That is good news since we will be on the Millennium in Sept. I just told DH and hopefully we will not forget to pack our euro adapter between now and then!

I only watched all the walkthrough of the retreat class cabins (sky suite, celebrity suite, etc...).  I don't know if they added outlet for the non-retreat cabins.  I think they only added USB ports for non retreat cabins next to the bed.

One other suggestion is all the Celebrity ships have at least one Euro plug. So I take a Euro-US plug so i can use that outlet also.

    den

I was watching the updated cabin video on the Millennium and the guy said they added plugs next to the bed, but they are EURO plugs only.   So yeah, if you bring EURO adapter, you may not even need extension cord on some ships.

DH has cruised with a CPAP on all the S-class ships with no worries with the outlet being by the dresser. May I suggest that you book bed by bath and that non-CPAP user takes the side by the closet? Otherwise there is a greater chance of tripping over the extension cord to go potty in the middle of the night if the bed is by the veranda and the extension cord crosses the path to the bath.

Last time they put duct tape to cover up the exposed cord on the floor and they ran it under the bed.  The chance of tripping over it would be minimal.

Years ago before smart phones we used them on a Disney cruise. There were so many people using them it was almost impossible to find an open channel. That was the last time for us just use the phone now.

Disney cruises had Wave Phones in cabin you can use anywhere on the ship or at the private island.  This was like 5 years ago.   They may have replaced it now with apps just like other cruise lines.

  5. We were on Silhouette and were able to get 3 tables that seats 10-12 next to each others every night.  We had about 30 people in the group.   But we also booked thru the same TA and she said put notes in for us to all dine at the same time 6:00pm and all seat together.

  6. With free internet on board and pretty much everyone has mobile phone, I think walkie talker will be a thing of the past.  On our last cruise, our family has over 30 people on board and we all just got internet (was not free back then) and use Whatsapp to communicate.

Didn't someone quote the Captain or say that another party had heard it from Captain Kate?

Someone onboard Edge quoted Captain Kate.  The post said "Per Captain Kate..."

It seems strange that someone would just make it up, but it is possible.   More likely I think is there was some kind of NDA between Celebrity Cruise the passengers who got kicked off.   Something like don't make a fuzz don't go to the press and we will pay for your travel back home.

  8. I didn't know you could book kid into AQ cabins.  The reason we didn't book AQ cabin on our last cruise was because one of the cabins was our kid and my mom, and I thought kid was not allowed to be in AQ cabin.  AQ was about the same price as the Concierge room we booked for that cruise.   I thought I read somewhere that AQ rooms were adult only.

    Please explain

There are a lot of FCC sitting out there waiting to be used.   Until they are all used up or expires on April 30, 2022, Celebrity could charge any price and people will still have to book.   Since they have to be used on sail by Sept 2022, prices should go back down a bit after that.

I have to use ours and still have not decided what to book yet.  The Alaska cruise we booked back in 2020 is now about 50% more with the same perks.

That is a huge relief, thank you! I'm terrified to be trapped in a tiny windowless room!

Hmmm, the quarantine deck on Millennium is deck 2 I believe.  The quarantine room could be an inside room.   People who booked suites will be moved to a smaller room (maybe windowless) on deck 2 if they are tested positive.

Nope, that’s the style for the young ones!!!

Are you sure he is not wearing socks?  One of my younger coworker seems like he never wore socks.  So one day I asked him about it (mentioning something about Don Johnson is back?) and he said he absolutely wore socks everyday.  He took off his shoes and showed me.  They are called no show socks for men.

Not sure I understand. Aren't the streaming and surf customers competing for the same resource?  If surf is bad I'm not sure why streaming would be better.

They may prioritize and let the streaming customers get the data first and whatever bandwidth left are split between the surf folks.

  13. I think the new rule should be get there 2 days or more ahead of the cruise.   I know 2 groups of relatives flying from west coast to east coast in the last 3 weeks.   First one have their flight delayed for 8 hours and didn't arrive until 26 hours later because they missed the connection and had to stay at a hotel overnight.   Second group had their flight cancelled completely and the rescheduled flight was 2 days later.

He will be fine with this attire.  We find that in the Retreat many seem to wear a sport coat with or without a tie.  But there are many who are at the country club casual end of the spectrum as well.  But given the brace nobody is going to give it a second notice.

I wore short sleeves button down shirt on chic night and I am far from the most "causal" dressed men that night.   With the exception of seeing more men in tux, chic night is really not much different for men than regular night.   Now the women seem to dress up more on chic nights.   I can definitely see those night gowns are coming out on chic nights.

  15. If the inside staterooms and oceanview staterooms were not sold initially, the capacity would have been reduced automictically by a certain % already.   Someone could probably calculate that number from some of the ship's description sites.

We’re thinking along the same lines. Our state reopens fully on Tuesday. Not exactly sure what that will look like but neither of us has had any kind of sickness since we started masking. I will still plan to wear one to the grocery store and other large box stores along with taking my hand sanitizer. If people want to look at me or comment then go ahead.

You will get some comments.   I got one from my wife just the other day wearing one on the way from the car to the restaurant!

"You don't have to wear one until we get to the restaurant!"

"But then I have to carry it, might as well wear it!"

But seriously, I have been reading about people confronting others for wearing masks.   I am sure this will get worst once the state (CA) opens on 6/15.   I am sure there will be people choose to wear masks and get confronted.   Back in 2019 winter, I bought a pack of cold medicines from Costco thinking that it would be easily finished by expiration date 2/2022.   Now I am not so sure....as it has not even been opened yet and no one in the house got the common cold the entire year of 2020 and 21 today.
