I literally just laughed out loud!  The only time we ever ferried over to PDC it was indeed a vomit adventure. The seas were very choppy and we made the mistake of sitting inside the vessel instead of on top in open air. The space below had zero air flow and was packed like a sardine can. A ferry attendant walked about passing out barf bags. I thought at the time that it was a little silly but I took one just in case.
Sure enough the barfing began…slowly, at first. Then it grew louder and violent vomit sounds chorused throughout the ferry…in unison. (men were especially loud and pronounced). I believe chain reaction vomiting ensued as well. I, for one prefer a more dainty vomit and quietly and discreetly upchucked into my proffered little bag. I was so quiet that DH, who was sitting right next to me, had no idea I’d lost my breakfast until we disembarked the ferry.

I’m not sure if it was a walk of shame or a badge of honor but as we all filed off the vomit vessel those of us who joined the chorus marched up the aisle with our barf bags in tow and deposited them in the trash as we stepped  onto the dock.

Playa Del Carmen was really nice, though!

That ride was the worst sea ride of anything I have ever been on.  That vomit comet nickname was spot on.   I was "okay" but when I look around, half the people were a little green.

Was there things like air hockey, or arcade? From what I have searched, it appears that the basement has those things for the older kids, 12 up. There are gaming tournaments as well? Anything you can tell me is greatly appreciated.

I will ask him if there is air hockey or arcade, but I don't think so.   We only passed by the Basement when on the way and back from the port and can peek inside.   I am sure they want us "boomers" walking into their hangout LOL.  Yes, they have different tournaments each day.  They even have a "casino night".  If your room has teen, the room attendant will provide the next day schedule for the teen club.   Our son is older so after he met the other 15 to 17 years olds the first few days in the club, they just exchanged room numbers and TXT each other's in the Celebrity Apps.

It was kind of funny because we boarded early the first day and our son went to the teen club to check in.  He said, in a doomed voice, that there IS NO ONE there and he was the only one checked in!   He is going to be so bored for the next 12 days with nothing else to do.   Then a day or 2 later, we don't even see him anymore.  He rarely even eats dinner with us because he was hanging out with his friends.   He and his friends later got a look at that list of kids on the ship and found out there were actually over 300 under 18 non-adults on that cruise.

THANK YOU that will make them happy!!!

We were on Apex and 2 ping pong tables were on deck 15 I think.  But there is also ping pong table in the Basement Deck 2 where the teen club is located.   Every day there is a teen club schedule from like 9am to 11pm at night.   Our 17 years old were hanging out with about 25 of his friends every day.   We don't see him whenever we were back on the ship after a port day.

About to book our dining times & would also like it to fit in with going to see some shows - are the timings of the shows at 7pm & 9pm or are they a little different of E class ships?

We are on the cruise just before @kwokpot on Apex, and on E class, I think you really don't have to "book" dining time ahead.   We have anytime dining and didn't book ahead with app.  We were always able to get a table by just walking down to 1 of the 4 restaurants and asked for a table.  If there is a wait, usually no more than 5 to 10 minutes, and we take the beeper and walked around a bit.   Usually Cosmo has no wait, because I think the footprint is bigger.   And you can order other restaurant signature food from any of the 4 restaurants.  Just have to look at the app for the other menus.

Not sure about Connie, but have been on Apex and Summit since the buffet debacle and there was plenty to choose from… even a rotating grill station, stir fry, and pasta station.  No issues for us and we only dine in buffet for dinner, so we are happy it is getting back to more normal!

Just got off Apex last week.  "Majority" of our dinners were at the Oceanview Cafe.   We had been to the main dining restaurants, Eden, and Le Petite Chef.  With the exception of Eden, OC beats all of the others.   All the stations are open as I don't find anything "missing".   There is one empty island, but I am not sure what else could be there as there are already so many choices.   My normal plate of food would have like 3 to 5 different kind of meat from turkey, steak, pork shoulder, to lamb, fish, chicken, etc...    My wife only eats veggies and there were plenty of choices for her too.   The food at the main restaurant is great but just took way too long to finish a meal.  Also, it is nice to eat dinner in your t-shirt and shorts and flip flops at the buffet.   The only improvement I would add to the current buffet is more seafood.   Right now, there is only fish.   There were mussels at one buffet lunch but that was it.   I don't remember seeing any shrimps or crab.

  6. I just came back from Apex cruise.   You get to select the boarding time on the app before the cruise.  I think the timeslots I was offered were from 11am to 4pm, every half hour.   I picked 12 to 12:30pm.    I got there earlier than I thought around 11pm.   We walked into the terminal, nobody asked me what my timeslots was, and everyone just started lining up.   In about 15 minutes, we were checked in and on the ship in our room.

