reservation on line without charging the cost to your credit card. It is the exact same way on the free first night speciality dining reservation. As far as I know, Princess has never allowed you to book that reservation on line or in advance. If you have the Premier package, you can book the two Reservations on line without charging it to your credit card. I did this. This is part of the e mail that I received. “And because you booked a suite before December 1, 2023, it won't cost you a thing! “. it does not imply nor suggest that I try to book it in line or call Princess and try to have someone book it now in advance. IMO Princess will set aside enough room for all of us booked prior to December 1. I know that people are trying to beat the system and book without paying in advance. I am not sure it is fair to everyone else. And I know Princess has not implied that it is allowed. I do agree that it would be a better process, but it contradicts what Princess is clearly telling us. I have never had an issue booking my first night Speciality Restaurant when I embarked. I am not sure the number of total suites on each ship, but I cannot image needing to stand in a long line, so I am stopping in the lounge to see the concierge when I get on board. If this thread starts to get me worried, I will just book, pay, and get a refund when I board. I will not get frustrated that I cannot get Princess to change the process. The process is going away for all booking after December 1 anyway. Good luck.
  13. I am not sure what you mean? Are you booked in a suite? Did you receive an e mail concerning the booking of the 360 experience? When is your cruise and when did you book it? My cruises are in April. I received an email from Princess. The email stated that since I booked my suite prior to December 1, I will receive the 360 experience. Further more it says to see the suite concierge when I board to make the reservation for the experience. Seems clear to me. You do not necessarily need to dispute the charge with your CC. You can just cancel the reservation that you made in error ( in advance) and receive a full refund to your CC.
  14. If both guests have the Premier package is only one passenger playing for a prize? thanks
  15. I was also initially confused. Sorry that I missed your previously explanation. I also have a watch band from a previous cruise. I was hoping to get the second version of the watch band. Perhaps Princess will allow me to pay the difference on board and upgrade. I will let you know if I am successful.
  16. I was not given any other options. what were some of the other options that you were given?
  17. Are most people convinced that the number of times you open your door increases the probability of winning? Seems like a silly process to me.
  18. Please be careful as you almost certainly do not want to buy a stand alone alcoholic drink package. If you are interested you want the Plus package or the Premier package. They are bundled with other items. Internet and ship wide gratuities and other items. The cost is $60 a day per person for the Plus and $80 a day person for the Premier package. The “savings” is based on what you would pay for each individual item at list price included in the bundle. ( not likely) If one person wishes one of the two packages the other person needs to also buy the same package. Did you each use a single CC when you purchased the cruise and paid the deposit? Contact who ever managed your initial purchase and they can add what you want to your booking. They should be able to modify your booking with the same payment options. Good luck.
  19. You get one of those with the Premier package as your include accessory.
  20. As indicated above, they are on the circle and the Caribbean cruise that is a single segment that does not return to Fort Lauderdale. I will have to watch more closely. I did enjoy one on Oceania and another on Regent, but they were expensive. I almost never see this itinerary on Celebrity that used to be availalbe every winter season. I did not realize that Princess is returning this itinerary to their schedule. Princess markets the B2B 7 day cruises as a 14 day cruise more frequently than other cruise lines that I monitor. Thank you for the heads up.