Certainly not bedside, at least in our Apex cabin. As I recall, I had to pull out the bed and use the 220v outlet on the baseboard with my own adapter.

I just got off Apex last week and there is 110v outlet next to the bed for my CPAP.  We were in an infinite veranda room.  It is only at one side of the bed.  There is a light switch, 2 USB A ports and 1 110V outlet.

  8. Sorry about the situation.  We airtag all the check in bags so at least we know where they are even if they are left in a different country.   While you are stuck in Ghent, take the free walking tour.  I think it starts around 12 or 1pm near the tourist center.  It is great!   Also try Restaurant St George.   Review rating is not very high, but the inside decor is great for Instagram LOL.   I thought the food was great too.  And service was amazing probably because they don't have a lot of tourists because of the lower review ratings.

Currently on Apex. The app shows Evian is $5.50. The bars have Evian and/or Acqua Panna - varies from day to day. Some places have both, or neither! The app shows one price for the Evian, but our room is stocked with large bottles of Evian - so you may be able to source those as well.

Would you be able to post a picture of the room's mini bar drinks prices?   We are going on Apex in 2 weeks and we don't have any drink package.  Just want to see how much we will be paying a la carte.  Thanks!

Have you loaded your cruise into the app such that you see the port on Day 1 of your cruise as below. If you have I don’t know what to say. We do have the beverage package if that does matter.

Yup.  My front page looks like yours just different ship and different cruise.   Mine also shows the local temperature on the screen as well.   Just no menu and no pricing on drinks on the bars pages.

  11. I just went and look, and I don't see it either on my cruise planner.   Just "exclusive photo session" left and the price is based on how many pictures you want from the 30 min private session.

I actually wanted to book the exclusive photo session but then when I went to check out, it asked to select the guests.   If I select 2 or 3 people, it double and triple the price.   I wonder if you could just select for 1 guest and then 3 shows up for the session.   I am not trying to take three 30 min session, just all 3 together in the pictures for 30 min.  Anyone actually did the photo session before?

  12. I just thought of another reason why I don't have menu and prices.  For the people who can see menu prices, do you have a drink package purchased?   Maybe they only show you the price when you have an unlimited drink package so you can see how much money you are saving.  But if you don't have a package, they don't want you to see how much money you are spending? 🤣

Menu is there for me. But maybe it’s because I have a future cruise booked and it is showing the menus for that cruise ship.

Hmmm.  I have one booked too on Apex in 19 days (6/25).   I am checked in already as well.  I don't see any of the menu on anything under dining even for the main restaurants.

To see individual prices - go to app - at bottom click on

    1. Dining

    2. Bars & Lounges

    3. The particular bar/s on your ship

    4. Menu

    this shows the individual prices

    4. Menu is not there on the app.

The only selectable thing inside each bar is "Find on Deck".   Maybe the Menu option only shows up after you are onboard or on the first sail date of your cruise?

Very interesting.  Is this supposedly for all the ships?  We already had basic booked for an Aug Eclipse sailing (including 4 devices for one person... to share), so it sounds like we will get premium performance for the cheaper price?  Good for us, I guess.

Yeah, that's to be determined.  Basic and Premium WiFi are using the same system, just different speed limit put on the account.   You will find out when you do a speed test onboard!

I took a look but only saw packages. Im interested in individual drink prices.

I tried looking in the app too but cannot fine the individual drink prices as well.  Maybe it only shows up when you are onboard?

Us too!  We like stopping into McDs to see what's different.  It's the little things in life that bring the most joy, lol.

Now I want to stop by Belgium!  Unfortunately, we don't have time to do so this trip, but you have me sold on that candy!! YUM!!!

Ghent is also the first time we took one of those "free tour" and it was great.   That's where we learnt about the candy and the tale of the 2 brothers.   The thing about free tour is that the guide only gets tip money at the end, and if the tour is not good, he/she may not get any money at all.   So, either the guide is very passionate about their city/town or he/she has to be really really good to get enough tip to be worth the time spent.  Our guide was amazing, and she also recommended the best restaurants and waffle places in town.   Also, another great thing about free tours is that you don't have to sign up, you just show up.

To be honest, I wish we spent a little bit more time there.  We were only there about an hour.  We are big Disney fans so we had to stop by, even if for just a little.  (For those who aren't aware, Tivoli inspired Disney.)

We didn't know that!   Now it is like a must visit.   We are annual pass holders for 15 years and try to visit every Disney Park in the world.
